Joking, mostly. My takeaway is Jerry gives every impression he's a man who gets shit done but you probably wouldn't want to know how he does it. Like if I wanted to beat charges that I was 100% guilty of Jerry would be the guy I would want to represent me since I know he would do some shit to make it happen.
-
He's a great ambassador for the company since everything he does comes off as genuine even when he's kayfabe (maybe? lol) slidin' in Becky's mom's DMs.

Despite the gimmick, the Briscoes are both pretty intelligent guys. I would hope Jay has evolved enough to realize how messed up his comments were. I don't expect to see him at any Pride events ever, but its been a decade and minds can change. It's also possible as a smart guy he realized after his tweet allegedly cost him a WWE gig that it might be Best for Business to stfu about topics like that since wrestling (and indy wrestling in particular) has become way more LGBTQ friendly in the years since he said those things.
-
I might be giving him too much credit, but I don't think Cody is th's delusional. Having Andrade point out (correctly, not even in a heel way) that the people there didn't like him made it clear he is doing a "John Cena but not self aware" gimmick where he's a heel that 100% believes he's a babyface. Like not a heel who knows he's a heel and is just acting like a good guy to be irritating, I think Cody's gimmick here is supposed to be a heel who believes he's honestly a good guy. Maybe it's his way of doing meta commentary on WWE or something. Who knows, but it clearly seems intentional.

Man, this latest episode convinced me Jerry McDevitt is the slimiest lawyer of all time and 100% the guy I would want representing me if I was ever facing serious charges.

By itself it isn't, shit happens after all, but by all accounts Sinclair had little to no protections in place to prevent such attack or any backup plan in case it ever did happen (see ROH having to air a best of show due to "technical issues from their broadcaster" which seems like a nice way of saying that shit is locked down and they didn't have backups) which is inexcusable for a mom and pop TV station let alone a billion dollar conglomerate.
-
It's amazing how much of this comes down to Sinclair incompetence that had nothing to do with ROH directly. First they overpaid for the Regional Sports Networks they bought from Fox (who had to get rid of them as part of the terms from the Disney buyout, meaning Sinclair had every advantage in the process and somehow *still* overpaid), and then getting attacked by ransomware (which is completely bonkers that a company that size worth that much money apparently had zero protection from that).
-
That would explain why they never put any of the older stuff up on Honor Club.

Didn't WCW do Nitros in Wheeling? I seem to recall them going there since WWE had the arena in Pittsburgh on lock and it was the biggest arena they could get in the area. I think Scott Hall's debut was in WV too, now that I look back.

I'm sure the Cornette types are stroking out over it, but that was awesome. You knew how that was going to end up and they didn't do any swerves, no bullshit, just gave you what you wanted to see and the fans went wild. Plus the match was pretty good too, costumes aside. The end with Hangman laying out the Elite was some "Vince taking a million Stunners while drowning in beer" shit and it RULED.
-
My son is in to WWE more than AEW, but he's going to lose it when I show him the Elite coming out as Ghostbusters.
-
Cody has to be doing a meta gimmick, he even is using the "each and every one of you" WWE promo verbiage now.

The Mox Murder Tour 2021 rolling on is awesome.

That's fascinating, most folks from other countries I've run into find baseball too obtuse to get into on more than a "throw the ball, hit the ball" level. I guess there's enough in common with cricket to smooth the transition.
-
Bryan and Kingston could be a promo-only feud and I would still be okay with that,
-
Honestly, Ethan Page does the same for me. The difference is I can buy Fish as a mid level guy temporarily hanging with the main guys, while Ethan I just can't. Maybe it's the Impact stigma or him mainly being a tag guy, but I just don't buy him as someone who can hang with the main eventers.

I noticed that too, if I was Punk that would warrant a "what the fuck, bro?" from me.

You know it's serious when Punk breaks out the LONG BOIS.

Fightful reported that ROH COO Joe Koff told the roster that he had multiple meetings to try to go to bat for the company but at the end of the day Sinclair made the call. I'm guessing if this is the end, TK probably makes a bid for the library not only for All In but because he's stated several times he is working with WarnerMedia to create a AEW streaming service (and it's also why they do so many Dark/After Dark tapings so they have more than just TV shows and PPVs on it).
-
He does a ton of videos on his YouTube, I suppose humor is subjective but he does have that Borat sense of "dude makes you think he's an idiot but actually gets some pretty funny jokes in" style of humor. Plus I think people respect the hustle since he was a journeyman indy nobody until he came up with the gimmick and worked his ass off all the way to getting a ROH contract.
-
Hey, maybe they'll just launch ROH 2.0 in April and cover everything in neon.
-
Guess Daddy Sinclair got tired of paying folks to do crowdless TV tapings. Also now I guess Rush and family are free to join Andrade in AEW.
-
ROH does need a refresh pretty badly. The no fans shows hurt, but even when they ran PPVs with crowds, it was just ice cold with no buzz even if the work on the shows were normally good if not excellent.
-
Yeah if anything WWE would get the money paid to use a clip from their show, but if the sample is properly credited (I don't know if it was or not) it should fall under fair use. Either way it wouldn't be his fight if there was a case. Also it's one thing for Roman to talk shit, but a ring announcer? Dude has a very inflated sense of his worth to the company. My man is acting like he has Jerry Mac on speed dial when you know his call would get kicked right to voicemail.
-
Not to mention just a short while before his latest outburst he was posting pics from a Be A Star event. Dude seems like an all around asshole, and TBF I never thought he was that good of a ring announcer. He kept doing weird vocal inflections (KEVIN AHH-OWWWENNNNS!) that just sounded odd and never seemed to "get" the job.
