It was up on the front page of the Observer site the same day he posted it here, Meltzer refrenced it in 1 or 2 of the daily updates as well

3/31/1998 (BJW Jr Title) Yoshihiro Tajiri © vs Ikuto Hidaka - Awesome match i'd add to the list as well
-
Really liked the Kazuchika Okada, Shinsuke Nakamura, Masato Tanaka & Yujiro Takahashi vs Hiroshi Tanahashi, Hirooki Goto, Tetsuya Naito & Tomoaki Honma 8 man tags. There was one on 2/5/2012 then a re-match on 3/10, the Feb match is especially good. DEAN's had high praise for a # of other Okada matches in his 2012 MOTY thread if you search over on the DVD board. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xt4qzu_hi...da-c-njpw_sport

Okada vs Tanahashi 6/16 is mine & a lot of other ppls (including Meltzer's) current MOTY, Okada vs Naito from 3/12 is still in my top 5. Okada vs Tanahashi 2/12 isn't on that lvl but was damn good. Haven't seen any of it but heard he had a good run in the G1 this year which he ended up winning. Ditto

Yeah, that's a bit of a head scratcher, he'd allready been in the business for like 30+ years by 2008. Nope, unless someone gets below a certain vote % they stay on the ballot otherwise.

1-24-1981 Big Daddy & Sammy Lee (Tiger Mask) vs Grand Vladimir & Mel Stuart A giant 400lb dude in a sparkly top hat & cape teaming with a young Tiger Mask in a yellow & black Bruce Lee suite carrying a kendo stick and a fuckin 40 deep childrens marching band leading the way as they go into battle to kick the shit out of giant french mountain man lookin mother fuckers. Toothless fat broads are flippin off the heels, old ladies are loosing their shit, kids are spazing out and generally every fan in the building is going crazy. WHO COULD HATE THIS??????????

Eh, at best all you can really say is Public voters on a statement like that Seems like a good time to bring up this post NintendoLogic quoted of Meltzer's from a few weeks back again http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?show...p;#entry5513121

Well to wrestling fans he is. To be more specific, Alvarez' point on Sting (which I sorta agree with actually) was that to a whole generation of ppl that grew up watching he was the man and that once more older voters are faded out and replaced by the folk that grew up on him he'll get voted in by them. That he wasn't main stream famous is irrelevant really, a great bonus if you can gain that staus (which only a handfull ever do) but in no way a negative if you can't.

Awesome, something cool to listen to when I get home from work tonight. Great show, 99.5% nothing but talk about old British & other Euro wrestling so I loved it. Huge pop for Zoltan Boscik getting brought up.
-
I have absolutely no interest in listening to Bryan talk about this. I hope he was joking because there is a good debate to be had there and it should be had. I want to hear someone duke it out on the Euro candidates who has the knowledge to make real cases for or against these guys. Nope he was serious him & Karl Stern will be doing the show and Karl (who I like) admitidley has limited Euro knowledge as well so yeah, can't wait to hear this. Bryan said he was basicly doing it in response to ppl on "the board" commenting that if he thought Sting should be in the HoF because he was really famous then that should mean Daddy has to go in too.

Next week Bryan Alvarez says he's doing a special audio show just to debate Big Daddy. So can't wait for this

Wouldn't surprise me, i've met actual Albino's who aren't as pale as Sheamus. Anyways, I don't watch WWE TV very often anymore so I don't know how it compares to what they usually do but I thought RAW last night was one of the best shows they'd had in years. Lots of good wrestling with the matches that needed time getting it and those that didn't still being entertaining. The non wrestling comedy stuff wasn't overbearing and actually was funny for a change and I bought the serious angles they tried to do as well & didn't cringe at any of the promos (helped that Cena was kept off the mic & Lawler was kept off commentary). Only negative is that 3 hours plus really is too damn long but other then that i'd start watching again regularly if all the shows were going to be like that.
-
Just turned on RAW and immediatly two things strike me. 1) Sheamus is so damn white that I swear he must be wearing make up to ghost up the gimmick. 2) From behind with the new hair cut (and really from the front too) CM Punk looks just like Randy Orton now....so wrong.

