  1. SMW would like to book Abdullah The Butcher for 20th and the 27th.
  2. Smoky Mountain Wrestling is a proud partner of the National Wrestling Alliance Smoky Mountain Power Hour Saturday 18th May 1985 Knoxville Civic Ballroom, Knoxville, TN Taped in front of a live studio audience at the Knoxville Civic Ballroom, Knoxville, TN Hosted by Charlie Platt and David Crockett Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Champion - Gama Singh Smoky Mountain Tag Team Champions - Don Kernodle & Boomer Lynch Charlie Platt and David Crockett welcome the fans to Smoky Mountain Wrestling Power Hour. Charlie Platt recaps this past Mondays results, practically focusing on the Ken Lucas Ron Starr match that ended the 5-match series where Ken Lucas was crowned new number one contender for the Smoky Mountain Heavyweight title. David Crockett invites Ken Lucas out to the announcers table, Lucas tells Crockett and Platt it’s great to be in line for a title match and he fully intends on taking the title and restoring it to an American who loves his country. Platt and Crockett both congratulate Lucas on winning the 5-match series with Ron Starr, Ken Lucas says he wants to put over how much of a tough competitor Ron Starr is, and although he doesn’t agree with some of Starr tactics, he earned his respect. Lucas makes his way to the ring for our opening contest, his opponent this week is youngster Jimmy Del Ray. The match goes for about 5 minutes and Del Ray puts in a good showing but the veteran Lucas is just too experienced and locks in the sleeper hold for the win. === Commercial === Following the commercial we have Tommy Wright, Pat Rose and Steve Gatorwolf in the ring, when out comes the team of Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and The Memphis Vice, Jerry Bryant and Lou Winston. The match gets underway, the team of Wright, Rose and Gatorwolf are no match for the Memphis natives, the end comes when Lou Winston hits a massive powerslam on Gatorwolf and covers him for the 3 count. Before Lawler, Bryant and Winston can celebrate the Infernos come charging out to the ring and attack the winners, a 6-man brawl breaks out. The locker room empties to split the 6 men up. At this point Les Thatcher the Smoky Mountain Match Maker comes to the ring, he says he’s fed up with this, so this Monday we are going to have 6-man losing team must leave Smoky Mountain Wrestling match, but it’s not going to go all around the arena, in going to be inside a 20-foot-high steel cage. === Run down of this week’s action coming to Smoky Mountain area === We return with The Heartbreakers, ‘Sexy’ Steven Dunn and ‘Toy Boy’ Tony Falk standing with David Crockett and Charlie Platt, Falk says it seems to be a lot of new teams entering the area and taking the Heartbreakers spot, so they spoke to Les Thatcher and if they can win there match this week they will be in line for tag team title match in the future, Platt wishes them good luck as they make their way to the ring. Their opponents this week are The Rich Cousins, Johnny and Davey. The match gets underway and before The Heartbreakers could find their feet, the Rich hit stereo thesz press’ to them and cover them for the 3 count, the match is over in a matter of seconds. Both Falk and Dunn are shocked by this, they argue with the referee about it being a fast count, but referee Paul Morton sends them away. The Rich’s join Crockett and Platt when Ron Wright comes out with the Mongolian Stomper, Ron Wright says his Orient Express aren’t here today, Johnny jumps in and says that’s lucky because after this past week him and his cousin want revenge. === Commercial === We’re back with the Rock N Roll Rpm’s Mike Davis and Tommy Lane with Charlie Platt and David Crockett. Lane and Davis put over the fact that they are the best Rock N Roll team in the world and they are here to take the name from Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton. In ring waiting on the RPM’s are the team of Josh Stroud and Larry Hamilton. The RPMs don’t even wait for the bell and attack Stroud and Hamilton from the off, the match goes for 6 minutes with Davis and Lane in control for the entire match almost, the end comes when Lane and Davis tense a double dropkick to mock the Rock N Roll Express, but instead just hit a double clothesline and Lane covers Stroud for the victory. Following the bell the RPM’s continue their beat down of Hamilton and Stroud, until Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson run out to the ring and chase off the RPM’s. === Run down of this week’s action coming to Smoky Mountain area === Following the break, we have the ring decorated with several Pakistan flags around the ring with Gama Singh standing in the middle, dressed in a smart suit and his title over his shoulder. Gama says at this time he’d like to bring out the new Smoky Mountain Tag Team champions, Boomer Lynch and Don Kernodle. Lynch and Kernodle come out arguing as Lynch is pointing the reluctant Kernodle to get into the ring. Gama praises both men in front of him, he jokes that Kernodle could at least smile considering he just won the tag titles and reminds him that he is in the most dominate stable in wrestling. At this point, Brian Adias and Ricky Vaughan come to the announcers table, Vaughan tells Gama that he knows he got involved and that’s the only reason Kernodle and Lynch won the titles. Kernodle looks at Gama and questions this, Gama plays it down. Adias then jumps in and says because of this, they have been granted a tag team title match this week, and if Gama Singh gets involved then he will be fired from Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Gama trying to not looked phased by this, as Kernodle continues to question whether he got involved last week in the tag title match as we go off the air. === Show Ends ===
  3. Well the second half of the show slipped straight into the CZW of old, which of course is there bread and butter, and can't be knocked.
