Latest Observer has the number of dates each guy in WWE worked last year with HHH working something like 50 matches and fucking Tommy Dreamer being in the top 15 of guys working most dates. And really the Trip as "Most Hated Man"talk started out of that enviroment. As it started way before the Jericho stuff. My impression is Meltz' general like of HHH's work normally softens whatever stuff people leak to him but once HHH went down you had enviroment where he was still booking stuff to keep himself strong (keep others weak) while not actually wrestling and well nothing to cushion against who ever was leaking his latest asshole move. Also I imagine guy who isn't actually wrestling still fucking shit up is going to make Meltzer's sources more vehement and angry. Trip as most hated stuff really started back up while Trip was down. Edge really happy to be going to Smackdown because everyone knows that being on RAW means your nothing but meat for Trip---Trip organizing to have him jobbed on the way out, Booker being brought to RAW and demanding to be in booking meetings because he knows being on RAW means that he's nothing but meat for Trip but wants to keep Trip from talking behind his back...yadda yadda. Really can't remember Meltz reporting stories of wrestlers not wanting to be on RAW till Trip went down. Don't remember Meltz really acknowledging the degree to which being on RAW meant that you couldn't expect better than to be fodder for Trip till Trip went down. Meltz reported both of these points as though they were conventional wisdom---"everyone knows what being on RAw means"....as though he's been reporting that for years. All the Jericho/Flair "Trip as most hated" stuff just feels part and parcell to Meltzer's reporting on Trip when he went down. -
I don''t see it topping Flair's. And really you guys need to watch the Brody v Bockwinlkle from Houston to give yourself a reason to tear out your own eyes.

Damnit there is no square for that. G3 really is a different argument. Hey Loss I'm sorry as this is partially my fault but can we somehow move the apologist BINGO--Ohtani's Jacket stuff to a seperate thread...as I don't want the Jim Ross hypocracy to get lost in the midle of handwringing over each others hypocricy. -
Mary J. Blige, 37 The Bronx native’s first album — “What’s the 411?” — debuted in 1992. Since then Blige has produced seven multiplatinum albums and won six Grammy Awards. In December 2006 Blige won nine Billboard Music Awards for her album “The Breakthrough.” Between August 2005 and January 2007 Blige allegedly received multiple shipments from an Orlando pharmacy of Jentropin, a human growth hormone, and Oxandrolone, an anabolic steroid, in orders sent to her at the Beverly Hills Hotel, MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and Clay Gym in New York City. At least one of the orders was mailed under the name “Marlo Stanfield,” which is the character name of a drug kingpin on the Baltimore-based HBO crime drama “The Wire.” Blige’s representative did not respond to a request for comment. So jentropin and oxandrolone and Marlo Stanfield.

It also doesn't say what type of steroids. Is Mary J blige using steroids for her vocal chords (which at this point pretty much every singer does) or is she using steroids that make her look cock diesel. I would like to see actual prescriptions here. Fifty Cent and Timbaland being on the juice is no surprise, like Bix them not going to a real doctor seems silly though. Of course I assume lesser stars aren't going to make the news. Cop: Hey totally confidential but Saigon is on the list of Signature users. Times Union of Albany: Who?

