  3. At the very least, the first HIAC with Taker vs Shawn HAS to be on there. I vote no on Taker vs Mankind, it's more of a story of Mankind's surival rather than any great brawl. But I'm not gonna gripe with anyone who desires for it to be included, I get the historical importance. I can take or leave the TLC's. I enjoy spotfest matches for what they are. I feel like if one is included, they all need to be to have some perspective on how they all played off each other (this includes the long-forgotten TLC 3 with Jericho and Benoit defending their titles.)
  4. Closest thing to a deathmatch I wanna see on there are the two big ROH vs CZW matches (100th Show and Death Before Dishonor 6).
  5. It looks like it's taking the slot of Legends House.
  6. Johnny Sorrow for the win! Briscoe's was far and away the most disgusting thing I've seen in wrestling so far.
  7. I would vote YES to both Cena vs Wyatt at Payback and Raven vs Punk in the Dog Collar match. I watched Payback with a VERY casual wrestling fan (basically, he only watched when I'm in town) and he was losing his shit for the Cena vs Wyatt match, especially when Cena tossed the stairs.

  9. Loss, that's an incredible encyclopedia to have. I am so stoked for this e-book.
  10. I personally can't wait to watch EVEN MORE wrestling. 1998 Yearbook, anyone? (ducks tomatoes thrown by Will and Loss)
  11. History of WWE website doesn't show a show on October 31, 1999 for Heat, but I've seen at least one other listing that does indeed show a Sunday Night Heat on that night that has Acolytes vs Hollys No Holds Barred Match.

  15. For the record, it wasn't me asking....this time.
  16. I second War Games 91, simply for Sid trying to take another man's life via powerbomb.
  17. I am working on the yearbook for 1998 and the Home Video version also edits out Highway to Hell You get your fill of the song in the RAWs leading up to the show. I'm just excited that the 1998 Yearbook is officially in motion.
  18. I think the thing about Steiners vs Sting/Luger, to me at least, was it was the first true "spotfest" I can ever recall seeing. I had just gotten into wrestling about six months prior, but even in that short amount of time, I was able to ascertain the formula of matches and knew that at some point, the dreaded resthold was gonna creep into the match somewhere to slow things back down to pace. Only in that match....it never happened. Also, I wasn't indoctrinated into WWF viewing yet, so a babyface vs babyface matchup was BRAND NEW to me, having not been witness to Warrior vs Hogan and the like yet.
  19. Indeed, I meant the originals purcharsed from Ring of Honor. Apologies if I overstepped my bounds or if there was any confusion. Feel free to delete.
  20. Admins, feel free to move this if it's too much of a shill, but it is somewhat on topic. I have the whole lot of ROH from 2003 - mid 2007, and all of it will be going up on a popular auction site very soon. PM me if anyone is interested in details.
  21. My thesis in college was on Ethnoviolence and Counter-Culture Terrorism in the World Wrestling Federation from the years 1996-1998. 22 pages. So yeah, people know I'm a fan. To the person who asked if anyone started after the age of 12....that's me. Well, AROUND that age. I think I might have been on the down side of 11, it was around Starrcade 90 (why, oh why, did I think the Black Scorpion angle was awesome??) To the person who asked if anyone was watching during 1994 - 95....that was me again. WCW in 94 was actually fantastic until Hogan and his Orange Soul-Glo showed up. I'm very fortunate in that a good many of my friends in the area are, at the least, casual fans. My best friend will get super into Rumble and Mania season, then die down the rest of the year. (I dragged him to a Chikara show in NC with me, though, and he was NOT down with that. Lesson learned.) I've found I can get ANYONE to watch the Rumble with me if you do a Rumble pool, something they can have a rooting interest in. And now, I can show pretty much anyone some PWG highlights and their jaw drops a little. So there's that. So I guess my answer would be I don't exactly bring it up, but I certainly make no attempts to hide it either. I love wrestling. I have since late 1990 and I will continue to do so until I shuffle off this mortal coil.

  25. I think was as diehard a Chikara fan as ANYONE over the past three years, to the point where I owned most every event of theirs since 2006, traveled to two events far out of my way, and visited the message boards almost every day. The whole shebang since the promotion closed in June has actually turned me off so much that I have since (or am in the process of) sold every single one of those shows. It's been convoluted, bizarre, and unnecessary. More importantly, you're not going to obtain ANY new viewers because of this, and many viewers you did once have have since been lost (perhaps for good). Mike didn't have to come out with the TRUTH (or whatever we think to maybe know MIGHT be the truth of the situation), but he could've saved WORLDS of goodwill by simply admitting that the promotion "needed to take a break and may return one day soon." Not some manifesto-ish angle that you need a 10-page document to follow.