  4. Currently watching CZW show from this past weekend, I know Sami Callihan has taken over the booking and I don't know when the change in direction started happening, but it's been a very enjoyable show so far. The opening tag match wasn't much, MJF I really liked, hadn't seen him before. Starr-Sabre Jr match was great IMO, I love Sabre Jr "sprint impact" matches he does, it's something he has added to his game over the past year or so, told a great story of Starr just not having at extra bit to finish off Sabre. Certainly seems like CZW are going for more of a mid 2000 ROH feel with their direction. I know they plan to move away from the Deathmatch genre and if this show is anything to go by, I'm all for it...
  5. Up on the Smoky Mountain trading block is... Ken Timbs - A real solid undercard heel or face, probably more suited for enhancement talent on the bigger TV shows Brian Adias - A real good midcard face, will have stuff for him to do, but open to offers. Pat Rose - Similar to Ken Timbs, but could also be used as a useful heel in a tag team with a younger heel. Ron Ritchie - Not all at once for this one, but he is the ultimate fall guy in TV 6 man tags The Memphis Vice (Jerry Bryant & Lou Winston) - These guys had a really good year in 1986 on Memphis TV, these could be the JTTS team your looking for. The Wild Hoggs (Lenny Kean & JR Hogg) - Decent little heel team that could be a low rent Moondogs replacement. Lou Albano - Main player in he early Wrestlemania and Rock N Wrestling era.. Could really do with some faces to offset a heavy heel roster.
  6. Thank s for the feedback guys. There was a couple of bits I really wanted to do with the Lucas-Starr feud, firstly put over the Sleeper (4 of the 5 matches in the series ended with the sleeper) as a killer move and secondly build Ron Starr as a star against a territory legend like Lucas and push him on, now he lost the feud so you guys will have to see where this goes.
  7. I agree with Kevin, with Hall, Luger, Foley, Rude, Hennig etc you've got a great young roster..
  8. Interesting angle with the Midnight Express, really couldn't see Arn as a face, but I suppose this is why it's fantasy looking forward to seeing where this goes...
  9. I smell a rat, Piper shaking anyone's hand doesn't feel right...
  10. I agree, Flair-Garvin is one of my favourite match ups, I'll have to slip off and find my comp Tabe made about this feud, think he missed this match...
  11. That's not good Bob Armstrong lost, I suppose that'll be the last we see of him. Great set of shows here...
  12. Hmmm interesting, where could this be going...
  13. Great to see Phil Hickerson out in Japan earning respect. Brilliant couple of shows, keep up the feel and great work..
  14. Guys got this weeks shows up, will catch up with feedback soon....

In a special 5-on-5 tag match Jerry 'The King' Lawler, The Rock N Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) and The Memphis Vice (Lou Winston & Jerry Bryant) defeat The Flame, The Infernos (Fire & Torch) and The Rock N Roll RPMs (Tommy Lane & Mike Davis) in an all out brawl that went around the arena and through the crowd until the team of The Flame, The Infernos and Rock N Roll RPMs just walked out on the match after this intense brawl when they could handle no more, which didnt really settle anything, the match went 21 minutes. - 6. In tonight's main event, Ken Lucas defeated Ron Starr in a violent Tennessee Death Match that went 32 minutes. Ken Lucas came to the ring with his head bandaged from the attack on Saturdays TV program. It didnt take long for this match to turn into chaos, both men bled heavily, Lucas hit a piledriver onto the time keepers table on Starr, Starr targetted Lucas head when he attacked him with the ring bell, the match came to an end when Lucas slapped on a sleeper hold and a battered Starr passed out to win the series and a Heavyweight Title match. At the end of the match Lucas shoke the hand of the bloodied passed out Ron Starr on the mat as he left the ring.
