  1. This WWf stuff is very interesting and not something I've read before. Does anyone know if there are any Expansion threads anywhere in the board? It's something I'd like to read more about...

  3. I'm Tony, I live just outside London and im 26. I've been a wrestling fan since 1992. The way I got into wrestling was thought my dad who was a big World Of Sport fan and we just got Sky just before the boom in the UK (summer 1992). Wrestling would be held monthly at Centre Halls in my small town of Woking thought out the 70s and 80s that my dad would attend, stories he has told would imply him and his mates would be work rate fans rather than Big Daddy fans. We still sit and watch WOS to this day and have a laugh and joke. I would regiously watch WWF at the weekends, Mania (Saturday at mid day), Superstars (5pm Saturday), Challenge (12 on Sunday) and AAW (5pm Sunday). This would be routine from mid 1992 until early 1995 when less and less people watch at school and I played football more and more. I would recorded as much as I could, and label all my PPVs with dates and cards etc. We didn't have a LP VCR so I recorded everything in SP, to have them tapes now, the quality would be awesome. Early 1996 I stumbled across Nitro on Cartoon Network and saw some similar faces and started watching again full time only this time not recording as much. I moved to a new estate in mid 1997 where there were kids who watched Raw weekly and all the PPVs, from there it was non stop. Started secondary school in 98 and everyone watched, wrestling exploded in the UK. You would walk thought town and all the market stalls would be selling posters and t shirts. Because I had recorded so much as a kid I would have alot of stuff people wanted to watch so I started trading my own recordings for Silver Vision tapes. I believe I actually trader tapes via a mate of mine with Mark Sloan, he wanted all the wrestlemanias and I had a live recording of Wrestlemania 9. It wouldn't be unusal to finish school and walk home with 5-6 tapes in my bag from swapping tapes. I even had recordings of ECW from Bravo that no one would want to trade? Thought the next decade I watched everything I could find on TV, but interest was soon lost with my friends. I started following Ring Of Honor in 2005 via the Wrestling Channel and I was hooked more than ever. Started trading full time in 2009, and was introduce to this website by another trader Magnum Milano and I believe this is the best website on the net for my needs.

  9. The Promo for this match is on the 2nd Memphis Bulk we did, but it's a great little match from 30/1/1983, Terry Funk, Jerry Lawler and Koko Ware defeated Bobby Eaton, Carl Fergie and Sabu the Wildman in a Texas Death Match. Also on that disc is a great brawl with Lawler and Norvell Austin against Hickerson and Condry...
  10. Hopefully some of those awesome 70s tags from the Memphis bulks against Hickerson and Condry make the set. Also will his feud with Bret Hart be covered? And also his match with Matt Classic from 10/12/2011?
  11. In comparison to the WWF running MSG once a month too Memphis running MSC 4 times a month, Memphis probably drew the same if not better over the course of the month. Whether thats relevant that's for people to decide, but for example in August 1982 over the course of the month Memphis drew over 35,000. The question is, whether Memphis were to run once a month, would they sell out? Against running 4 times a month drawing say an average of 20,000 and not selling out once?
  12. It probably is, it was only a TV match, but I just remember the heat being unreal and David Crockett losing his mind during the match. Looking back probably not the best choice just really enjoy the match. I second the Cap Centre match between Flair and Steamboat...
  13. Flair vs Windham from Worldwide 1/24/87 and Flair and Arn Vs Garvin and Rhodes from Worldwide 2/22/86 are very much much see in my opinion.
  14. I really enjoyed the rumble, at points it did seem rushed, but like others have said with a 90 second interval, it ha to be. I popped for Goldust, would of love to have seen a Bionic Elbow from Cody to elimate him. Jericho looked fantastic in there and hopefully we get some more interaction with him and Ziggler, maybe a 3 way at Mania for with Del Rio. Bryan and Kane spot was good, thought they could of been used a bit better in the rumble itself. The sequence leading to Jericho being elimated was awesome, his fighting spirit to batter everyone only to be tossed out was excellent. I suppose Cena winning is the plan and as people have said the plan was for the rematch for the title. I don't think will see the Rock after Mania so this give him a little run as champion before Mania, will he be in the chamber? I doubt it but I suppose he'll have to be now. Can't see a rematch for with Punk? Because no doubt they'll have 2 chamer matches? So if the title isn't up for grabs in one of them then it's pointless to have two? We have two number one contenders now (Dolph and Cena) two newly crowned champions (Del Rio and Rock) even if Dolph isn't involved in one of the title matches then it at mania we still only need one contender so one chamber match? Maybe I've read to much into it? Prediction for Mania card... Taker Vs Punk Trips Vs Brock Rock Vs Cena Dolph Vs Del Rio maybe Vs Jericho Rhodes and Shadow Vs Goldust and Dusty

