[1994-10-22-USWA-TV] PG-13 vs The Phantoms / The Undertaker vs Sid
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in October 1994
Cool highlights from both matches. It's always amusing to me that Taker wrestled in other places during his WWF run like USWA and M-Pro. The M-Pro appearance was far more absurd but this was still interesting. -
[1994-10-22-AJW-Tag League The Best] Manami Toyota vs Takako Inoue
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in October 1994
This didn't really do it for me. I don't like Toyota very much. It was okay and had some good stuff but there were a lot of dead spots in this for me. The finishing run was solid but this wasn't much to me.- 7 replies

[1994-10-22-AJPW-October Giant Series] Steve Williams vs Toshiaki Kawada
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in October 1994
My God, this was long. That severely hurt this match. And to be honest the work didn't grab me either. I was bored in large parts. The finish was great but this should have been far better than it turned out being. Disappointing match.- 11 replies

Try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf66Zlt3P7s and here's the first half of the stern interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVrluiMq_bs Oh my God. This is so absurd.

Rock's bug-eyed reaction of shock and outrage when Shane claimed that the Hurricane could kick the Scorpion King's ass remains a favorite moment of mine. Yes, that whole segment ruled. I laughed pretty extensively during it.
-
That was 04. And I liked that period too. I recall one tag going till almost 11:30 one night. All of those matches were fun as hell and had tremendous heat.
-
That is tremendous. Is it online anywhere?

It's possible he did commentary on WCW Saturday Night during his brief run there. It may have been for just a match but I don't know.

So I've now completed February 2003 Raw. It's been....well....here's my review: February The King of Kings is still champ and hes still feuding with the Big Booty Daddy. Hes the only diamond in the rough he says. Hes evolution. Steiner shows off his muscles and tremendous technical prowess at No Way Out. But The Game withstands Big Poppa Pump. That's because of evolution you see. The Cerebral Assassin continues to play mind games with his luxurious suits, cool sun glasses, and evolving associates. Speaking of Evolution, the group has officially been named and what not. Its a mystery. An animal, a viper, a nature boy and The Game make up the group. They're cool too. They walk around and sit in sky boxes, bully other wrestlers like Tommy Dreamer and Goldust. They're the greatest faction since the Horsemen. They're Evolution and its a mysterious change no one sees. The Rock is back. THANK GOD. Hes already tremendous. Hes so much better than everyone else on the program its embarrassing. His return promo was awesome and he shits all over Canada and its fans. His interactions with Shane Helms are hilarious. In the number one contender battle royal he left the match and was on commentary and ruled. Hollywood Rock is fucking GREAT. Booker T is the number one contender sucka and is getting a massive push and has gotten a pinfall victory over Trips in a tag and eliminated the returning Rock to face HHH at Mania. I like this push so far but it shits the bed soon so there's that. STONE COLD! STONE COLD! STONE COLD! STONE COLD! Jim Ross having a heart attack over Austin kicking Bischoff's ass was hilarious and absurd. Bischoff is all mean and stuff. By the way, hes terrible at this role. His acting is abysmal. They did the whole thing where Bischoff searched for Austin and Austin was eluding him or something. Then Bischoff blamed JR and fired him until he could get Austin to come to No Way Out. Vince fired Eric but JR got Stone Cold to make the deal and Vince re-hired Eric. Bischoff then gave JR a concussion and poured beer on him and stuff. Now Austins back and beat up Eric and JR's happy. Those damn Dudleys are getting screwed and its a "bureaucratic travesty." They've been suspended and stuff. Chief Morley has helped Storm and Regal like every week. That's great television. Kane and RVD are having some sort of pseudo-gay relationship or something. They have these little backstage arguments about being independent but still wanting to be together. Rob is unhappy with Kane hiding his personality too I guess. Hes all "dude, come on lets get high and be cool about everything." Also, Kane as an actively functioning human being with social skills while still wearing that mask doesn't fit at all. Teddy Long is no longer "Down with the Brown." Hes with the "Mack Militant" Rodney Mack. I still like these segments though. Mack killed Al Snow in a match by dropping him on his head. I now know why Christopher Nowinski left wrestling. He couldn't take a bump. The dumbass wasn't trained properly. Hes taken numerous bumps on his head already this year. Jazz, Victoria, and Trish are having a three way feud. I like this alright. Jazz keeps saying "The bitch is back" and that's cool I guess. Victoria should never do color commentary ever again though. I'm tired of these ridiculous feuds where the announcers are having two or three month long feuds with wrestlers or rather authority figures. Its horrible. To be fair, Lawler and Morley had a decent match on the last show of the month. Apparently Jericho is in three rivalries. One is with Michaels over what number they chose in the Rumble, Jeff Hardy because Jeff's "conflicted," and Test because Jericho is a woman beater and specifically dislikes women with long legs. Jeff Hardy is a "confused individual" so they say. Until, the Sexy Boy gives him some advice. Now Shawn and Jeff are friends. Of all the pairings those two have decided to be acquaintances. Jeff also wants to help women which I guess is good. He and Jericho did have a couple of solid matches. Bischoff really enjoys hot lesbian action and three minute warning for some reason. I mean I guess I like hot lesbian action but Id rather not view it on my weekly cable program. Three Minute Warning is a solid tag team but its just a terrible gimmick. Goldust was electrocuted after being assaulting by The Games boys. Now he has a "neurological" problem and is stuttering and twitching. They did a sit-down interview with Jim Ross where he was trying to sell it and was stuttering and shit. Not to mention he was wearing his ring attire, face paint, and wig during the interview. What the fuck? How is anyone supposed to take that seriously? Horrible. The Rock has been awesome and the occasional segment will deliver but this is just embarrassingly bad at times.

