5 *??????? All I saw was a typical AJPW 6-man but with the addition of Kobashi getting the win. It was good but that rating is absurd.

[1994-01-27-WCW-Clash of the Champions XXVI] Bobby Heenan debuts
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in January 1994
Heenan is the most hated man in WCW on this night. Gene is hysterical with his reaction. Those two had great chemistry. Awesome segment.- 12 replies

[1994-01-29-WWF-Superstars] Jack Tunney announcement
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in January 1994
This was a quick but sensible decision for the Rumble finish. Great stuff here. -
This was a tremendous segment. Terry acting all creepy and disturbed is always awesome. Dory's outfit was just incredible. I laughed out loud when Cornette was berating the crowd and calling them "Genetically defected" and the camera pans to a downs syndrome teenager leading a chant. God SMW rules.

[1994-01-29-WCW-Saturday Night] Press Conference: Nick Bockwinkel
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in January 1994
Vader just bursting into a dignified press conference and picking a fight with everyone was awesome. Gene was his usual self barking orders and acting all disgusted and what not. Steamboat was fired up. This was a great segment.- 8 replies

[1994-01-31-WWF-Raw] 1-2-3 Kid, Marty Jannetty, Razor Ramon & IRS
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in January 1994
To Loss's point: Is Marty Jannetty a libertarian? I don't think it would shock me actually. Anyways, I liked this segment and it was fairly entertaining. -
The segment did what it needed to do. I wish stuff like that was done more often today. That wish would only come true if I was in charge though.
-
Rude just didn't perform at a high level by this point. He's so slow. The Vader-Flair stuff was okay. Not my favorite segment so far.

This was vile. I thought it was extremely dramatic and difficult to watch at times. Overall, I thought it was a great, great match. Hotta seemed to be in incredible pain.

[1994-01-22-WWF-Royal Rumble] Bret & Owen Hart vs The Quebecers
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in January 1994
What the hell is wrong with Ray Rougeau? A part of me wishes he would have successfully gotten to interview Bret while he was getting carried out. It would have made things even more ridiculous. I laughed so at least that was funny. The match is pretty good but not great. Bret does a superb job selling the leg but they could have gotten Bret in the ring a little quicker. I was beginning to lose interest. The stoppage was bizarre and a lame way to end it. Why not have Bret take the fall? The post-match wouldn't have to be any different. Speaking of the post-match, I liked it. Owen's interview was classic. I think this is a pretty great angle so far. -
[1994-01-22-WWF-Royal Rumble] Undertaker vs Yokozuna (Casket)
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in January 1994
The video package was fucking great. The match was solid until Crush came out. God, I hate Crush. Then everyone else came out and took out Taker. The biggest problem with this is that it took forever. I mean it took way too long. It's sad that Tenryu was subjugated to this also. The ending with the supernatural shit is oddly entertaining but not that it was good. Outrageous bullshit I almost always find entertaining.- 31 replies

I've seen only a handful of Rumble matches from the 90s and this is one of them. It was pretty forgettable. The only things worth of note were Tenryu and the finish. There is a much larger Bret reaction. That was pretty obvious and not surprising.

This kicked ass. The early minutes with Kyoko twisting a much larger Bull with various holds was neat. It really got awesome when the war lines were drawn and the two starting annihilating one another. The suplex off the table and onto the floor was a crazy spot. The finishing run ruled as well. Terrific match.

This is a good match with a tremendous second fall. The third fall dragged for me as well. Overall, very good match but it could have been much better. It was really getting great for me and the crowd didn't budge on that near fall in the third. Too bad I guess.

[1994-01-22-WWF-Superstars] The Undertaker and Paul Bearer vignette
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in January 1994
Bearer was good in this but Taker I thought was actually really good in it. His darkened figure looming was a cool visual. -
Another tremendous SMW segment with a tremendous angle and a tremendous heel promo.

[1994-01-22-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Bret & Owen Hart
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in January 1994
Owen cuts a really good promo here talking about the Rumble tag title match being his "big break." This was a great angle. -
[1994-01-22-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Ric Flair

Another typical great Flair promo. I always think Flair should have hung up the boots around 93-94 also. I can't watch him nowadays.- 7 replies

This was a fun tv six man. I had no clue Ron Simmons was heel in WCW outside of Doom. It was unique to see Bossman take the FIP segment. Just a fun multi-man in the end.

Good God Crush is the worst person to listen to on commentary. That doesn't discount the coolness of this segment. Yoko was great here showing fear and busting his ass as he ran away from the emerging Taker out of the giant casket. Fun, fun segment.

[1994-01-15-WCW-Saturday Night] Steve Austin vs Brian Pillman
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in January 1994
This was a nice little tv match with good psychology. Pillman worked on Austin's knee and Austin worked on Pillman's arm. Pillman sold the arm great and had a decent comeback as well. This, like all of their other encounters, could have been better but it was satisfying.- 9 replies

[1994-01-15-WWF-Superstars] Update: Owen's not happy!

I thought this was a cool string of promos leading up to the two tag matches that came afterwards and the Owen heel turn. -
[1994-01-14-WAR] Genichiro Tenryu vs Shiro Koshinaka
Exposer replied to Loss's topic in January 1994
I love Tenryu. He splits Koshinaka at the bell and kicks ass for the rest of the match too. The near falls are excellent and the brawling is pretty good here. It was a good start to disc two.
