They've done a pretty good job up and down the card making every match at least somewhat interesting. Even Bayley/Nia has the subtext of if Tiffy is going to cash in on the winner or not.

The segment on Smackdown seemed pretty clear they see Logan as the heel who won't even get cheered in his hometown. I think it's pretty clear LA Knight is winning, and I'd wager it's probably going to be the opener to kick the show off on a high note.

Both it seems. They were near his home and he said they are working on a legends deal. Punk was talking about their meeting saying Jesse told him "when I saw you were back I knew the place must have changed"

The only thing I don't like about it is they added title vs career after Bryan had been going around for months saying this was his last year as a full time wrestler. To me it kind of lessens the impact of the stip when in essence he's fighting for the right to be a part timer. A better way would have been after he got some losses like he did, state the next time he loses a big match his career is over like how Ric Flair did leading up to the HBK mania match. That way there's still some intrigue where you'd be like "well it probably is time for him to retire but would he want to make a whole stadium full of people unhappy? " Really loving the Mariah/Toni stuff, with Mariah looking very respectful as a heel and Toni losing what little grip she had on sanity. I assume with her classic movie deal they are going to go full Whatever Happened to Baby Jane with her. Hangman might have the most interesting character arc going right now, since it was pretty fucked up that the fans cheered for Swerve when he was breaking into his house and terrorizing his baby.

Also I'm starting to dig the Kris Stat/Big Stoke heel pairing.
-
I don't like how they constantly build up Thea Hail only to lose the big one yet again. Maybe it's just residual PTSD from all those years of WWE killing babyfaces, but she's too young to get Lex Luger'ed this quickly in her career.

Bron being that fast while being that jacked is like some cheat code shit. How is that even possible?

Was not expecting Dexter Loomis to come back looking like Kizarny, but it works for the gimmick. Also I'm glad the crowd is so into the new Wyatts since you can't help but root for Rowan after that promo.

AEW TV - 7/24 -7/27 - Prestige Worldwide Presents Blood & Guts
sek69 replied to Timbo Slice's topic in AEW
Dustin and the Von Erichs vs the Undisputed Kingdom was a really great TV main event. As someone who started watching non-WWF wrestling with episodes of World Class on ESPN, it was surreal hearing a Dallas-adjacent crowd losing their minds for the Von Erichs. -

I need MJF to out Homelander Cody with his new heel pro America gimmick. -
So this section of the Observer update today sure seems like Priest was flash KO'd at Money In The Bank "Priest told the New York Post recently that “there was a situation” that led to him not kicking out from Rollins’ Falcon Arrow moments before Drew McIntyre arrived to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. He reportedly told the outlet that he “didn’t want to get into anything medical” concerning what happened, saying it was personal."

IIRC he is of Russian descent raised in Germany.

WWE TV 07/15 - 07/21 Football is, in fact, not coming home

On the plus side, this will probably mean Hogan is going to still be kept away from WWE programming since even Vince didn't want to go anywhere near Trump stuff. -
The amazing thing is they most likely will, Osprey has a whole other gear for big stadium matches.

It's funny when AEW started everyone was mad that the Bucks were putting everyone over too much and now the pendulum has swung the other way.
-
I love the tradition in AEW of people hiding in the front row with a Sting mask
-
I love the finish, the broadway fake-out, and now they can have a big money match in Wembley.
-
MJF's bacne is getting completely out of control, god damn.

I would give the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't intended to come off that way, but GUNTHER's whole WWE gimmick has been ubermensch-adjacent so who knows. -

Damn, I wasn't expecting an Erik Rowan promo to hit me in the feels, but here we are. "Who would miss me? I'm just Rowan" that shit hit hard. -
Speaking of, this pic pretty much seals the deal that Willow is the happiest person in the history of pro wrestling
-
So just to show there's no hard feelings over the Stephanie Vaquer deal, Willow just won the CMLL women's title on the New Japan Strong show tonight.

There was an obnoxious Celtics fan in the crowd (shocking, I know) cheering Sasha, and the NYC area crowd did what they do when that happens. Stephanie absolutely opened a lot of eyes and got herself over, but the crowd turning on Sasha was an indirect result of one douche in the crowd.
