  1. *Special TTBA spoiler: we plan to devote an entire episode to Survivor Series 87*
  2. Matt, pimp me some Demolition vs Billy Jack Haynes and Ken Patera while you're around
  3. Looks like there are about 3 matches from 87 to choose from and a bunch from early 88, all against the Glamour Girls, including a match at the first Royal Rumble
  4. Superstar Sleeze and myself plan to check out a few matches featuring this team on an upcoming Tag Teams Back Again podcast. What are some of their highlight matches available online?
  5. You know Vince and his motivations so well. Fuck man, none of your beloved old wrestling promoters were saints that were destroyed by the Devil McMahon. Vince wanted the biggest stars to help make him more money, of course. He didn't take those stars because he had a burning desire to ruin lives and destroy wrestling.
  6. James didn't include any of the April 83 Cap Center card on his 79-83 set
  7. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoT5DdbAIJkRsL9rneqVrtA
  8. It must be, because that was the first ever televised MSG card.
  9. I'm not sure about that. I want to say I've come across it before but not sure
  10. We are going to try our best to get things back to a twice a month sched. The last half of 2015 saw a bunch of different personal commitments converge for all of us, which limited the amount of possible recording time. Hopefully 2016 will be better. If we do keep up a twice a month sched we will likely finish off Backlund's run around August or September. We could also slow things down and look at individual MSG and Spectrum shows again. I've often thought we wouldn't continue into the Hogan era, but I know Parv is at least interested in exploring 84-85, so who knows
  11. Hey, all I wanted to know was how Johnny called you out on the show. You didn't specify it was on the board. Sorry if that offended you.
  12. Vince booked the Streak. Why would he book something he didn't want?
  13. I get that, but that sentence doesn't make any sense. How was Johnny calling him out?
  14. "If you're going to call me out for what you feel is undeserved amateur psychology of Vince McMahon, that was darn insensitive." I don't understand what you mean here
  15. There's a photo of Hansen wrestling Flair in a recent Fighting Spirit mag, so it definitely happened. Suspect it was the Carolinas though. According to wrestlingdata their singles encounters happened in Georgia, including two shows at the Omni in 82 and 84 for the NWA title
  16. He's still having trouble coming to terms with that fact
  17. Yes, that is a great book. In a similar vein and equally as good is the Gorgeous George biography from 2008
  18. I've considered it. I once produced 4-5 videos of selected biography segments from early Titans of Wrestling shows, and those were time consuming. Also considered a youtube podcast, which evolved into Titans Xtra. Basically I don't think it's really worth the extra effort as far as attracting new listeners is concerned, but who knows, I may try again sometime in the future
  19. I recommend both, but some do find Hornbaker's prose better suited for a textbook
  20. I had a blast doing this show with Marty "Superstar" Sleeze for the past year, so check it out if you haven't already. 1985-1987 WWF tag wrestling is thoroughly discussed, as well as special topics like Tommy Rogers of the Fantastics and the Midnight Rockers vs Buddy Rose and Doug Somers feud from the AWA. https://soundcloud.com/jerryvonkramer/sets/tag-teams-back-again Look out for the next episode, and first of 2016, Part 2 of our history of the Strike Force vs the Islanders feud, within a week!
  21. Sharpe was a pushed mid carder with Albano as his manager when he debuted in 1983. He even had a shot at Backlund in the Spectrum. By 1986, yes, he was a jobber.
  22. Look back on the year that was for the Fabulous Four, or listen to any eps you may have missed (including the secret 3rd 1970s Mid Atlantic show!), all here in this handy playlist https://soundcloud.com/jerryvonkramer/sets/titans-2015
  23. With hindsight you could argue that they shouldn't have ended the Streak when they did, but I think Vince made the right call at the time. He thought Roman was going to be over enough a year later to get the rub from beating the man who ended the Streak, but he was off by a year
  24. It's all good now
  25. That stuff doesn't really bother me, honestly. And I think he used other spots, like being crotched in the ropes for instance
