  1. The problem with Texas Death Matches for me has always been that the pinfalls come too easy. I always take that as the wrestler not bothering to kick out because the match still continues after that and it isn't a loss. From a kayfabe point they're probably fully able to kick out.
  2. I thought Orton/Cody was at best "decent" and I just finished watching it right now. Finish was hard to watch, I felt for Cody since there's almost no way he could have made that look good.
  3. I get bothered by WWE wrestlers saying things like they're announcing something (well, they are announcing something, I guess) and it comes off as so inorganic. Two wrestlers are in a yelling match and pretty clearly don't like each other and one of them says "OK, IT WILL BE _MY NAME_ VERSUS _YOUR NAME_ FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP!" I get it's advertising or whatever and I probably shouldn't be bothered by it but it's just so lame. I feel embarrassed watching it and greatly hope nobody comes into the room when something like that is said.
  4. Martin Kirby worked Finlay in 2011 and Noam Dar worked John Morrison this year. Stixx worked Chris Masters and Dave Mastiff and is a big buff bald dude who brings chains to the ring. I've heard of Mark Haskins and Nathan Cruz but IDR where. What a ring name "Loco Imbecil" is.
  5. I can't think of anybody outright better than Hashimoto.
  6. Has this been posted anywhere yet? Apologies if so. - At Friday night's St. Louis Anarchy wrestling event, former ROH World Champion Davey Richards told the crowd that he was "headed to Connecticut" to prove he is the "real Best in the World." He stated that he had done all there was to do in the indies after his match with ACH, whom he defeated by submission. http://www.WrestlingInc.com/wi/news/...#ixzz2R85LvIfV

I watched the majority of Christian's run recently (last year, this year, IDR), and it kind of blew me away. I didn't bother looking up specific matches but instead looked at every single match he had week-to-week and I cannot remember a really disappointing match. I couldn't find links for all of them and I stopped around September, but his output of good was outstanding. Worked with Swagger, Dreamer, Regal, Ryder, Kidd, DH Smith, Tatsu, Benjamin, Kozlov.....all really good. Picking which matches that WOULDN'T show on a comp would be tough as hell. Of the thirty+ I watched there were probably five I didn't think were THAT good, and, again, I didn't finish. I've been saying for months I want to watch all of 2008 ECW and I will do it some day for sure. Finding the links may be a bitch b/c I don't get Hulu.
  9. Th whole show was uploaded on youtube but seemingly won't play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkqe73q3eoU
  10. HHH wrote on twitter that the 'stuff' on his body at Mania was dry ice, and he got 2nd degree burns from it.
  11. Rey's been really handicapped by that as well. His injuries don't help, but he's rarely had ten minutes each year at Mania. The Eddie match from 05 and Rhodes match from 11 are his only Mania matches where he got over ten minutes. Though even then he's pulled out awesome short matches with Hardy and Punk.
  12. It's really never been my thing either. I will fully say I've always seen it as a good match and I definitely wouldn't say I don't care for it, but it's never hit that home-run level in my eyes that it hits in others'. I should really watch it again to decide whether it was me who didn't see how good it is (like Hansen v Kobashi -a match I didn't really 'get' until re-watching it and being blown away), or whether I just flat out don't think it's THAT good (like Michaels v Taker at Mania 26 - I tried and tried to love it but I'm not sure I'd even call it 'very good', and while watching it I actually sit there and wonder why anybody calls it a classic. It doesn't really have a large amount of flaws, but not much really stood out as "THAT WAS GREAT". I felt that way every time I've watched Savage v Warrior). No matter what I think of Savage v Warrior on my next watch, unless I'm remembering wrong, the finish to the match fucking blows. Warrior kind of 'kicks' Savage, then Randy lands on his feet on the outside, then Warrior pulls him in the ring and lays one foot on Savage to win.
  13. I assumed he meant their brains are so small they'd fly out of their nose if they were blow them. And if the brains were dynamite they'd destroy parts of Calgary, so blowing your nose wouldn't be legal. I guess I'm not totally sure whether he means 'able' as in 'physically able', or 'able' as in 'allowed to', though I'm assuming the latter.
