  1. It was also the millionth time a friend had turned on Hogan, so that didn't make it feel very shocking or important
  2. The melodramatic story of his incarceration and impending release reported by serious as a heart attack Mean Gene week after week on TV and the in-ring debate with Heenan that ends with Patera wrapping Heenan's own belt around his neck, wrenching him with it and giving him whiplash were by far the high points of this run. I haven't re-watched any matches he had from this time, but don't think I'm missing anything
  3. I'm trying, but the image entered my mind the second I read it. 😝
  4. You just articulated that point about Savage way better than I did on Steven's Makin a Case pod a few weeks back
  5. Farmer did the drawing research, and yes Flair was #2, based on how many cards he main evented on shows that drew 10k + fans
  6. My list will factor in everything I consider makes a pro wrestler great. In ring and otherwise
  7. http://placetobenation.com/titans-of-wrestling-55-roddy-piper-tribute-part-1/ Titans of Wrestling returns with part 1 of a special epic two-part look at the career of pro wrestling legend "Rowdy"Roddy Piper! 8. Hey, I'm going on 10 minutes and that was the impression I got
  9. My "masturbatory tripe" comment was a bit much, so I apologize. To each their own. I'm just not a fan of pods that put hyping themselves over the content. But what do I know, I only listened to the first 10 minutes
  10. Judy, if you don't like Titans, that's cool. I don't like your favorite pod.
  11. Yeah, and Philly, Boston, Toronto...so much potential house show footage to draw from
  12. Masturbatory tripe for those who lap up the WWE version of wrestling history and ask for more
  13. I only listened to the first 10 minutes of the Starrcade 84 one. I thought it was the worst kind of "getting oneself over instead of the content over" I've ever heard. But that's just me
  14. Twins are usually born seconds apart, not years apart ☺
  15. I'll have what he's smoking
  16. That's lame
  17. Stumbled on this earlier. Pretty awesome collection of 122 Piper's Pit's (complete?), conveniently in chronological order. This channel was linked earlier-big time Roddy fan. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhREHzJ0Z0rX72wWub2b3fX637Yntj26z Also, myself Johnny Sorrow and Marty "Superstar" Sleeze are planning to put together an epic career retrospective podcast on Piper later this week. Stay tuned

    NXT talk

My guess is they want to tell the story of Bayley on the road back to regaining the title from the monster for a Mania weekend show, so Jax has to win the title now
  19. Awesome. Thanks man
  20. Does any footage of the matches they had in Australia back in 09 or whenever exist? I'm listening to the Flair pod with Hulk right now and they talk about the bloodbaths they had on that tour and I now have a morbid curiosity to see one
  21. Really great worker from 1984-1988. Excellent as a babyface and as a heel. Great tag wrestler. Fun matches as a kid against Piper in 84. Great matches with the Islanders in 86 and 87, both as faces and heels. One of the more underrated talents of the 80s IMO
  22. Sylvester Ritter vs "Irish" Paddy Ryan on 11/12/78 Stampede is a fun, messy five minute brawl with Ryan bleeding all over the place
  23. Rodz should not be clumped in the "undeserving" group
