I yearn for monster Kane. it would be great if he was just the monster they unleashed or heck if this leads to a random undertaker appearance I wouldn't be upset. We haven't really had an crazies gimmick in the E for a bit. How I see it breaking down is Kane trying to beat teh Wyatt Family and DQ's or mind game during his matches. Perhaps even the Wyatt's helping him win and match and then beating him down. Finally culminating in Kane vs Bray Kane beating a smiling and laughing Bray Wyatt in some crazy gimmick match... and then Kane cutting a promo on raw basically thanking Bray and becoming the monster for the Wyatt family. it gives time for them to take the Shield angle where ever they intend to take it and gives the Wyatt angle a bit of time to come into something. Then you have Bray Wyatt going for a singles strap and the rest of the wyatt's as road blocks... heck maybe even give them some sot fo sway over an authority figure. Honestly I see the Kane and Bray being a way to truly put over Bray's cult status... heck make him the vacation machine wrestler wants a bit of a break feed him to the wyatts send people to be re educated make it creepy.
  2. This needs to be a comp made at some time. I cannot state enough how much I love me some British Wrestling.

Abso-fucking-lutely! Brodie Lee is a far better worker than he is being used as right now. (Coincidentally I've wrestled him a few times) I always enjoy seeing him on my TV screen and I implore peopel to look up some of his old matches vs Claudio various Chikara wrestlers. Really loving the wyatt family more than the Shield. But I think they just need to spread them out to different sides of the beat down. The Shield - Pack of Dogs... using superior numbers to take someone down who they couldnt take out on their own. Wyatt Family- Pack of Buzzards, tearing apart the fallen. Should be more focused on Bray being a cult leader
  4. If you're in the WWE and you win or lose a match, how much money should you get it(in kayfabe)? Well purse size is directly related to where you are on the card and the event itself. So let's first take out the big events of the year Royal Rumble, Summer Slam, Wrestlemania, and Either Elimination CHamber or Money in the Bank The biggest DRAWS in WWE are John Cena Randy Orton Sheamus CM Punk Daniel Bryan These would be the highest purses so lets say a a Draw would get 2/5 of the purse for signing and the challenger would get 1/5 . Winner would walk out with the 3/4's of what is left and loser would get a fourth. Everyone else would be on a 3:1 ratio. on a sliding scale of what is left of teh overall money. I would think about a million for Raw and smack down 5 million for a PPV and 20 million for the major shows. put aside half of that budget for the main event and the rest is split up among the rest of the card. More than one Main Event match would warrant a higher budget.
  5. Ive got many confirmations that Matt Bourne aka the Original Doink the Clown passed away. He had been working the indy scene lately and had done a few seminars. Always a good guy to talk to and a good hand. I don't have the details as to what caused it but he was found by his girlfriend in Texas.
  6. Hi I am the Negro Suave, also known as Captain Justice Garrison, but ultimately was born as Gerard (Just "G" for short) and I'm 31. I'm from a lot of places, I was born in Brooklyn, NY, lived in Queens, for a while, lived in manhattan for a spell, I spent the longest time in central jersey, ended up back in queens and now I live in philadelphia. Yes it's confusing but really I'm used to moving around. I've been a fan of wrestling since the first time I saw it in summer day camp when I was six years old. My world was completely WWF, I grew up being a huge fan of the Rockers, Demolition, Legion of Doom, Brutus the Barber Beefcake (ironically I wasnt a huge fan of Hogan), to the point I was banned from watching wrestling for a few months because I thought that Mart Janetty "deserved" to get super kicked through the barbershop window. I learned of WCW and began to watch that, and some CMLL whenever i was at my grandparents house (Domincan/Puerto Rican so spanish language channels were always on) and It was a fateful night that I happened upon MSG showing the ECW show and I was hooked there. Like many of us I dreamed of being a professional wrestler, I had friends that were abotu it to and we wrestled in our backyards (Was a film class project even) I eventually found myself a wrestling school and started training. I've been in the biz since 2001 and I am not looking at hanging up the boots anytime soon. Actually happened upon this board because fo a nother person i had met Cox who had been doing the webshow for one of the promotions i work for. When i noted that Goodhelmet was an admin here I was excited to join in on the conversation. My Favorite Wrestlers are Shawn Micheals, Johnny Saint, Demolition, Chris Jerhico, Bret Hart, and Butch Reed. I also like a lot of the modern crop of wrestlers but I've known a few of them for quite sometime and I'm just happy to have seen them make it (Charlie Haas, Antonio Cesaro, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Low Ki, Jay Lethal just to name a few)
  7. Actually the first thing I thought of was the Smackdown or whatever gameit was road to wrestlemania storyline All Stars? I think the Streak storyline on SvR was the 2011 game. Somehow, I doubt this storyline will be as good. But it would be awesome if Punk fought a bunch of druids in a darkened, empty arena. Favourite Undertaker storyline in a SvR video was in 2006, when Eddie Guerrero stole the urn and controlled it. We have a good few weeks of shows yet. We can only hope.

