  1. Finishing up Smackdown (Animal Crossing interrupted the first viewing), doing an angle where Elias is sent to the "local medical facility" in a state on lockdown due to Coronavirus reminded me of the WCCW "we've had two tragedies this week, Chris Adams was blinded and Gino Hernandez died" deal. It never fails to amaze me how deep in the bubble they are.
  2. Watching Smackdown, i see Bayley decided to go full Karen Mode "may I speak to the manager" with her hair.
  3. Jericho able to broker peace between the families is a "DDP saving Jake and Hall" level move too. The scene where David breaks down and the reveal that Chavo and Sandra are there with him was the one hopeful moment in the whole story.
  4. This will end up being the most irresponsible thing he's ever done, yet having goddamn Wrestlemania in the middle of a pandemic might be the most Vince thing that possibly could ever happen. I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV, but I would think Roman has a good case for being put in an unsafe working environment due to all this. Miz will probably get all the heat (and he is a dumb shit for showing up to work with flu like symptoms in all this mess), but it all could have been avoided if the psycho in charge didn't insist on making this happen.
  5. Barry Windham went from one of the best in the world to basically done for after his knee injury. He had other things going on (his family going to jail namely), but he always struck me as a what could have been with modern medicine.
  6. Probably his reward for telling the poors to suck it on social media.
  7. It's largely due to WWE not being able to finalize a TV deal, and the result of both sides being run by men used to being surrounded by sycophants and yes men who can't handle not getting what they want the second they want it.
  8. Basically just starting this after watching NXT and being puzzled that WWE clearly sees something in Austin Theory but book him to lose all the time. Especially to modern-day Steve Lombardi, Tyler Breeze.
  9. Tony hitting us with a WE'RE OUTTA TIME! AEW greatest promotion ever.
  10. I'm loving Jericho doing the "I'm clearly talking to a crazy person so I'm going to keep calm so as not to upset him" routine.
  11. One day we'll look back at Chris Jericho cutting a promo on Vanguard-1 in an empty arena as what life was like in 2020.
  12. It seems like the whole Exalted One gimmick is going to be a not-so-subtle dig at Vince's weird quirks.
  13. People bag on David's admittedly questionable attempts to enter the wrestling business, but damn if he isn't the most sympathetic person in the universe. Dude got treated as if he was the one who did the murders (doesn't help that he basically looks like an identical twin of his dad if he had never used steroids) and got shunned by the people he grew up with. Jericho was 100% right in saying the way David got treated was bullshit.
  14. The only thing I wish could have been expanded upon a little more was the part about the Wellness Policy. They did kind of mention it, but glossing over how guys could get TUE exemptions made Jericho look like a dumb ass after saying how it was so strict after Eddy died you couldn't even smoke weed yet Benoit was on enough steroids to choke an elephant. All the pieces were there, they mentioned he was using since his teen years and that WWE had a lot of loopholes, but they could have connected the dots a little better IMO. Also was it just me or did Nancy's sister accuse Benoit of sexual assault? The part where she was asked if she saw any violence, and she said yes but out of respect to the kids he left behind she wouldn't go into details. That made my blood run cold, considering what else would she want to shield from them considering their dad's already a murderer?
  15. IIRC the fans/magazines/etc got smart to the trend of lucha guys trying to get a double payday losing a mask in the US and Mexico, so Juvy just decided to go maskless.
  16. She wasn't the first one to make those allegations, it was supposedly one of those things that was an open secret but no one said anything because...reasons. Possibly because Sullivan had booking power in a lot of places and no one wanted to potentially derail their careers over someone's wife getting knocked around.
  17. Just finished watching, and god damn. That was like an hour of being emotionally punted in the groin over and over. I couldn't help but be struck by the similarities with Benoit and the Von Erich boys, where they never had a chance to properly grieve and it marked a clear path of decline. Hindsight is 20/20 and all that, but someone so reserved suddenly becoming an emotional mess should have raised more red flags but the theme of this story has always been no one could believe any of this would ever have happened. Watching Chris break down completely on the Eddie memorial show was rough at the time and it's only about a million times more so now. As was hearing David say him and Daniel wanted to be tag team champions one day. It's almost kind of heartwarming to see David still be able to talk about how his dad was his hero as a kid, but that only drives home how absolutely insane it was when everything happened. Hearing Jericho relate a story similar to one Dave Meltzer has told before about Benoit hugging him at Eddie's funeral almost in desperation while crying deep heaving sobs was eerie as well. In all of it though, the roughest part was finding out from Chavo that Eddie died in his arms. I've only ever heard that Chavo found him in the bathroom, but to hear that he actually listened to his uncle expire.....Jesus Christ.
  18. He also doesn't understand how how his own contract works, he told someone else on Twitter he isn't getting paid now since he's not working and that would only be the case if he already made more than his downside guarantee (about 1.2 million). Dude just signed one of those "we're afraid of AEW" deals last summer, no way he's out there rationing out ramen noodles until shows start up again.
  19. Indy promotions starting back up next week in Japan gives some hope that there's light at the end of the tunnel, but their government was way more on top of things than ours so maybe not.
  20. The Observer said Marko was ill, but didn't specify with what. Sounds like he probably has a cold or something minor and didn't want to risk exposure.
  21. Both AEW and WWE are owned by billionaires with connections, I would suspect it wouldn't be much effort for them to get tests if they really wanted to. But as stated, rasslin' is rasslin', so if you assume the worst you're probably not going to be disappointed most times.
  22. With Big E dressing like an Uncle at the BBQ, Bryan and Drew sharing training videos*, and Kurt breaking out the gee-tar again, Corona's done the impossible and made Wrestling Twitter wholesome. *Bonus points for them referencing Bryan's wardrobe malfunction in their match. I popped for Bryan failing Drew's headlock test (squeezing a rubber ball) and complaining he squeezed so hard his ball popped out.
  23. Sammy keeping the Judas sing-along streak going was money.
  24. Two days of Mania with no crowd? WWE can GTFO with that nonsense.
  25. Loved the Brodie Lee reveal, but that gear made him look like Diesel Jr.