Heh, that's pretty close to what my list would be For me Rick Rude Curt Hennig Ted DiBiase Terry Funk Ric Flair Jerry Lawler There's others (very few) i'd have above him in my top 100 but I think as an overall wrestler Funk may be the greatest of all time. Terry Gordy Stan Hansen Steve Williams Ricky Steamboat Randy Savage Tully Blanchard Steve Austin Bret Hart Shawn Michaels Kenta Kobashi Mitsuharu Misawa Toshiaki Kawada Out of everyone listed Kawada is the one who'd be least likely to make my top 100 or really even top 200. I've seen him in great matches sure but at this point any enjoyment I get out of them is purely because of whoever it is he's facing and not him, on his own I have no use for Toshiaki Kawada in my life.

Another joshi must have JD 7/5/1998 (TWF Tag Titles) Jaguar Yokota & Yoko Kosugi © vs Lioness Asuka & The Bloody - 60 Min Draw, about half airs on tv, really great match, not worked at all like ppl would probably exspect if they went in blind.

http://smartmarkvideo.com/chris-hero-dvd-i...hero-story.html There's also a deluxe edition that includes matches: http://smartmarkvideo.com/chris-hero-dvd-i...xe-edition.html Part way into this & it's been awesome so far. Amused that early on in the shoot Hero admits himself that he'd basicly drag matches out longer then need be just for his own amusement which had been a big criticism of mine about his work for a while. Also got a kick out of him name droping Jeff Lynch. 4 hours just covering IWA MS, Chikara & CZW with another 3 & 1/2 hours to go. Makes Bull Pain sound like the scariest man alive, Quackenbush sound like the biggest douche bag alive and Justice Pain sound like the worst wrestler to have ever lived

Great in ring work, 6 time IWGP champ & ace of the company for the last 6 or 7 years. Biggest draw they've had over that time span & was the guy on top & leading the company when they had to dig themselves out of the hole Inoki created in the early to mid 2000's. While NJPW isn't doing as great as they were in their hey day they're doing better then they have in a while. Kind of the Japanese equivilant of Cena actually. On this subject, Meltzer in today's news update

Looking over the list, the 10 i'd prob vote for would be John Cena Rock & Roll Express Sting Gran Hamada Kensuke Sasaki Hiroshi Tanahashi Atlantis L.A. Park Dr. Wagner Jr. Johnny Saint + Bill Apter & Jerry Jarrett as non wrestlers June Byers i'd consider but would want to research more to be certain. Moolah i'd never really considered before but learning more about how many wrestlers came out of her training camp made me re-think it since that's something that counts a lot for me. Still, hard to tell with her because for all the ppl out thear who have positive things to say about her there's a ton who bad mouth her as well and cutting through the BS to find the truth is a bit of a task.

Was the full list of everyone on the ballot posted here or in another thread? Searched back 10 pages and couldn't find it

Alan4L's section is semi decent if you have an interest in modern Japan & Indy wrestling, Karl Stern's section is OK if you're into classic wrestling but there's little activity in it as very few posters use that part of the board. The rest of the F4W forum is a worthless shit hole full of trolls, idiots & butt kissers. Ppl try to get decent conversations going thear but largely it's a wasted effort.

Not exactly traditional but I remember Yoji being pretty fun as "Commander Anjo" in Hustle a few years back.

FLIK replied to Loss's topic in April 1992
Heh, Pritchard freely admits he was a Piper rip off and he actually wrote a really great blog about it just a couple of weeks ago At the moment his website http://www.drtomprichard.com is down but you can read the google cached version here http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/sear...om-best-or.html- 14 replies
