WWE TV 12/02 - 12/08 DiCaprio is setting the world on fire!

They definitely seem to have the same kind of issues re: women. The only difference is Heyman could actually book wrestling at one point. -

Saw it mentioned elsewhere that it's kind of fucked up when you stop to think that one of their main angles is "woman files restraining order against her soon to be ex husband, but she's the heel and he's the babyface" considering how often that happens IRL and results in violence against the woman. Like, yeah it's just wacky WWE nonsense, but that's the kind of stuff that probably drives away more people than you'd think since it hits home to a lot of people in ways people in charge of WWE would most likely never even think of. -

Very glad they didn't do the "singles wrestler beats the tag champs singlehandedly" trope, even if it was DA QUEEN out there. -

When they came back to commercial to show Eric Young I legit thought for a second Bob Holly was making a comeback. -

The phrase "you're just mad because I'm taller than you" would only exist in a Vince McMahon created world. -

Props to the WWE costuming department, I didn't think there would be enough double sided tape in the world to keep Lana inside that dress but they managed to do it. -

Joe, on the other hand had me rolling with his "this is just like Thanksgiving" while Kevin and Lana were bickering. -

Maybe if Seth is going to be heel he shouldn't have the entrance music with the sing along intro. -

So I guess people are expecting Liv Morgan to show up on the Funhouse as the new character Bray is promising? -

Not to mention they have a history of bullying people with mental health issues. AJ Lee basically got called a dumb mark for getting the date she won the women's title tattooed on her neck, and while to be fair I don't know how open she was about her issues then, she's an ambassador for the National Alliance on Mental Issues now and is pretty open about her struggles on social media. -
Honestly, Tony's probably happy working for a wrestling company that isn't a complete clusterfuck.

I would wager there's probably a correlation between Corey becoming a favorite of Vince and him becoming more of an abject asshole on TV and social media. -
Kip did an interview revealing Penelope as his new valet, and she made a comment about who needs a Bad Boy when you can have Superbad. It was clearly a line designed to imply the two would be feuding at some point that it looks like she threw in on her own.
-
I think the deal with Janela is he seems pissed that Penelope Ford apparently went in to business for herself at the PPV when she implied there would be a Kip Sabian/Janela feud. She's currently with Sabian IRL and broke up with Janela around the time he had his bad leg break and it seems there were some unresolved feelings regarding that.

It's not surprising, but it's always a bit gross feeling when you have your worst suspicions confirmed. -

Dave mentioned that Corey Graves has support within the company with the whole Mauro deal, and some folks consider Corey the good guy in all this. -
JR calling Cody/Dustin was legit one of the best announcing performance of all time. Added so much to what was already a great, emotional match. 2019 JR is like how Ric Flair was on his last WWE run as a wrestler, obviously he's past his prime but still able to show you why he was one of the greats on occasion. Like Flair in those later years, he's not able to carry the broomstick anymore but you put someone with a pulse in there and sometimes you can still make magic.
-
It feels like Excalibur feels he needs to do more when it's just him and JR, which isn't entirely wrong, but it comes off as "if I keep talking, Jim won't be able to say something that makes him look bad/old/out of touch". With Tony around, you have a guy who's been doing broadcasting during the time he was away from wrestling so he was already good to go. He just needed to get familiarity with the product.
-
JR's more "grandpa who uses outdated terminology" than "wannabe edgelord who keeps playing with fire and is constantly surprised when he gets burned" so I wouldn't expect him to get the Cornette reaction here.
