  1. Speaking of wrestling parents, have they even attempted an explanation for why Adam Pearce hates Rey Mysterio all of a sudden?
  2. If Omega wants to heal up, he should seek treatment from a real doctor and not a quack chiropractor.
  3. New #1 for 2021.
  4. Same here. That was the best pure brawl to come down the pike in ages. Punk is probably the smartest wrestler in the world right now.
  5. It does seem that balancing out the coke rages with roid rages is the key. When you only work with one half of the equation, you end up like Herb Abrams.
  6. Beating Savage for the title might have been better for Warrior in the long run, though. For one thing, Hogan/Warrior actually drew a disappointing buyrate. In fact, it was nearly outdrawn that year by Summerslam. Also, Hogan did far more to get himself over in the loss than he did to get Warrior over in victory. And even if he hadn't, by forcing the fans to pick a side, it seems inevitable that Warrior would have come across as the lesser star. There's a reason Pedro or Backlund never beat Bruno.
  7. One of the Spice Girls called Sami Zayn a pussy. Probably the weirdest Mad Libs feud since Randy Orton vs. Soulja Boy.
  8. WWE has more of a leg to stand on here since they own UUDD and always have. Also, the G4 deal is an official WWE content partnership. Regardless, it goes without saying that wrestlers who work on their own time to get themselves over as stars, especially to a younger demographic, should be rewarded for their hustle and not nickel and dimed. The guy who wrote the Pillman book (he posts here sometimes, but I don't remember his username) said on the F4W board someone in the know told him at the end of August that Woods has one foot out the door and he and Big E are going to AEW once their contracts are up. You'll note that since then, Big E has become WWE champion and Woods has become King of the Ring. Hopefully they know their value and won't be marks for a belt or a push.
  9. Don't forget about Big Show's quickie 2002 reign and the last few months of CM Punk's year-long reign. Didn't Heyman also manage Show when he was ECW champion?
  10. Heenan in the WWF managed a revolving door of heel challengers to the dynastic babyface champion. Heyman manages long-term heel champions, which is a completely different dynamic. He's a lot closer to AWA Heenan. Going back to the question I posed in the Crown Jewel thread over who should be considered the greatest manager of all time in kayfabe, I wonder how close the cumulative world title reign length of Heyman's clients is to the time Bockwinkel spent as AWA champion while managed by Heenan.
  11. That doesn't look all that different from how Ricky Steamboat would sell his throat in his matches with Randy Savage.
  12. Stop me if you've heard this one before...
  13. I need to say that I hate hate HATE that thing Danielson does where he bends his opponent's arm back so their hand is on the mat and their elbow is sticking up and then stomps on it. It's like, dude. Just roll out of the way. Is your hand glued to the mat? Any wrestling that forces someone to sit there and take an opponent's offense like an idiot is bad wrestling.
  14. Vince has openly stated that he pays for rehab solely for PR purposes and he takes no responsibility for wrestlers' drug problems. Also, let's remember that it took the Benoit murders to get them to institute a wellness policy that wasn't a total joke.
  15. I said a while back that WWE is quite tolerable if you cherry-pick. Subjecting someone to everything they put out on a weekly basis should be outlawed by the Geneva Conventions, but they produce so much content and have so many talented workers that some good stuff is bound to slip through the cracks.
  16. Sounds like a great place to work for.
  17. WWE clearly saw her as a big star. She was always heavily pushed and protected and allowed to get away with what would be firing offenses for most wrestlers. But it looks like there's a good chance I was wrong on that call, so I'll take the L there. As for the other releases, the Observer says the number going around is that 5 of the 18 were unvaccinated but one talent in the company says the number is larger.
  18. If Murdoch does make it back on, I suspect the Klan thing will weigh much more heavily on the minds of voters than it did in the past.
  19. A WWE source apparently told the New York Post that Nia was released partially because she was unvaccinated. https://nypost.com/2021/11/04/keith-lee-karrion-kross-nia-jax-among-surprise-wwe-releases/ She commented on the release on her IG. Note how coy she is when discussing her vaccination status, only saying that it was never mentioned. If she was vaccinated, you'd think she would explicitly say so.
  20. We need to talk about how Tamina keeps managing to avoid the ax when you figure she'd be among the first on the chopping block. She's never been remotely good or over, she's about as far from WWE's cosmetic ideal as you can get, she's well above the age cutoff, and her family name is poison. I genuinely have no idea how she does it.
  21. The latest Observer says the wrestlers released for refusing the vaccine weren't big enough stars to get away with it, so that would seem to rule out Nia. That also raises the question of which WWE stars are unvaxxed. Talent can't work overseas without being vaccinated, so anyone who worked Crown Jewel is apparently out.
  22. Eva Marie gone as well. I'm sure everyone recognizes that experiment was a complete failure.
  23. Ember Moon as well. I can't be the only one shocked that Scarlett got the axe before Karrion Kross. Like a lot of people, I figured it'd be a Sable/Marc Mero scenario.
  24. I suspect the real issue was SDS saying he spoke to Brodie's ghost and drew on his spirit energy. I took it as Jericho and Amanda telling him not to use Brodie's name to clout chase because he didn't know him like that.