  9. Huh? I'm sorry that has to be one of the most mind boggling things I have ever read. How did a wild man from the jungles of Africa understand how to create his own tribal markings as opposed to the rules of a sport that he wasn't bought in to win but merely to maim and destroy? That's like saying how come someone of asian descent can have so much trouble pronoucing an 'r' sound after speaking english for decades. Not for nothing Kamala is my most favorite stooge character of all time. I love him as a gatekeeper to the main event, and I never once thought to myself "He should do more wrestling holds" It just worked as far as I was concerned. RE: Brian Christopher. - I knew tha would be a rough choice but I just have never been able to get into him he seemed to be trying too hard. But that's my opinion.
  10. I'd say Brian Christopher. Hey got away for a very long time being mediocre to bad at best because he was Jerry's kid. Steve McMichael got away with being awful forever even as a member of the horsemen.
  11. The one i can remember greatly and this may not count because it was a short stint but Mr Tiny "Zeus" Lister had a weakness of his EYES. Does anyone else remember that?
  12. That's pretty much the standard formula even in Japan, just they are done slightly differently or over a different period of time. Where as the American match is self contained a japanese tag would be more doing those steps over several matches as opposed to one match and in mexico it would be across falls.
  13. Hey we all potato rookies from time to time. Hell I think my match for JAP against the Christopher Street Connection was one long potato fest. Ducking out with pay is just wrong. Briscoes were like 15 when I first met them. Skinny young boys they were.
  14. I dont even think her presence had much to do with the angle. I half expected Sable to come out and cat fight with Steph, that woould have made sense in this worked shoot they are trying to do. Right when he was entering had sable come in from the crowd wail on steph get a pull apart happening and not have brock run off by Trips instead having him escorted out by security.
  15. I loved Slick. Daniel Bryan continues to impress. AJ plays the role of a Puerto Rican girl very well (just ask Jay Lethal). I dislike CM Punk as a person however I do believe he is looking like he belongs out tthere and held his own against the Rock. If he can handle a promo battle with the Rock he'll be on his way. Heath Slater is like the indy guy who pays names to work him except he never goes over. Seriously has this done anything for him other than solidify him as a job guy? Seeing Bradshaw means seeing a Clothesline From Hell and my god do I love watching that. Lita's whale tail was a casualty of TV PG, but she made up for it in boob volume. 6 man match was just there. Needed more ziggler eating offense. Sandow held his own out there against DX which was a pleasant surprise. Seems like they don't trust Brodus anymore. His squash matches are getting less interesting and less interactive. Every Indy Wrestler on Twitter: "OMG Steph your are SOOO HOT pleaseogodbookmeisignedupontout" I felt like Heyman rushed his promo. He could have let it sit before he said no but it was likely he was worried about the segment running long. Punk knows how to work around Cena... Big Show? What a surprise I wasn't expecting #BigShow to #runin after you #mentioned him in the god damn #survey before he was shown on screen. I'm calling next wrestlemania now Taker's streak get's broken by his hood. And that's all I can think of right now.
  16. Of note is that Authority Figures in All sports are more prominent these days. It is a topic of conversation in many sports what the Comissioner is doing. Same goes with shoddy officiating and conspiracy theories. Life imitating art?

  18. It's just a ham handed way of looking at it. And even in the realm of something like Game of Thrones, you better believe if the writers decided to change who was wearing the crown, it would be a big to do and whomever it was would be all over the magazines as the latests break out star due to him being "promoted" in the realm of a fake show.
  19. Its a meaningful prop. It does color a wrestlers career. So it's a little rude to call it a prop. It is more an award akin to an Oscar. Let's not pretend that it has zero meaning in the context of the conversation.
  20. Find New stars and Make them. Forget about the WWE all together. Don't mention WWE or even look at former WWE superstars until your stars are standing on their own. Run house shows in every small venue you can. Avoid venues that have connotations IE the ECW arena or the Elks Lodge. The more you can seperate from it the better. Try and find a good deal on a 'home' building and work out from there. Engage the local indy wrestling audience by putting over acts on the undercard. This will help ensure that your house shows will be packed to the rafters, local wrestlers wil bring out family. Put over local talent in their hometown, use that to build more superstars. Fully embrace social media but in a savvy way. Wrestlers should all have twitter accounts at the very least. It is easier to manage than fan mail and seems more personal even if it is a staffer ghost writing it. There should be a podcast, there should be a webshow, there should be blogs and you should post clipped matches and teaser trailers. Engage celebrities. But DON'T make them part of the show. They should be seen as fans because if they are percieved as fans then people see this as something cool to watch as opposed to someone cashing a paycheck. Don't use a pay per view every month format. I would say 4 a year max. Gives you four segments of the year to program for. After this is all in place start looking for sponsors and then look at getting a television show, it needs to be a national deal it should not go head to head with anything that your demographic likes or it should lead right up to something. Sunday evenings before Sunday Night football is to me a prime spot. Invest in the wrestlers, you get more out of people who are invested in the company, that means giving them acess to healthcare. Make them employees give them access to the things that even some wage slaves can get access to. Hire sports and athletics trainers to travel and help train. Once the recognition starts up, you then acknowledge the competition and undercut them. Be another option, but don't try to be the only option, the illusion of choice makes you stronger.
  21. I'll add to that when Vince was doing the play by play on Darren Drozdov puking.
  22. "You know what this sandwich needs? PAUL F'N HEYMAN"
  23. Hey... some of us believe that everything on TV is a work to a certain degree myself being one of them. There is some grade a worksmanship out there.
  24. This is pretty much what I am getting at. Don't let the narrow field of your interests make you believe that Internet Wrestling fans are any more or less villified than internet Star Wars fans, or Internet Harry Potter fans, or Internet Local Sports Team fans. Wrestling is not that special in that regard the only thing that makes it special is the amount of enjoyment or whatever else you get out of it. And the other thing is... Villified by who? Other members of that community? Casual fans dont know the internet fans so who is villifying who?
  25. I don't much understand what this topic is getting at. Wrestling fandom is very much like every other fandom out there in the entertainment world. And the objects of the fandom will either pander to it or ignore at will. I don't think that the moniker is a postive or negative influence.
