  1. For the draft I think we should have all the workers in alphabetical order for ease of reference.

  3. Got to laugh at people fighting over Central States while I went uncontested for WWF. PWO only man.
  4. Is there an argument to say that Kikcuhi was the Ricky Morton of the 90s?
  5. What are the other "must watch" LA Park matches? I'll be doing a run next week.

  7. Jerry Valiant is a pretty underrated worker. He's kind of like Bobby Heenan, big bumper. WWF were booking him in the mid-80s as a job guy because when they'd run Indianapolis, they hired his ring. He owned a ring you see.
  8. Konnan was hanging around in WWF then?! Max Moon was designed for him. When did Bret actually start using the sharpshooter?
  9. The only interesting comparison between Cena and Bret as draws would be in Europe, especially UK / Ireland / Germany. Bret was always a big card here. I have no idea how over Cena is with the average UK fan.
  10. Konnan was hanging around in WWF then?!
  11. The "saved worker" plus the first draft pick should at least ensure everyone has two main eventers to work with. Although, y'know, if your top saved worker is Bob Brown or Paul Christy, you got what you bargained for.
  12. Flair is tough to beat for any of these. I do think there's an argument for Yatsu over Choshu for 86. Choshu had the aura and the look of a total bad ass, but in the actual matches it's so often Yatsu who not only took the pounding but also who brought the A+ offense. I really love Yatsu in all those matches and he was the stand out performer to my layman eyes.
  13. Wasn't the angle with the nose and the match with Flair from 87?

  15. Four years ago, in June, we discussed the significance of a big loss. We were discussing how losses can damage careers. In this thread, I want to focus on the opposite: times when someone loses a big match but the process of losing in the match actually elevates them up the card. I watched one example last night: Stan Hansen vs. Kenta Kobashi (7/29/93) Seems to me like this sort of thing would happen much more in Japanese wrestling than in US wrestling where most of the examples I can think of are actually draws vs. a champ (see Sting vs. Flair, Clash 1).
  16. I wish I still had mine. I am not sure where to find the 1983 mod now. Before the draft, it might be worth cross-checking our list with the database to see if there's any we missed. We could do a skype call with Kris on the line to make a call on whether or not to include certain guys. Like Spiros Arion, I'd say leave out, but Tor Kamata should be in. Stuff like that
  17. Steven, following on from my post about WWA in the other thread, can you pull up the WWA roster on your TEW? I think I listed most of them, but there are some obscure cats lurking there. I want to say they had Bobo Brazil too.
  18. DiBiase also has a great match tagging with Hansen vs. The Funks in All Japan, the one I reviewed last night. I think him smashing Dory's head with a cowbell while Hansen eggs him on would make his career highlight reel. When you put that with the Duggan stuff, the Flair match, and the Murdoch feud, Ted's 85 looks pretty action packed. Too bad he didn't have the beard for most of it.
  19. Distinct lack of Choshu and Yatsu here.
  20. Ricky Morton might be added to the mix.
  21. Ted DiBiase and Randy Savage need to be on the shortlist at least.
  22. Kris, if we're going to have WWA in we need more Indianpolis-based talent represented like the Kelly Twins, Jerry Valiant, Moose Cholak, Paul Christy, Roger Kirby and maybe even an ancient Wilbur Snyder. I believe The Sheik might have done some shots for them too. He definitely needs to be added to the Freelancers. He was active in 1983.
  23. I believe the debate was resolved later when someone took a piledriver and was bleeding from the top of the head. Actually, I think it was Uncle Elmer Stan Frazier in GCW. Johnny at least admitted that the head takes some impact. Although, yeah, the neck is the main target.