  16. Would have to shuffle a few around to squeeze in Rick Rude...
  17. Bobby Eaton is one of the most underrated wrestlers from the past 30 years. His work with Jimmy Hart in Memphis back in 1982 against Kokomo, to his work with Condry and then in my opinion his best work along side Stan Lane. I haven't seen much of his work post 1990, but his matches with Flair in late 1989 early 1990 are some of the best I've seen. For tag team wrestlers I don't think anyone is better...
  18. His work in 1991 in the Tennessee/Memphis feud is world class, he comes off as sleazy some one could ever do, his promo work is excellent, I've always thought he'd make a very good manager if I was honest. I've heard very good things about his turn in 1992, so looking forward to that...
  19. Top 5 on current viewing all stem from 1990 Yearbook as that's all I've been watching lately. Stan Hansen - I may of missed the boat on this guy but due to my lack of interesting puro, I've never really seen much from him. This guy is awesome though in the foreign environment, the fans look generally concerned when he is swinging his bull rope and cow bell on his way to the ring. His matches with Williams, Gordy and Vader are brilliant, a real riot. On a side note, I can't believe how quick Misawa gets over with the crowd from losing his mask. I'm intrigued with 1990 All Japan now so will be picking up more of that, but really looking forward to the next All Japan match that comes up on the set. Ric Flair - My GOAT if I'm honest but even 1990 he's still the best in the business, the first half of the year Flair is on fire, great matches with Zenk, Eaton and Pillman, let alone his multi man matches, along with his promo work alongside the Horsemen and Woman are excellent. His turn at the beginning of the year is done great, his ability to work against tag team wrestlers and make them look like they may just take the title is world class work. And he must get a nod in his direction for his booking in early 1990. Jerry Lawler - When I was a kid Bret Hart was my favourite wrestler, and I hated Lawler, I mean really hated. Only years later did I realise how good he was because how much I hated him. Now he runs alongside Flair for my GOAT. In 1990 we see such an array of his character, from the cocky heel, to his tweeter work to his full on face. A great year for Lawler and looking forward to his stellar work in the Tennessee/Texas feud which starts at the beginning of 1991. Steve Austin, Jeannie Clark and Percy Pringle - Wow what a trio these guys were in USWA, man did they draw heat. His feud with the next man ill list is the best I've seen in 1990. Too face each other week in week out and still keep it fresh for a good six months is a testament to both of these guys. When WWF dipped into Dallas in 1990 and picked up KVE and Pringle they missed the boat with Austin, even here he is so good. I've been watching alot of USWA 1991 and I keep thinking to myself Austin stands out as the real star here, but watching back at 1990 it's clear 1990 was his star making year. Chris Adams - Like mentioned above I love these two guys feud, from the mixed tag matches, to the Judo/football match and the penalty box match its all great. Fading the lines between reality and fiction would become a regular occurrence in the mid to late 90s, but the feud here is years before its time IMO. Take note, this is how a teacher gets his student over...