There are approximately 85 wrestlers on the Mid-south set. Without thinking about it much I think 11 of those guys are dead. Kerry VonErich, Buzz Sawyer, and Eddie Gilbert all died in their thrities. Chris Adams, Ray Candy, Terry Gordy, JYD, and Hercules Hernandez all died in their 40s. Dick Murdoch passed in his 50s. Wahoo and Ernie Ladd died in their 60s, Ladd in his late sixties. Dick Slater was sentenced to a year of house arrest after he had stabbed his girlfriend and ODed on oxy. In the late 80s Chris Adams was arrested for beating his wife Toni, several years ago he was arrested for manslaughter due to OD of his then girlfriend, he didn't serve time for the manslaughter because instead he was killed in a drunken brawl. Buddy "Jack" Roberts and Steve Williams both had throat cancer, Hacksaw Jim Duggan suffered with kidney cancer. My guess is that the cancers were mostly caused by drinking and smoking. I do not have any reason to believe that working in LA and being exposed to the carcinogens in Louisiana's Cancer Alley contributed to the cancers. I don't doubt that Hacksaw's steroid use probably made it worse. As one of the extras on the set Good Helmet including a clip of Paul Boesch mourning the recent loss of Gino Hernandez (who had died of coke overdose and who was rumored to be Boesch's illegitamate child). There are no Gino matches on the set but Boesch mourning what was either his son or someone who he took to his heart as a son was something people should see. If you look through the threads about the individual matches, I think Kris, Goodhelmet, myself, and Phil are all pretty honest about the drug problems that affected different members of the roster. I think you'll find us all to be pretty honest about Watts racism. There may be rose colored glasses but there aren't blinders. -

Yeah the Mysterio one is funny. I also like the Lance Storm: "Vince didn't force people to do drugs, but Road Warrior Animal and Marc Mero forced people to do drugs" and all the variations on that. -

Dissapointed that no square for its the "recreational drugs and alcohol." and lack of variations on "personal choice"but thanks this will be handy. -
So you are way ahead of me on rewatching these things but at the time we originally went through these my memory was that this was the one that I felt was the least of the three. Part of the reason was that it aped move for move Reed v Flair No DQ too closely and Reed was so much better in that match. At the time, the other two Taylor v Flair matches told a different story while this just felt like a poor man's version of Reed v Flair.
-
Surprisingly the one match that was a lot better than I remebered it being was JYD v Bockwinkle...This was always a match that I wanted on the set but not a match that I remembered being this good. Not one of the top matches, I've watched thus far but far better than remembered.. This is what I wrote : I should point out that I had Pm'ed Loss and suggested that he try to make his points without bothering to quote or get into dialogue with other posters. And I of course ignore my own advice.

My birthday was back in last October but I will gladly accept a Wrestling Death Apologist Bingo Card as a late birthday gift. -
Still appears for me. Didn't realize it was hidden.
-
Best thing about that ether finish is they clearly used some sented thing as it looks like folks in the front row (assuming not stunt grannies) start to cough.
-
I don't see any reason that that thread should have dissapeared but can't find it.

One of the things that Shawn pimpers always point to is "ability to work with a variety of opponents" but the question the tantrums ask is were their styleistic match-ups that he was incapable of working. Yeah he threw a tantrum with Shamrock. But is their any reason to believe that he was capable of stylistically matching up with Shamrock as well as Vader, Sano, Owen, Bret or fuck Ron Killings? He threw a tantrum opposite Vader. But is their any reason to believe that he was capable of stylistically matching up with Vader as well as DBS, Pillman, Inoki, Cactus Jack, Dustin, Sting and a rack of other people. Could he have matches up with Hogan as smartly as DDP or the Rock? Are the tantrums a sign of immaturity or just an acknowledgement of the limits of his abilities? We'll never know for sure.

Maan I used to have a pot pinned on the DVDVR about how saying "it's all subjective" should be the beginning of discussion and not the end. With the death of nos stick I don't know if I can find that anymore. Can you point to examples of this body of work? What are the matches that you like?
-
I know you wrote about the cage match as a possiblke MOTYC from 83...and for large time putting this set together I thought it would be my number 1. So curious what it was about the six man that sent that above the cage match.
-
That's Paul Boesch.
-
There are several guys who do it. Which match are ou asking about in particular? Paul Boesch does Houston normally. Boyd Pierce is often paired with a wrestler or Watts on commentary.
-
She looked as yoked as the Gladiator was paired with in the pyramid. Looked as yoked as everyone else in the bridge crossing thingamrig.
-
So saw the show and... Isn't she under contract to EliteXC? Doesn't EXC test? How long does it take to get Gladiator formula out of your system?
