Let's hope the goods keep coming but I hear the next two months are upsetting.
  2. This match was solid. I was bothered by the fact that it lacked good structure and seemed all over the place too much. Sting fyling over the ropes and to the floor was insane but that spot was topped by Sting press slamming Sherri to the floor without anything or anyone breaking her fall. Flair failed to catch her at all. The finished was missed because of that spot. Sting challenges the winner of Flair-Hogan II in the post-match interview.
  3. In my opinion, the greatest promo of all time.
  4. Bock announces Flair-Hogan II for Clash of the Champions on August 24. He also fines Sherri $25,000 for her blatant interference at Bash at the Beach. This was an effective announcement that made more sense than anything today.
  5. This didn't happen. It couldn't have.
  6. This was really good. Backlund gets in some quick near falls to let Bret know that this is the real deal. The rest of the match is great with Bret trying to ground Backlund but the veteran continues to counter into his own hold or pin attempt. They really show the fatigue as the match progresses which I liked. The finish and post-match are done extremely well and I too loved Backlund staring at his hands in disbelief after locking in the Cross Face Chickenwing on Bret. Great match and great angle.
  7. This was a fun match. Jado is much more aggressive than Taka in this utilizing chairs and tables. Taka does some sweet dives and gets incredible air too. The finishing run is pretty good with a nasty bump by Taka from the top rope Frankensteiner in the end.
  8. This was excellent. Doc has really been on another level this year. Misawa does a remarkable job of making the crowd believe that Doc was the better man in this match. The finishing stretch was one of the best so far this year and the BDD is once again put over magnificently.
  9. I thought this was fun but far from the regular Flair-Steamboat match. Sherri was way too involved but she did bump like crazy for Steamboat. Austin comes down at the end to join in on a beatdown on Steamboat.
  10. This was okay. I just never got as interested as I needed to be to really like this match. There were some good average ladders spots and Sabu's crash threw the table was particularly nasty. They brought in a ton of chairs from the crowd that were barely used. I think this could have been better but it ended up being the average ladder match.
  11. Flair cuts a great promo telling Hogan he has to be him again. Good stuff.
  12. Austin cuts a good promo trashing Steamboat then Steamboat has enough and says he used to respect Austin but is now tired of his attitude. Austin apparently curses Steamboat then gets slapped for it. The crowd is a riot during all of this. This was an entertaining segment that made Austin seem big.
  13. Terry Gordy cuts a decent promo to highlights of him beating Jun Akiyama in All-Japan. DWB cuts another really good promo hyping up three big matches he has in the future including the one with Gordy. Good stuff.
  14. Holy shit! New Jack's promo ruled! The squash was solid too with Hamrick taking a ludicrous bump off of a clothesline. This was tremendous.
  15. Tommy Rich tosses Doug a chain which he uses to beat JC Ice. The ref finds the chain and reverses the decision. Doug complains about it afterwards. Okay stuff.
  16. Dibiase claims he's bought Luger. Luger hesitantly comes out and Tatanka interrupt the little gathering. Tatanka is ashamed of Luger and calls him a sellout. Luger says no deal and says he isn't a sellout. Tatanka isn't sure what to believe. This was definitely a unique angle. I didn't mind this but it's not something I care about.
  17. I don't understand.
  18. This was a fun tv match. They went at a fast pace and worked stiff. I liked the post-match stuff too.
  19. My first thought after watching this match was that Johnny Ace was really good in it. He held his own for sure. Doc has had a great year so far and continues to improve his resume with another great performance. Misawa is his usual self selling and taking a beating while Kobashi makes the saves and throws some bombs. This was an excellent bomb throwing style tag with an exceptional performance from Johnny Ace.
  20. This ruled. What a fucking great promo.
  21. Yes, this was a great match. There were some tremendous details on the side as well. Heenan "confusing" Bockwinkel with Lloyd Bridges was funny as hell because all I envision is Nick Bockwinkel playing the part of Izzy Mandelbaum in Seinfeld. Michael Buffer comparing this match to the moon landing was bizarre and amusing. Hogan pulling out a fucking cross armbreaker was totally unreal. The crowd was loud as hell and really into the match. Flair wrestled a Hogan match and played the part of the opposing heel perfectly. His bumping was grand and his cheating ways were at an all-time high. Hogan was good in this match. He sold his leg very well for the most part and his offense looked solid. Yeah, this is a surprisingly great match (maybe not surprising, I don't know) and was an extremely fun watch.
  22. The first half of this was not very good. It had no direction and there were a couple of severe botched spots. The second half was much better and delivered quite well. Austin did a cool variation of a camel clutch and the near falls were good. Overall, this was a pretty good match and maybe even very good but the first half was disappointing.
  23. This is a decent match highlighted by Funk and Bucks selling and Dustin taking the craziest of his missed crossbody bumps. The real story here is Arn's heel turn and the continuation of the best feud in WCW of 1994. The turn was executed perfectly and gave a real twist in the feud. Great stuff.
  24. This was good but only that. This was way too much your-turn-my-turn for me. The opening exchanges had two or three standoffs which is too many. On the other hand, the dives were great and some of the near falls were well timed. I've enjoyed Sasuke this year but I was kind of disappointed in this match.
  25. I found this to be really entertaining. It wasn't a great match by any stretch but the barbed wire spots, chair throwing, and Terry Funk kept me invested. Lots of fun.
