  1. Don't really like where you're going with the use of the word "obsolete".
  2. Who was praising those matches?
  3. Looking into this it seems like he had 300k base appearance rate + percentage cut of gate + 25% of PPV revenue. And the merchandise rate was 65% although Sullvian said something like he agreed to come down to 50%. If you add up all the 300ks for appearances and then make an estaminet of those gates and PPV buy rates, maybe it did come to 20m+?
  4. Hmmm. Curious. Sullivan has brought up Hogan's payment costs more than once and uses it as the permanent reason why he had to headline pretty much every card.
  5. That's why I wanted to mentioned them, the figures seem absolutely enormous. Sullivan claims Hogan was on almost 10 times the next nearest guy (who was Savage). He reckons that Hogan was able to negotiate this deal after a PPV carrier went to him independently (i.e. just to Hogan) and offered by 2 million for 6 shows. Hogan went to Turner and was able to get the deal by playing one against the other. The figures seem outrageous though, and I wanted to know if there were any conflicting reports.
  6. My vote has nothing to do with PWO member or the historical figure, it is informed by other reasons.
  7. More Sullivan claims: - Hogan was on about 26 million in WCW, pre NWO - he was guaranteed 2 million per ppv plus bonuses if they were .5 of a rating above target - he was also paid a percentage of Nitro revenue - he also got 50% of ALL merchandise no matter whose it was - the next highest paid guy was on about 3 million
  8. Thanks for letting me know.
  9. The NWA's key goal is for credibility and legitimacy in the eyes of the fans, so respect and experience go a long way. Jim Crockett Jr. had never promoted a card before 1973 and was seen as standing in his daddy's shoes and had never set foot in the wrestling ring unlike Eddie Graham, Fritz or various other NWA guys, including Bob Giegel. Jones was one of the original architects of the NWA. In short, respect is everything.
  10. Just saying he should de facto be in consideration since it was the existing plan.
  11. I was thinking it would all happen organically as guys finish their runs and bookers feel like they need to make trades to freshen things up.
  12. All in-game stuff aside, the champ should be Flair since Harley literally only got the belt to setup the Starrcade match. There'd need to be a compelling reason for the NWA (and Crockett) to about turn on that decision, so he should definitely be in the vote. Someone should also look how many "home dates" the champion had when champion. How often would Race work Central States, how often would Flair work mid Atlantic etc. I think it should work largely like it does with my dates on Andre, whereby if there aren't dates on him I'll consider him free for my shows. Same deal with the champ. So for example, if that's Flair he'll still be turning up in Mid-Atlantic slightly more often than elsewhere.
  13. Here's what Paul Jones looks like by the way. He actually founded GCW in 1944. He hasn't cropped up in the Georgia stuff I've watched or in shoot interviews really. Jim Barnett is usually the guy who gets talked about, then Ole.
  14. I don't much care for the idea pf a wholesale redraft. What's the point of it?
  15. There did used to be newsletters that didn't break kayfabe I've read them.
  16. I thought we said the 6-month draft was off? I really don't want a redistribution draft. If there's another draft it should only consist of guys who are cut for wharver reason.
  17. WWF is a member.
  18. Seconded.
  19. Vince Sr would also like it to be known that that "although he is neutral", if Lawler is booked as champion he will have a grand total of zero dates in New York, LA, Philly, Pittsburgh, or any of his other markets. The WWF will also not be open to potentially lucrative champion vs. champion deals such as Race vs. Superstar Graham from 1978 or Bob Backlund vs. Harley Race on numerous occasions. The WWF expects the NWA champion to be credible.
  20. Ron Fuller won't be held to ransom over his vote. Therefore if WWF is serious, then Bobby Eaton will be withdrawn from his development plan and cut all ties with WWF going forward. Fuller understands the knock on effect of not booking Andre, but that's something he'll live with. Okay fine, the WWF is happy with whoever the NWA picks as champion. If you pick Lawler so be it. Vince Sr is abstaining on the vote and neutral on who is champion. This message has been brought to you by Phil Zacko.
  21. For non-storyline stuff, I have a lot of patterns and formulas which help ensure that all guys on the roster have a role and to ensure that we aren't getting too many repeat matches. So with Bret Hart, I know he faces a jobber, a JTTS and a star in a three week pattern -- have a grid where the jobber and JTTS change each time so you don't get the same match twice. The star is dicated by who is facing the champ. Under that there's a similar patter for a JTTS guys and others. I may share some of my workings just so people can see the method.
  22. My one booking tip that I learned before is to book backwards from an endpoint. Makes things easier and lends focus.
  23. Well dates involving NWA members.
  24. I stand by what I said, if Lawler becomes champion WWF will leave NWA and cancel all Andre dates. Do what you want, but that's my pledge.