  16. Smoky Mountain Wrestling is a proud partner of the National Wrestling Alliance Smoky Mountain Power Hour Saturday 11th May 1985 Knoxville Civic Ballroom, Knoxville, TN Taped in front of a live studio audience at the Knoxville Civic Ballroom, Knoxville, TN Hosted by Charlie Platt and David Crockett Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Champion - Gama Singh Smoky Mountain Tag Team Champions - The Wild Hoggs (JR and LK Hogg) The credits roll and we go straight to the ring where Smokey Mountain Heavyweight Champion Gama Singh and the rest of the Karachi Puraa’s Don Kernodle, Vulkan and Mulkan Singh stand in front the apron. Gama starts by congratulating Don Kernodle on his win this past Monday over Ricky Vaughan and Brian Adias, the champion goes on to say the same can’t be said for Mulkan and Vulkan after losing their rematch for the tag titles, Gama says that the Puraa’s had so much promise and they have lost that by not being able to retain the titles and for that they must be punished for their inabilities. At this point a giant man walks to ringside, this is the same man who attacked Adias and Vaughan last Monday. Gama introduces everyone to Boomer Lynch, Singh continues to describe Lynch as the Karachi Puraa’s Insurance Policy, he is here to right the wrongs, and with that Lynch attacks both Vulkan and Mulkan, Gama joins in the attack and orders Kernodle to join in. After a minute or so of beat down Gama calls a halt to the attack, and tells Mulkan and Vulkan they are done with the Karachi Puraa’s, they must go back to their poor American ways, and this Monday Boomer and Kernodle will do what they couldn’t and win back the tag team titles. Charlie Platt joined as always by David Crockett welcome the fans to another week of Power Hour Wrestling, Crockett comments on the hot start to the show this week. === Commercial === Following the break we go to one half of the Heartbreakers, Tony Falk in the ring when Ricky Vaughan makes his way to the ring for our opening contest. Ricky Vaughan makes light work of Falk and hits a spinning forearm and covers for the victory at 4 minutes. Following the match Vaughan joins Platt and Crockett, Ricky tells the announcers that Brian Adias picked up an injury this week and is healing up at home but will be back next week, but this Monday night he has a heavyweight title match against Gama Singh and he promises to take the title for his friend Brian Adias at home. === Run down of this week’s action coming to Smoky Mountain area === After some local promo’s Ron Starr is in the ring for his match this week against Josh Stroud, the match is competitive but Starr comes out on top when he submits Stroud to the Sleeper hold in 6 minutes. After the match, Starr joins David Crockett and Charlie Platt, Platt asks Starr about his shady victory this week over Ken Lucas and going 2 a piece in the best of 5 series. Starr laughs off this comment acting as if he doesn’t know what Platt is talking about and says he won fair and square, and this week he will take the series and the upcoming heavyweight title match. Ken Lucas comes steaming out and confronts Ron Starr, Lucas says he knows exactly that happen last Monday and he’s just got off the phone to Les Thatcher and this week’s match is a Tennessee Death Match and he promises he’s getting that he’s getting the win. Lucas goes to walk off when Starr attacks Lucas from behind and rams his head into the ring post, busting Lucas right open. The locker room empties and drag Starr off a bloody Lucas. === Commercial === We return with a janitor cleaning up the blood left by Lucas. Ron Wright marches his men, The Orient Express and The Mongolian Stomper out to the ring for a 6 man match against Larry Hamilton, Mike Jackson and Ron Ritchie. Ron Wright joins Platt and Crockett, Wright puts over how he has the deadliest team in Smoky Mountain Wrestling and the addition of The Mongolian Stomper means no one, especially the Rich Cousins will be able to stop them. Back in the ring Wright men destroy their opponents in 6 minutes, when Stomper submitted Ritchie in a bearhug, in a match that could of finished much earlier, but Ron Wright wanted his men to make a statement. === Run down of this week’s action coming to Smoky Mountain area === Following the break Tommy Wright and The Shadow (Steven Dunn under a mask) are in the ring ready to face off with the new team in the area Johnny and Davey, the Rich Cousins. The match goes for about 6 minutes when Johnny Rich hits a Thesz