Dangerous Alliance Wrestling Podcast Episode #2
jpchicago23 replied to Bigelow34's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I'll echo my sentiments from Facebook and say that I really loved this episode and the chemistry you guys have. The varying backgrounds provide great povs and knowledge for different time periods. My 85 roster would have probably went Lawler, Funk, Bock, Roadies, Slaughter , Arn/Tully, Murdoch, Adonis as my fat guy, Eddie Gilbert and either Butch Reed or Buddy Landell as a future player. I'd probably have to take Lawler and Tully or the Roadies first for it to work but I tried assume guys like Windham,Savage,Dibiase would get taken as I'm picking. -
This hit me harder than most and I wasn't even a huge Dusty mark. I loved Dusty the personality though, his commentary was awesome and he will be missed

Exile on Badstreet #7 = Underground Kingz
jpchicago23 replied to KrisZ's topic in Publications and Podcasts
This was an awesome show, I took the day off today so I drove around and gave it a listen. Really pumped for a Briscoes show as they are possibly my favorite tag team ever. Also if that comp idea comes to light I have my wallet open -
Yea I got it ,I'm just hoping for more food references. I'm hoping the next southern match you love is like some biscuits n gravy.

Good show but Pete lost me when he said one of the matches was like a cup of soup. I'm interested to see what other matches taste like food though

I think one thing that weighs in Parv's favor is that La Parka never became anything state side after WCW. He really only wrestled in Mexico save for the occasional small indy like MLW. I think if people regarded him as a future star in the US someone would surely have given him a shot. That's just a thought and I could be way off as to why he never became bigger but I think there's something there. The other guys that were held down, Jericho,Rey,Eddie,Benoit etc all became something. I'm a fan of La Parka I just never saw him as a big star

I think a guy like Juvy could've been a bigger star albeit not a main eventer

When did the world learn to stop worrying and love the Earthquake?

Quake/Hogan was the very first bit of wrestling I ever saw as a kid so he always holds that spot for me. I also loved his feud with Bubba in 96 -

Good stuff Bill, that Briscoes/Hardys match is one of my favorite tag matches of the last 5 years or so -

All the way to current can count for this topic. 2000-2015. So let the Thatcher and Busick love rain down -

This is the type of feedback I was hoping for as I haven't seen most of this stuff except for a few of the IWA MS matches. -

I'm gonna have to seek that out -
Huge Bret fan but I have to go Bret/Shawn on this one. Some of the matches were good but the legend of the feud destroys the sub par matches it produced.

There's a Danielson vs Low Ki match in PWG,I believe in 08 that is pretty damn good. A lot of interesting limb and mat work that I remember really liking -
Partly inspired by Kris' podcast and the thread at dvdvr. What are the best indy matches that didn't happen in ROH? A few I've seen are: Necro Butcher vs Samoa Joe IWA MS 6/11/05 El Generico vs Eddie Kingston- Chikara Sea of Lost Souls Danielson vs Hero- PWG

All Time Favourite/Best Tag Team and Why?
jpchicago23 replied to JaymeFuture's topic in Pro Wrestling
My pick for favorite would honestly have to be the Briscoes. Pg 13 would be a really close second but speaking from a strict favorite standpoint I'd have to say Mark and Jay. Everything they do entertains me. Their country ass promos, their innovative moveset, their ability to bleed and brawl, they have everything I want in a good team. I find it harder personally to rate absolute bests against what I deem as favorites but if I really thought about it Condrey and Eaton along with Arn and Tully would be the teams I considered the best -
Parv, for a guy that doesn't follow the current product I'm pretty surprised to see you give Reigns/Lesnar the full 5. Care to shed some light on that? Not challenging, just would like to see an opinion of it from someone that doesn't currently watch. Also have you seen the Rumble triple threat?

Flair's podcast (WOOOOONation)

I love Bret's dry personality for some reason. He's my favorite wrestler so I'm biased but I just find him hilariously cheesy sometimes albeit unintended. When he did the yes chant at the HOF he was the most awkward but it was funny as hell to me. He's just a dork but I love it. I absolutely hate Lance Storm for most of the same reasons so yea can't explain it -

Exile on Badstreet #3 = The Rebirth of the Indies
jpchicago23 replied to KrisZ's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I echo Dylan's sentiments about it being one of the best podcasts I've ever heard. I got off early today and took a 2 and a half hour detour from my normal route home to listen to this. I went from Tampa to Lakeland to Bradenton and back to Tampa and it was such a good drive listening to this show. Rob and Wes were great guests and Kris brought it as usual. I have so much to seek out after listening to this show. Will the next show delve into the mid 00s or stay around this general period? Either way I can't wait -

You're killing it with the show topics damn it. Keep it up -
I've been back into a territories mood as of late due to Kris' podcast and watching Cornette's series with KC. I'm going to try and do a massive watching/rewatching venture and need a few pointers on stuff thats not already on one of the 80's territory sets. I'm talking classic matches, angles, promos and anything else memorable. Off the top of my head this would be stuff from Mid-Atlantic/Crockett,Portland,Georgia,Florida,Houston,Southwest,CCW,Central States,PR,the left out WWF stuff and probably a few others im forgetting. I have a few off hand already such as the "I'd like to talk to Tom" angle and the Hansen/Colon feud but after that i need a little help. There could even be things left off the territory sets that are essential as well.