  14. I don't have much a problem with different opinion, hell, I disagree with pretty much every single one of the people I talk to online frequently to the point where we call each other shitheads for the hell of it ("I thought you'd like it more than that. Cunt."). But it's the ones that can't see MY ('OUR' 'THE OTHER' etc) point of view that are annoying. If I say John Cena's a better wrestler than Chris Jericho and the replies I get are "this is sad" "hope you are trolling" "facepalm" and some falling-out-of-your-chair-.GIF, then why on EARTH would I want to talk to those people? I actually TRIED. I legitimately asked if anyone wanted to have an actual talk and I still got the same bullshit. I later said the Michaels/Angle match at WrestleMania 21 was my least favourite Shawn Michaels WrestleMania match and was met with the same shit. I tried to talk to those people, I really did, but they have to post that dumbass BS just for the simple fact they had no idea how to argue their point when I asked to talk more than "hurr u iz delusional". It's like the people that get seriously mad and/or laugh at the WrestlingKO results when they're posted on other boards, it's like, why even bother communicating with these people? Also, there is a thing where posters just don't want wrestlers to go unrecognised. If there's a poll that's Lance Storm v Jerry Lawler and Storm is winning, the only possible conclusion is that the voters really haven't THE Jerry Lawler (right........?), which is a shame since Jerry in his peak should be as well known as any wrestler there is. People like having their favourites appreciated.
  15. There's a good chunk of Raven promos on the 96 yearbook and pretty much all of them looked forced. I'm not 100% sure how you'd describe his character, but for an intelligent quasi-psychotic who was notable for promos at the time, Brian Pillman showed up in ECW and did that 15 million times better (and beat up a pencil which slides it in a hugely unfair tilt). Raven was the least interesting part of all of those pulp fiction montages and his rambling about Whatever the Shit it Was just sounded nonsensical instead of sounding like it came from an eccentric mastermind. I liked that part of a pulp fiction montage where he laughed and cackled like a serial killer, s'about it. Isn't there an ULTIMATE GREAT Raven v Kaz Hayashi?
  16. Second the 6YA match w/ McGuinness.
  17. v Benoit @ Slamboree 97,
  18. Yeah, it definitely did. Well, maybe post-match, but by the end of his appearance on the show he had the IC Title and no hair-tie.
  19. I kinda hope Henry wins the WHC at Mania, and then Ziggler cashes the briefcase in and Henry mutilates him in 20 seconds. Oh who am I kidding? I *REALLY* want that to happen.
  20. That match there has like the greatest steel steps bump ever by Henry. I loved loved loved that match and they were actually building a match on a later week that was shaping to look just as good before Khali debuted and ruined it.
  21. Loss without the avatar is depressing. I'd read a really great Loss post and look at Flair in picture with his head up, almost like Flair was saying "I just made a great fucking point". Loss is pretty great at taking words that are in my head that I can't put on paper but actually putting them on paper. Now I won't get to look at Flair with his chin up and be all "yep, I did it again." Not that I took anything Loss said as offensive to anyone, but I think it was more clear Will was light-hearted calling the Kane fans 'weird' than it was Loss saying Bret > Flair is 'stupid'. Kinda comes down to the whole 'there's no sarcasm text' thing or 'I forgot a smiley'. On topic of the thread, I think reading through this would be a good indication of how someone could think 1000 workers are better than Helmsley. Dylan thinks Michaels is obviously better than HHH, so you could take all of the wrestlers he listed in the Michaels top 100 thread, add them with these, add the ones he mentioned in passing, he could fill in gaps.....it's believable.
  22. I actually like HHH, but I could named probably 300 at this point I think are better. Fast forward until twothousandandnever when I've seen as much wrestling as Dylan Waco......I think I could see 1,000 guys/gals being better. Would make for an interesting topic (AKA gigantic list with no other words).
  23. I'm really surprised anybody could criticize lucha for being old legends and weak ass strikes while praising 2000s Michaels. I don't even think Michaels strikes are as bad as the reputation they have (some places, apparently) , but good GOD can they be bad. I can't help but think his chop would look better if he stopped it at the chest and didn't throw his arm all the way. Not to mention it looks like he's high fiving his opponent's nipple.
  24. That would really, really surprise me.
  25. I thought the 2/3 falls match Blackwell had with Butch Reed in '82 was better than all but a handful of Taker matches ever and I'm a pretty massive Taker fan.
