  1. Mikey has never beaten anyone going back to Kindergarden. He is low on confidence but knows he can beat Jason. He even mocks him a little. Mikey really does look like a kid in these promos.
  2. Figured with the way the G1 was going so far we would get another short match. Not the case. For even for a while and quite physical. Hash uses some hip action of his own with a banzai drop type move. Koshinaki starts hitting a bunch of powerbombs and gets some really close counts. I thought once Hashimoto takes over towards the end that he will win but Shiri survives to earn the draw. Good match and best of the G1 so far.
  3. Nice little TV match with Bunk working the arm and Dustin going after the leg. Good chemistry between the two. Tony points out that Dusty and Dustin have never tagged together outside of Japan. Post match action with Dusty hitting Elbows. Another pull apart with Dusty and Meng who continues to look strong. Gene after all this talks about not needing to get on Hogan’s bandwagon and Heenan tells him to shut up. Go Bobby!
  4. Ricky seems to be smitten with Tammy from all these segments/promos. She would still look pretty hot being bald.
  5. Dory goes over the Texas Death Match rules and proceeds to hold the mic for the rest of the promo and barely moves. If not for the blinking he would be a complete statute. Terry has trouble remembering all the names of the Armstrongs.
  6. You can smack Martin Luther King across the face but not New Jack as he will hit back. The crowd legitimately seems to not want to be listening to these type of promos.
  7. Super quick match that leads to Sid whipping a couple of guys at the announce table. Sid is pained to have do all this. Gaylord comes out to help and gets two powerbombs by Sid. Another promo by Justice before hitting a third powerbomb.
  8. The outside involvement was too much in this match. Referees were definitely more involved too then necessary. This finish was confusing me as there was a heel ref but he still called a decision for Sagrada. But it's mask versus mask so it does have a special feeling to it.
  9. Good match. Totally looks like Choshu is going to make the ropes while in the leglock and then taps. Quite surprising. I'm still not completely into Fujiwara but he has been impressive on this 1994 set though I still preferred in performance the most in the six man tag match.
  10. Jericho has to wrestle left handed and you can see him struggle at times to not use his right arm. Must have been tough to switch things up like that at the last minute. Jericho gets really bloody and they stop the match. But it restarts again and Thrillseekers pull out victory out of nowhere. The victory out of nowhere has popped up on a bunch of matches lately on yearbook.
  11. Ross found work pretty quickly after getting fired. Thought he was good on the mic in the Bret/1-2-3 Kid match. New Jack talks about people being silenced. Putting Martin Luther King and Arsenio Hall in the same category. New Jack is not a NAACP member.
  12. The participants are not my cup of tea for sure. One of the Headhunters does hit a pretty decent top rope drop kick. Impressive for a guy that size. Headhunters do a couple impressive looking fat guy stuff but overall this was just there. Dragged a bit at times. Cut a few minutes minutes off and it would be better.
  13. I'm probably in the middle of you guys as far as my reaction to this. I did enjoy that the last few minutes stretch with the close pinfall attempts. It was nice to see some back and forth action compared to the other G1 stuff so far which had decisions coming out of nowhere in the matches. It was a pretty good match but it more comes off as the better match so far of a weak looking G1 tourney.
  14. I was just waiting for Fujiwara to counter the running bulldog with a armbar. Best thing about this match was Fujiwara's random headbutt after the match. That had me laughing. Okay the best thing is Yatsu having the Back to the Future music as his theme. Another okay match with a random finish out of nowhere. G1 overall seems to be lacking in high quality matches.
  15. Fine match for what is was. Didn't blow me away but was solid overall. G1 so far has been average though.
  16. Very mat based for a while before Mutoh hits repeated suplexes. Fujiwara is all over Mutoh's cartwheel elbow and makes him tap out. Take that Mutoh! Two matches in a row from G1 with complete random victories out of nowhere.
  17. Hase does not one but two giant swings on Hash. Shinya has enough of that and knees and kicks him to pieces. Becomes totally one sided and then out of nowhere Hase rolls him up. That was kind of cool. Not much else other than the random shock victory though.
  18. Lawler takes some great shots at Savage who can only shake his head at this. Lawler is fantastic here. I love how Backlund stares into the camera when he does his promo which is good. Don't like Vince and Savage talking over Mr. Backlund though.
  19. I’ve seen this a couple times now and I keep expecting it to grow on me more but it hasn’t yet. It’s a good match and Michaels is pretty impressive for his return with his bumping. There are less chinlocks from Michaels also. It is refreshing to see these guys go without a ladder involved. Would have liked to have seen them do a PPV non ladder match to see how much they could have done. Even though Razor is chasing Diesel at this point for IC Title, Michaels manages to pull off the victory. I had wondered about Michaels lack of ring action in 94 with him not doing much on the the PPVs outside of WrestleMania.
  20. Vince’s return to announcing Raw. He is very happy. Savage gets in some digs at the government. Oh, didn’t realize the verdict came down the same day.
  21. I completely missed the finish I was I was checking to see if Sherri was okay as String press slammed her from the ring to the floor. They show a replay of this where Flair doesn't really break her fall at all. They don't show a replay of the finish of the match though. I wasn't really high on this match from my viewing. Yeah, they worked hard but I felt there were ups and downs through the match. They weren't the most natural of tag partners. Post match interview, Sting challenges the winner of Hogan versus Flair.
  22. Meng looks so badass here. He doesn’t back down from Dusty and the rest of babyfaces. But this segment is about Dusty’s promo which is fantastic. Yes Loss provides the transcript but you have to watch this to see both Dusty and Dustin’s emotion and the crowd reaction to all this.
  23. Announcement for Hogan vs. Flair rematch at Clash of the Champions as Bockwinkel reads this whole thing off a piece of paper. Had almost forgotten about this match. Bockwinkel with another one of his harsh fines.
  24. Lord Alfred Hayes appears to be one of Leslie Neilson’s suspects in Undertaker’s disappearance. They tie in the Summerslam sponsor with Undertaker delivering pizza which Neilson misses when he under the desk picking something up.
  25. Backlund comes down to the ring with no entrance music and gives the crowd a big thumbs up. I haven’t seen this since originally watching it on Superstars at the time so my memory isn’t the best about match. Great match. I liked them being able to use pinfalls compared to the Submission match as allowed for all these bridge attempts by Backlund. Bob does some of his impressive strength feats including twice bridging out of pin attempts. Backlund celebrates too early and ends up going down to Bret’s small package move. They shake hands at first and when Bret goes for another handshake, Backlund snaps. Love when he just stares at this hands after letting go of Bret. Always thought the Cross Face Chickenwing was a sweet move.
