Glad people are liking this as much as I did as I had it as my GAEA MOTY Early in both's careers but Tamura's one of the best and i've always maintained that Toshie was just as good as any of her fellow GAEA trainees who got more hype (Meiko, Nagashima, Sonoko Kato) until she got slowed down by injuries in the early 00's. If it wasn't so much later in her career when she blossomed character/personality wise and would have done so when she was younger and could go at a top lvl (not that she was close to bad later on) she'd have been huge. Oh and Loss Called it

On & off this is roughly a 5-6 year feud (more depending how you want to look at things) and prob my favorite joshi rivalry ever. Dozens of ppl pop in & out on both sides but Watanabe vs LCO was always the heart of things. Be patient, stick with her

Finished watching this a few days ago. Documentry is def up thear among the best i've ever seen but I wasn't too big on the bonus features, thought a lot of the ints were a bit dry. Didn't like them as much as Memphis Heat for example whear the extras were maybe better then the doc itself.

Yeah the BTW Wrestlefest in Newark CA Don't think he even watched the indy show and just went to the convention portion cause he wanted to hang out w Bret, Funk & a few other guys. I've only seen him live at an indy out here once despite there being shows all over all the time. He showed up for APW's Chick Fight 2 back in 05 or 06 cause they brought in Mariko Yoshida

Ah, that makes sense in hindsight, doesn't make it seem so weird that Samurai gave more time to Kobashi/Akiyama vs The Headhunters then this then....

On 11/14 Hansen & Vader wrestled Misawa & Ogawa Neither the 11/14 or 11/21 Vader/Hansen matches were anything special I thought Yeah, I'd skip it just because of that Is there a full version of this? The Sam TV Ep I have only airs like 8 mins Thought this was the best match of the league, atleast from what aired on Samurai TV. Wasn't blow away great but I enjoyed it a lot. I remember thinking Ace/Bart Gunn vs Akiyama/Kobashi from 12/4 was the 2nd best but I wouldn't advocate it for the set.

Not sure what this says but I had to do a double take because my brain automaticly read this as Bully Ray instead

2 of my favorite moments from this match Austin's "it coulda been you and me at Wrestlemania for the title but ya blew it" line and Sid's "I don't know shit cry baby" response to Bret as he's walking back down the ramp post match

[1993-04-02-AJW-Dream Slam I] Akira Hokuto vs Shinobu Kandori
FLIK replied to Loss's topic in April 1993
eh, just read through the yearbook threads, the "other worth watching" threads and somewhear in 1 of the forums is a joshi for newbs topic. Other then that i'd say just go youtube more Hokuto or Kandori matches. That's the easiest way to get exposed to new wrestlers and is usually what I do when I discover someone I like for the 1st time- 21 replies

I'd cut Yoshihiro Taijiri vs Gedo (BJPW Indy Hyper J Tournament 02/03/98) It's a real good match but hardly imperitive, time that could be better used elsewhear.

After Ozaki wins, GAEA rookies Sakura Hirota & Hiromi Kato get in the ring and ask Oz to let them join her crew, turning their back on their trainer Chigusa. Basicly continuing the theme from last year with Ozaki turning Nagashima & Sato to her side and generally causing chaos & stirring shit up in the promotion.

Just want to note this was never billed as a "UFC Rules" match it was billed as "GAEA Kai rules" which basicly = similar rules to what the other shoot style feds were doing at the time like RINGS. Toned down matches you can only win via knock out or submission, everyone having to wear basic black gear, limited to mostly matwork with a few basic strikes & suplexes mixed in and only a certain # of rope breaks allowed.

Really can't see them going anywhear myself. Neither is really WWE material, TNA in another era might want them but they're in a firing mood not a hiring one and Davey's burned his bridge with most of the notable companies in Japan... Still, if they're leaving I assume there's a pretty high chance they drop the belts to Fish & Kyle next Sat.

Perhaps i'm alone but I was always legit entertained by this, and not even in a train wreck sorta way. I think it would have gotten a warmer reception from others had it contained known guys as Tenta got a good reaction for his bit and the brawl at the end. I was freakin pissed as hell when they got replaced a week or so later and then we never saw any of em again. I wanted to see how the mysterious unknown martial artist guys would have fared....

Yeah, from the little bit i've followed it the "no men" rule is still pretty prevelant in the idol singer world.

Naw, at this point they're about 50/50 with Kanemura/Tanaka The majority of 97 was built around their two feuds as the top things and really Kanemura/Tanaka may have been pushed slightly more as they got more main events and also had Onita in the middle playing both sides. Then at the end of the year it all merges together This particular match was semi main underneath Tanaka, Kuroda & Onita vs Kanemura, Hido & Dragon W*INGER, which didn't make the set but I liked about as much as this one, maybe a little less. Course, in the end Gan/Busa did become the bigger feud but that wasn't really until next year or so Yeah, he only really has maybe 2-3 months in the company totall spread out over a few tours. Gibson originally came in with him but lasted like 1 tour
-
that's more of an older generation thing and in the rare times it's enforced now limited to mostly the younger/rookie girls. Course, also keep in mind a lot of girls still start out while they're in their mid to late teens

Yeah, I've heard Kharma's YouShoot is fun. I expect that she wants to go back to the WWE, but at least (from what I heard) she buried the butterfly belt. I grabbed this from the internets last night. She does bury the Butterfly belt. She says she knows somebody put hard work in designing the belt, but she would ask to redesign it if she won. I liked the shoot and she comes off as really likeable and a happy person, but does admit before she could go back to WWE she has to take care of some personal issues. Interesting things was that she said Hornswoggle is her son's godfather ... Madison Rayne, Lacey Von Erich, Traci Brooks, and Becky Bayless go in the ho bag (She loves Becky and says "She knows she's a ho") ... when she gets the inevitable "How big is Batista's dick" question she almost gives a name to say "ask her" which would likely have been Melina. Haven't seen the youshoot to comment but if people want a more serious interview from her i'd suggest checking out the podcast she did a year or so ago at http://ringbellesonline.com/category/podcast/ she doesn't come clean on every single thing but is largely honest and gives you enough that you can read between the lines on the rest. Her Art of Wrestling Ep w Cabana is really good too though a little more on the fun/light side Yeah, she's mentioned this a bunch in the past. Not really a new revelation though as ppl have known that for decades. It's funny though because depending on who you ask the % always changes wildly. I've heard everything from "it's just a few" to "yeah like 90%"

Short version Since they were buddies since college, Hayabusa wanted Gannosuke to rejoin the FMW side when he returned to the company whear as everyone else hated him for abandoning the promotion after Onita left so post match Hayabusa offers Gan the chance to not shave his head and join him again which he refuses.

[1997-04-29-FMW] Megumi Kudo vs Shark Tsuchiya (Retirement Death)
FLIK replied to Loss's topic in April 1997
Always really liked this match, the full version is worth seeking out. This is also notable for being one of if not the only times they ran a show and had someone main event over Onita.
