Considering they got a billion dollars over the next five years, it's more like they cashed on a streaming service looking to overpay for content. It's not like NBC/Universal got a WCW level deal here.

WWE TV 01/25 - 01/31 What's the pro wrestling equivalent of Mahomes vs Brady?

So I guess today was that India-centered Supershow where they brought in Jinder and all the Indian folks collecting dust at the PC, any of our India brothers watch the show? -

I'm sure if Shayna wanted to issue a receipt they won't punish someone who's friends with a big star they are still thirsty to get back. Besides, she seems smart enough that if there was a receipt it won't be something obvious, I'd wager the next time she gets Charlotte in a submission it might end up being pretty snug. -

Also interesting to point out this deal for the WWE Network makes no sense for NBC/Universal unless the long term plan is to go after Smackdown when the Fox deal ends, and the possibility at that point since Vince will be almost 80 it could be the right time for them to buy WWE outright. If they are going to shell out money for Raw and Network rights, you might well just own the company and save yourself some bucks. -

Interesting to hear Dave talking about how Vince's brother dying might have him thinking about his own mortality, which would assume he has normal human emotions. -

This Alexa silliness is completely out of hand at this point. At least Bray's horror alter ego puts more effort into it than black lipstick and hair buns. Also the tiniest person on the roster becoming a no selling murder machine strains believability past the breaking point. -

R-Truth being 49 years old is amazing to me. I'm starting to think he is immortal. -

I suppose with the Peacock deal, WWE has finally achieved their goal of fully not having to care what fans think since all their money is coming from TV deals and streaming. -
I think if Alexa was doing this character in any other company other than the one run by a guy known for his creepy fetishes, it probably wouldn't come off as uncomfortable to so many. Just knowing so much in WWE is designed simply for Vince's amusement gives it such a creepy vibe, even if it wasn't the intention.

Remember when we all thought Dom was going to be great when he had those matches with Seth? Then he ran into the black hole of suck and is now Just A Guy. Speaking of, Baron Corbin is like Bray Wyatt without the horror nonsense. Everyone he feuds with ends up coming out of it lesser than they went in.

I would argue the reaction the Rumble got for him not winning it was even more of a litmus test. That promo was the start of WWE trying to rewrite history to make it seem like it was the plan all along and not something the fans forced their hand on.

I mean Conor basically has a get out of jail free card. As long as he draws he can have whatever substances he wants. I suppose that's probably true for any headliner *cough& Jon Jones *cough* but it seems really painfully obvious in his case. Plus I would expect since Joe spends so much time around fighters he knows exactly what game the WWE is playing.

Wednesday was the night NBC Sports aired NHL games, so NXT is either going to have to move to another night or get pre-empted on a regular basis.

The Thread Killer Talks Too Much: The Recaps

I still suspect pulling Tully's offer was more of a F you move than anything else. Getting upset at Tully popping for coke is like getting mad at Steve Austin having a high BAC. It's kind of the whole gimmick. I'd wager Turner as a company was probably done dealing with the Horsemen at that point and looked for any reason to back out of the deal. -

I'm guessing Corny getting busted open could have been played off as accidental juice, since it's not like Jim was known for blading all over the place. Dusty taking a spike to the eye would not offer any such plausible deniability. -

It's possible, if he checked out of wrestling after his WCW stint he might not be that aware of Stone BAH GAWD Cold. -

Even at the time it was confusing, and all I can come up with now was it was Dusty just doing a "fuck you, you can't tell me what to do" move. It kind of makes sense when you think about it, he went from being allowed to do whatever he wanted to do with Crockett in charge to having a bunch of suits tell him no more blood and guts (lol) when that was about 90% of Dusty's act at that point. The Herd interview really underscores that Ric Flair has been a neurotic mess for longer than we realized. It really seems he worked himself into a shoot with Turner and Herd, he was so convinced everyone was out to get him he ended up turning them all against him. -
I thought Meltzer hit it on the head about Striker, dude started off as a decent enough announcer who had potential to be good, but WWE production messed up his confidence to the point he overcompensates everything to the max and gets annoying fast. Hopefully D-Lo can develop as an announcer and keep him in check. Anyone else thinking all the AEW guys showing up on Impact and being dicks is going to lead to Impact guys invading Dynamite and just trashing the place like Nexus?

I must admit, I never realized Herd had such a background in the business, I always thought he was just a suit Turner brought in to run the rasslin'. Also it never fails to amaze me how it seems *everyone* in the Turner organization just hated pro wrestling except Ted himself. No wonder WCW was doomed once he was no longer in control. Doesn't it seem like one of the more underrated aspects of wrestling history is "Ted Turner buys a promotion known for blood and violence and immediately issues an edict of no more blood and violence"? That one act seemed to be the butterfly flapping its wings that set so many other things into motion.
