I have very few dislikes for matches 1-19 which shows how impressive this month was. I'm pumped for April.
  2. Wow, Doc is pretty great in this. Kawada has his knee targeted again here. I loved the finishing run and this is a great match to lead to the Carnival Final the next month.
  3. Hokuto's performance is one of the best in wrestling history. Aja is a lethal weapon in this so many times. That first kick to Kandori's head, those yuricans to Hokuto, and that goddamn suplex on the table. A lot of that came with the dissension between Hokuto and Kandori. It gave Aja and Bull the opportunities to annihilate the two. Bull took some crazy bumps in this including a lunatic tope where Kandori moved and Bull just vanished from sight. The finish was awesome and one of the best ever. This is one for the ages.
  4. This was a pretty good match. There was too much of the negative Joshi in it for me though. The beginning minutes were a struggle and the back and forth move for move style is not my thing. There didn't seem to be a proper control segment at all in this either. It was just go-go-go. It was still pretty good but these kinds of matches don't interest me.
  5. Johnny Ace just doesn't do it for me here. He works hard but that's about it. Overall, this is a solid outing. The finishing run is great but that's to be expected in this promotion.
  6. Flair gets a pretty solid promo and Gene is less annoying here. Poor Steamboat can't have his big title match hyped up at all.
  7. I love these interviews. I don't care if SMW fan regulars don't get the references. I do, and that's enough for me to enjoy each and everyone of them.
  8. Holy shit, this was great stuff! Everyone was awesome especially Vince and Ricky. SMW did a wonderful job hyping the Bluegrass Brawl.
  9. This was a cool interview. I loved Lawler praising the Mississippi fans and joking that he's never done color commentary. Fun stuff.
  10. The IRS gimmick is just beyond amusing to me. That last reason was the best.
  11. The DDT on the floor set up the neck targeting. That was really good. The chokeslam near falls were great in this. Kobashi's comeback was excellent and I loved his vicious chops in the corner. There were a couple of things I disliked. The random half crab and side headlock take down were mind boggling and served no purpose in the match. Plus, I hated that they did two double clothesline spots. I can't complain too much though because everything else was your typical great AJ 90s singles match.
  12. Bret cuts a very solid promo here. Vince is hoarse from screaming at Mania. Pretty good segment.
  13. The post-match celebration was great. Owen's appearance was a nice precursor to things to come.
  14. I still enjoy this match and both guys put up a great effort. It's just been shoved down my throat so many times. Plus, I prefer Summerslam 95 over it anyways. Definitely still a great match.
  15. Man oh man, Corny is on a role here. This has got to be his best WWF promo.
  16. That was a ridiculous finish. There are a hundred ways that could have been done better. Crap.
  17. I'm still pretty sure this is the best opening match to a PPV i can ever recall. It's just an excellent wrestling match. The story told here is very clear. Bret's selling is top notch and Owen puts on a performance of a lifetime that is evident right off the bat with his hilarious mockery of a collar and elbow tie up. Hell, Owen almost can't believe he beat Bret afterwards as he has to check with Hebner to make sure it's a reality. Personally, I might take Bret-Austin from SS but this is easily a top three Bret match ever.
  18. I'll say it again. If Gene would stop interrupting, these interviews wouldn't have to be cut short. Flair already yells at a fan and he and Ricky argue about their past and reference the '89 series. This was pretty good.
  19. If Gene would stop interrupting, these interviews wouldn't have to be cut short. Flair begins his heel turn and essentially calls Hogan out.
  20. I tried to make sense of this through context clues but still had to read the explanation on this thread. It seemed like an entertaining segment.
  21. This is a heck of a ladder match sprint. I've said before that these two guys chemistry is untouchable in SMW lore. I liked this a good bit. The finish was very good too. I can't wait to see the one they have in April.
  22. This was a fun segment here. The crowd was really into it and Dutch was amusing.
  23. I thought this was fine. It wasn't anything special. The Bodies using an inhaler was okay too. To me it was general heel exaggerations.
  24. I actually found this to be great. I mean yeah, who gives a shit about the van but I was still entertained by the fact that they "gave a shit."
  25. WWF did some very good recaps back in the day. This is one of them.