Eddie was tremendous in this. I mean he was fucking phenomenal. He was the highlight of this match. I forget how goddamn good his offense was. And his heeling is awesome. Everyone does their part in this though. I loved the camera angle where Sasuke goes for his patented springboard moonsault and Benoit just side steps and Sasuke vanishes. The finish was gloriously botched but it was covered up well by the end. This was a fantastic showcase match and one of the better New Japan matches all year.

[1994-10-15-WWF-Superstars] Bob Backlund and Arnold Skaaland
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in October 1994
This was a really great segment. Backlund and Vince are awesome here. Backlund scolds Skaaland for throwing in the towel and locks him in the Crossface Chicken Wing. It's pandemonium again but with Bob Holly complaining to Backlund as an added bonus. Great stuff. -
[1994-10-14-CMLL] Emilio Charles Jr vs Miguel Perez Jr (Hair vs Hair)

Oh, I laughed while watching the Rumble match. Especially at the tombstone spot and Steiner's awful excuse for a butterfly suplex. Also, Steiner doesn't even hit Trips with the metal side of the belt. He just hits him with the leather strap part and The Game still blades. Amusingly terrible.

As I'm closing in on the 94 Yearbook and very excited to soon be getting the AWA set I've decided to embark on a difficult and challenging side project: 2003 WWE Raw. I'm insane and will watch almost anything. This is a testament to that. I've completed January and here are my thoughts so far: January • The Game is the heavyweight champ. His promos don’t last very long but their terrible regardless. Scott Steiner is his burial assignment of the month. This feud has been horrendous. They’ve had arm wrestling contests, posedowns, and weight lifting competitions. Apparently that’s mind games from the Cerebral Assassin. Their match at the Rumble was atrocious with dogshit booking. • Evolution just started and it’s a mystery. Flair just wanders around in the background and makes weird facial expressions. Batista is kind of entertaining to watch in a strange way. Randy is too green at this point to make anything of him. Their ends of the show beatdowns are preposterous and too long. • The tag team division is marred in controversy. Chief Morley is running around and feuding with the Dudley’s. Storm and Regal continuously get squashed and destroyed only to have a former porn star, a gay hair stylist, and two savage samoan thugs assault the Dudley’s to help them win. JR and King are also involved with some absurd little rivalry with Storm and Regal which is what started this whole nonsense. The Dudley’s had helped them beat Storm and Regal in a match. • Bischoff is on notice after Vinnie Mac showed up and got all pissed off and gave him a month to “shake the very foundation of Raw” or else he’d be fired. Then Bischoff dropped the “bombshell” as he called it by inviting Steve Austin to return to Raw and show up at No Way Out. • The divas division is good actually. Trish and Victoria had an extremely fun and to be honest good street fight on the last Raw of the month. Jazz has returned which is even better and killed Trish. • The Jericho-Michaels stuff is pretty good. Jericho’s outfits are tremendous and hilarious. Michaels is not all that annoying here to be fair. I liked how Jericho sneak attacked Michaels at the Rumble. It furthered the feud well. Jericho also accidentally hit Stacy Kiebler with a chair in a match against Test. He didn’t apologize and was an assclown about it. Christian is his lackey and is pretty funny. I find goofy heel pre-TNA Christian to be fairly enjoyable. • Booker T and Goldust are a fun tag team. They’ve had a couple of fun matches so far. I thought they had tremendous chemistry. • D-Lo Brown starts up the black militancy shit or whatever. Teddy Long shows up as his advocate and sponsor and is awesome. D-Lo also had a pretty good match with Shane Helms as well. • I’ve found Tommy Dreamer to be somewhat enjoyable. He comes out and plays his role well. Fun stuff. • Jeff Hardy is all “conflicted” for some reason. He must have lost contact with a dealer or something. He’s not getting enough oxycodone and Mollie. He did have a random competitive match with Raven of all people on a show. That was totally bizarre. • It is extremely odd to see such a lackluster program have competitive matches every week. And not just one competitive match, three or four. The last show of the month in Chicago was really fun and very good surprisingly. But the previous three shows and the Raw matches at the Rumble were pathetic.

Would Shawn Michaels Make Your Personal Top 100?
Exposer replied to Dylan Waco's topic in The Microscope
I recall it being the 5/17 match where Marty wins the title. Although, I think I have seen the 7/19 match as the winner elsewhere. -
[1994-10-14-UWFi-The King's Road: Osaka] Nobuhiko Takada vs Naoki Sano
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in October 1994
This was a great match. I'm not really a fan of Takada at all. However, he was good in this match. I actually thought Vader carried their August match for the most part. Takada was better here. I loved Sano in this as well though. His escapes were awesome.- 6 replies

This was very good to great. The first fall dragged for me and I'm not particularly high on any of these gals. I thought the second fall was tremendous with Kyoko's selling. The third fall was pretty good too but there were too many missed moves. Overall, this was good but there were decent portions of the match where I lost interest. I still thought this was great but it's just not as good as anything with Bull, Aja, or Hokuto.

The Gangstas are in da hood! This segment is tremendously hilarious. Although, they definitely come across as heroes here. New Jack is fucking great as always. Loss has a point too. How many times has a white wrestler gotten away with cheating? Bob Armstrong is good in his promo and Ricky Morton is even better asking for a rematch for the tag belts. We get Bryant Anderson running his mouth along with Ole. That was okay. Then New Jack cuts a good promo in the studio calling out Robert Gibson. Gibson shows up and there's a big pull apart brawl to close the show. Great stuff all around.
