In other news, Ryback tweeted that the world would be a better place if Dave was six feet underground, which regardless of your feelings on him is kind of a scary thing to say about a guy who already has a gang of obsessive loons devoted to trying to bring him down.

Matt Sydal was doing shows for ROH (he's in the Pure tournament I think) so at best he's not exclusive to AEW.

The Britt thing did suck, and not sure which tag match you were talking about but both Private Party/Dark Order and the 8 man tag were good IMO. I'm not usually a fan of battle royals but I thought this one was very good...except all anyone will remember of it is the botch.Which is understandable, but it's a shame since the Casino gimmick put a new spin on a tired format and has produced good results. Shida/Rosa, Orange/Jericho, and Mox/MJF were all great and IMO it's kind of unfair to shit on something when you admittedly didn't watch the best parts. I get it though, the Matt Hardy deal was a scary situation and I don't blame anyone if it soured their outlook on the show. If you want to make the case it wasn't up to AEW's standards I could see that argument and probably even agree with it for at least the first part of the show. To say the entire show was bad is honestly just factually incorrect and comes off like an emotional kneejerk response.

I fully understand the anger and upset, but Reby really is doing herself (and Matt probably) screaming at people on Twitter. No one really is looking good here, Tony said he initially called for the match to be stopped but the doctor told him Matt was okay enough to do the finish which it was allowed to continue. The doctor was out there with Matt so it was probably some combo of Matt not wanting the doctor to stop it, and Tony probably being naiive enough to believe he was okay when he was obviously out on his feet moments before. Assuming for a moment everything said was true (I know), the doctor is either really bad at his job and not able to determine someone wobbly AF after a blow to the head was not fit to go on OR Matt's Broken Powers are real and he somehow managed to Jedi mind trick the doctor into saying he was okay. Or.....everyone involved realized they fucked up and there's some ass covering going on. Honestly I'd probably wager that the doctor really didn't want to be the one to call it and asked Matt if he was OK before telling Tony "he's okay to do the finish". Then we all saw him nearly falling off the lighting rig and everyone panic'd. You see it in (American) football all the time, in theory the team doctors have the authority to sit someone down but they all know in reality there would be a shit storm rained upon him if it was someone of even medium importance getting pulled. Hopefully it's a learning experience for all parties, and everyone will do better the next time an obvious head injury takes place.

This was like when NXT was having their run of great Takeover shows then finally had one that was still good but not as good as the prior ones.
-
Appropriate that in the end, MJF was right and Mox did need his move to win after all.
-
Seems like he wants to create a signature call like Tony Chimel did with Edge and the "Rated R Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper star" bit.

Honestly I think people bitching about a $50 show "only" being solid is more of an indictment of the person saying it than the show itself.
-
I'm reading people saying FTR wasn't any good in their match and it has me wondering if somehow I got concussed by proxy.
-
I get the Hardy thing left a bad taste in people's mouths but I'm not understanding the hate this show is getting on social media. All the matches have been solid so far.
-
Reby going off on Twitter over how irresponsible everyone was letting the match go on (to be fair Aubrey *was* trying to stop it), and Bryan mentioned Matt was being sent to the hospital.
-
Shida with another great match, and kudos to AEW by positioning Thunder Rosa as an actual threat and not a fake champ from a second rate group like most promotions would do.
-
That table spot did not look fun at all.
-
That was a pretty decent battle royale, Matt Sydal's Shockmastering notwithstanding.
-
I was just noticing how hot everyone looked, according to weather.com the "feels like" temp in Jacksonville is 95. Lotta sweaty guys out there. Sucks for Matt Sydal.
-
That 10 second interaction made me really want a Darby vs Rey Fenix match.
-
Cody should really introduce Jake Hager to whoever the coach was that helped him get rid of the lisp.
-
Lana also has a vested interest to keep the heat off herself too, considering she's signed one of those keep-away-from-AEW deals that seem to get you fired the moment the company gets annoyed about something you did.

So Thunder Rosa mentioned she turned down a WWE tryout in September (she was in the middle of training for her MMA debut at the time), but noted they weren't interested in her as a wrestler but a referee. Adds another level of irony in her having a top notch match on Dynamite vs Serena Deeb (who got covid fired by WWE). It definitely had elements of a segment being padded out to fill time, but by the end it was awesome enough to cancel those parts out IMO. Overall SD was a pretty solid show, having a clear #1 like Roman back was what they needed to regain their focus. Him vs Jey is not only a match they haven't run a million times, it has the additional family intrigue angle that gives it a feel that has been largely missing in WWE main events.
-
Roman gets to murder family in his first PPV defense, seems interesting.
-
I was just thinking she's very Seth-like in that being in WWE style tag matches forces her to not do the things she's not good at. Also if Bayley wanted to cement that turn on Sasha she should have snatched her wig.

So I saw someone making a good point elsewhere, is Brucie going to have to give up his podcast side hustle along with everyone else losing Twitch/Cameo money? (of course he won't)
-
Then he's going to attempt to bully Woods into handing over all the rights to it.
