I may never read that book. From what I've seen so far in the WWF 80's re-watch Valentine is somebody who comes out looking even better than originally thought. And that Tito feud is so fucking great. One of my ten favorite feuds ever.

God, Jericho has a conversation every match.
-
1. Negro Casas - I've seen a handful Casas in late 80's/early 90's lucha and a handful of his recent work from the last two or three years. I think he has an incredible ability to have good matches with almost anybody. He's been touted as a GOAT candidate and I want to discover more of him so I can see if that's the case. 2. Buddy Rose - I've got his comp from Will and his run as a top worker is one of the best ever. He ruled the Pacific Northwest and had one of the better short-lived tag teams. I hope that one day footage will suddenly appear and I can enjoy more of "The Playboy." 3. Mark Henry - Was he always this good? I kind of doubt it but I wonder if their are any hidden gems of him in late 90's WWF or that short-lived RAW run with Teddy Long in 03-04. 2006 was his breakout year in terms of in ring work yet I still need to find some of that as well. I'm a firm believer that he was arguably the best worker in the company during his ECW Title run in 08 and of course in 2011 with the "Hall of Pain" Title run on Smackdown. 4. Brad Armstrong - I've been looking up Brad Armstrong matches for years. I've yet to find a bad one. His untimely death has made me even more interested in his work. I would love to have a place where all of his WCW T.V. matches were available to watch and enjoy. 5. Jerry Lawler - I need to be educated more in Memphis and "The King." I once went on YouTube and listed every Lawler match on their from the 70's through the 90's. Maybe I should go back and find that list. This will of course change frequently.

Would John Cena make your personal top 100?
Exposer replied to NintendoLogic's topic in The Microscope
At this stage in my wrestling intake, probably, but I can't say he'd be a guarantee after I get a good feel of other guys out there. -
Iceberg. Southern indy guy, 600 pounds, shockingly mobile. Yeah, I've known about Iceberg for years. He was a regular at the southern indy I used to go to when I was a little kid in East Ridge, TN. And yes, he was definitely shockingly mobile. I haven't seem him work in years though.

The War to Settle to Score is sort of a spectacle in a way but not a great match at all to be honest. Any of the Piper-Hogan I've seen so far for the WWF set has left a lot to be desired. They have a couple of handhelds from 84 that are okay but nothing more.
-
I will say that was a tremendous ending. Punk as heel champion sounds great on paper.
-
Man, this has been an absolutely TERRIBLE show. Slick was EASILY the best part so far.
-
WHAT IS IT!? This never got answered. It will when the set comes out

After watching the Rockers match, Darsow really downgraded the level of the match. It's still very good, but he did things I hate in that match. The worst of which was his TERRIBLE Boston Crab. I HATE when a submission hold doesn't look at least marginally painful.
-
I just want to point out that I find it amusing that Kane has become the main eventer on stand-by in the last ten years or so. He's WWE's guy to plug into a major feud or title match when they have no other options (or when they think they have no other options).
-
To be fair, I wasn't terribly annoyed by those AJ parts of the match but I was very satisfied with the end result as it still was a great match.
-
Solid show. Punk-Bryan was pretty great for the most part but with a few AJ bullshit spots mixed in. The main event WWE Title MITB match was laid out really well and everybody looked strong particularly Show and Jericho. The SD MITB had a few terrifying botches and a couple of other insane bumps. Ziggler and Cena won those matches. The Colon's and Prime Time Players match was quite good but lacked heat because the crowd didn't know to cheer for The Colons. Ryback had a fun competitive squash with Hawkins and Reks. There was a clusterfuck 6 divas tag thrown in there too. Sheamus-Del Rio was pretty good as well and I liked the Ziggler cashing in tease. I was satisfied with this show for the most part. Punk and the WWE Title never going on last is frustrating as hell though.

[1994-11-30-AAA] Rey Misterio Jr vs Juventud Guerrera
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
This was a tremendous match. The first fall has some awesome mat work, lucha arm drags, and rudo bumping by Juvi. Rey gets the advantage in the end and wins with the hurracanrana/pin combo. Juvi takes control in the second fall and gets the win to tie it up in the end with some a sick looking back suplex off the ropes followed by an equally sick looking german for the pin. The third fall is really tremendous for the most part with some incredible dives and awesome near falls. The finish is disappointing but goes over huge with the crowd and it set up a re-match so there's not too much to complain about there.- 6 replies

This was a good match but it bored me at times. These are the matches that make me dislike Takada. He's so robotic at times and it just doesn't interest me. There was some good stuff but I wasn't invested very much at all.

[1994-11-30-UWFi] Masahito Kakihara vs Kazuo Yamazaki
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
This was a great match. Kakihara is aggressive as hell and brings a lot of eagerness here. Yamazaki is much more calmer and patient in his movements. I really liked Kakihara escaping submission in the leg lock and reversing it into his own. The finish is really well done with Yamazaki nearly losing but keeping himself focused and pulls out the win in the end by arm bar submission.- 7 replies

[1994-11-29-WAR] Genichiro Tenryu vs Tatsumi Kitahara
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
This is was a very good match with a lot stiffness. Tenryu does do an excellent job of making Kitahara look great here. All the strikes connected in some way and were violent as hell. -
This wasn't much at all. It was your average brawl with some good prop spots but nothing more. I suppose if this was pro-shot it might have come across better. And yeah, Ricky Morton is a hell of a brawler.

[1994-11-26-WCW-Saturday Night] Steve Austin vs Jim Duggan
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Duggan and Austin are going at it for the US title when Vader comes out and attacks Duggan. Duggan gets his 2X4 and fends off Vader and Austin. Sting comes out to jaw with the heels along with Duggan. This was okay.- 6 replies

[1994-11-26-SMW-TV] The Gangstas vs Brian Lee & Lance Storm
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
This was actually a solid TV tag match. Candido interfered and nailed Brian Lee in the head with a trash can and the New Jack got the cover to retain the tag belts. Cactus came out and brawled with Candido then cut a good promo afterwards.- 7 replies

Yeah, I was about to say.... Well I'm younger than YOU! Yeah, I'm 19 years old. I would say I'm a younger fan. As far as GM's go, I wish they would all vanish for eternity. I'm as sick of them as you old folks are. The GM role/authority figure role got tiring after my 8 year old self watched Vince make Trish bark like a dog and get on her knees. Even at my age, I thought that was terrible television. Eric Bischoff was a nice surprise for one week when he made his debut then started bringing out lipstick lesbians to fondle and make out with one another. Not long afterward he had two Samaons dressed up in street gear to attack ring announcers and female authority figures. I hate the GM/authority figure "They make every decision possible and are on every week" role.

Jim Cornette wants to manage the Gangstas but New Jack doesn't want any of it. This was great stuff. Then, Tammy accuses Cactus of animal cruelty and thrashes poor Boots around. Finally, Cactus cuts an awesome promo on Boo Bradley and Candido. Great, great stuff.