press on Tommy Wright and covers him for the 3 count and the victory. Following the match the Rich’s join Crockett and Platt at the announcers desk, Johnny says he’s heard all the nonsense out of Ron Wrights mouth and this Monday they are going to shut it. === Commercial === We return with today’s main event. The Infernos are in the ring with the Flame on the outside, when The Rock N Roll Express come running to the ring to screams from the young girls in the crowd. The match starts and the Express are on fire, Fire and Torch just can’t keep with the younger faster Express team of Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton. The match goes for roughly 10 minutes when The Flame gets involved in the match just when it looks like the Rock N Roll Express have the win in their sights, but the plan back fires when The Flame accidently hits Fire and knocks him out of the ring. Gibson and Morton then hit double drop kicks to Torch and Flame to the outside. Referee Jerry Caulhon throws the match out and declares the Rock N Roll Express as winners, the Express are daring the Infernos to come back into the ring, then from behind Tommy Lane and Mike Davis jump Gibson and Morton. The Infernos jump into the ring and there is a 5 on 2 beat down of the Rock N Roll Express until from the back comes the returning Memphis Vice, Lou Winston and Jerry Bryant who were injured by The Infernos several weeks ago. The Memphis try and balance out the numbers, but the Rock N Roll RPM’s and The Infernos are too much, when from the stage door bursts open, and its JERRY THE KING LAWLER, the crowd goes wild, Lawler piles into the ring and is hitting everyone with big rights and lefts, The King clears the ring. Lawler has been out of action for weeks following The Flame throwing a fire ball into his eyes. Lawler says that if the Infernos and the fake Rock N Roll Express want to fight then they will see them on Monday night for a 5 on 5 tag match, The Flame is shocked Lawler is back as they head to the back with the Infernos and RPMs. === Show Ends ===
  17. Was a heavy weekend with my team winning the league, so massively behind with life this week...
  18. Guys had a mental week here, so will hopefully get this weeks show up in brief notes and back to normal next week...
  19. Why don't we just do a rule where you can book up enhancement guys for one off dates to help with TV tapings?
  20. My comments are about roster size, has nothing to quality in my roster. Everyone has been very accommodating with sending me guys they can spare. I won't be getting any real names, as people can't spare them, and I'm not expecting them too. So maybe we can move away from that and go back to my original point before Lowblow went off on a tangent about how I was being passive argumentative about my roster.
  21. I'm not passive arguing, you ask for an opinion, you didn't understand my point firstly and turn it into me complaining about my roster, who's arguing? If you have 4 jobber packs and 46 standard talent then that's 58? That was my point. In terms of new writers, it was a question and a thought rather than something we need to do. I have no issues with the game and how it's run. Dud to you taking the lead with most on this game, I've asked how I can improve my roster in terms of quality. Again not about my roster, I fully understand my position...
  22. Again I think you've missed my point. I was merely pointing out that at this stage, there really doesn't need to be a cap because it's grown to the point that your only adding people that others don't want, and no one on the free agency can really change a roster drastically because roster are so big they could easily be replaced if needed. To call the cap a boundary is a tad ridiculous when in less than two years of the game it has moved from 32 guys up to almost 60 in some causes. 32 two was a cap, 60 isn't really. I understand we don't want wrestlers just sitting around, and that's why it probably isn't really needed at this point. The league may have to look at what needs to happen if they want more writers to join in future. It wasn't about who I have.
  23. Wasn't the point I was getting at...
  24. Don't really think it makes a difference if it's 49, 50 or 75, there isn't much talent on the free agency that's going to change a promotion drastically at this point.
  25. Loved these shows, The Nightmares unmasking is a nice direction to go in, and Woman managing the Grapplers is great, reminds me of then she managed Doom.
