I wish all wrestlers the best health, but they're neither friend nor family to me. Why is their health something I'm thinking much about at all beyond how it impacts the shows I'm watching?

I hope Owens's & Hero's health aren't negatively impacted by their weight or body, but that's not really our concern, although it should be a priority for them. But they have chosen to work in a business very much driven by how we view their performance. They're not athletes where all that matters are results. How they do what they do and how they look while doing it is literally their job. Its not unreasonable to think that their appearance, and how it may impact their performance, if it does, can contribute to the quality of their matches. For example, its possible that if Owens were in better shape and more mobile he'd be able to take more and better bumps. His offense might look a bit more explosive if he were quicker. If he had better cardio. Or it might not. But let's not pretend that it can't impact what we see in the ring. Just because you convince yourself that its irrelevant doesn't mean there aren't very legitimate reasons why the physical condition a wrestler keeps himself in can't positively or negatively impact what they do in the ring.

If you don't say this about the men, don't say it about the women. Vince cares about looks, we get it. Also, Vince doesn't really put people in masks either, so that's a bullshit statement. The issue here is, Lovelace was hired and she is a great talent. Why add the other baggage? If they really thought she was too ugly (which she is not some hideous beast) they wouldn't had hired her. Wrestling fans talking about looks, weight, etc... of wrestlers (both men and women) is something we need to get away from as it's pretty damn destructive. That's not remotely true and arguably ignorant. James Ellsworth's look doesn't matter? Vader's doesn't? Umaga's look didn't matter? Like it or not it is absolutely a part of how characters are presented and, to varying degrees, how effective a performer they are. If Braun Strowman looked like TJ Perkins, his segments and booking might come off quite differently to live and television audiences. Some may argue better while others might argue worse. But it'd take quite the specialty cocktail to convince me that I'd be seeing the same thing in Bayley vs. Nia Jax if Jax looked like Alexa Bliss or if Bayley looked like ODB.
  4. Totally forgot about Balor, and while I put zero credence in the Rumble four way scenario you bring up because it makes much too much sense, I love it. Totally agree on the Raw women's threeway as well Nikki vs. heel Becky on Smackdown's side. Only wrinkle there is if Charlotte is in fact paired off with Rousey or something else marquee, then I could easily see Sasha/Bayley getting a big push as the follow up to their NXT matches. It definitely feels as though AJ or Roman will be out in the cold and I hope there's a way around that.
  5. Certainly feels like Taker is marked for Smackdown. Assuming Taker gets Cena or AJ, that leaves the other (and Ambrose) without anything big. Unless you pair those 2 together, perhaps an ~INTERPROMOTIONAL DREAM MATCH~ with Reigns or someone from Raw.
  6. I'm curious where they go with the title. If Reigns doesn't win it at Roadblock, it would seem to signal they're holding off on Owens/Jericho for Mania, but that feels awfully weak for a title match and would also seem to leave Reigns in the cold with Brock/Goldberg and Triple H/Rollins locked in. Not sure who you pair him with on the Raw side but at the same time can't imagine him without a prominent match.
  7. Really fun show and thought it was great that you fit fitting the show's focus rather than completely switch gears. Shouldn't it be Jerryvankramer though??
  8. Perhaps Twitter isn't the best place to discuss topics that require actual discussions. Hopefully most of us have thoughts on such topics that go beyond 140 characters and can recognize that others who think about these things for more than a minute would likewise be constrained under such limits. Seems silly to dig in our heels in either corner on that little discussion.
  9. Hmmm... this shit is awesome, what are you talking about? It ran its course a while ago. Styles seemed to make some silly comedy out of it last night, but beyond that there's nothing you can do with Ellsworth at this point. Well past the sell by date.
  10. Funny enough, received an email survey from them today. First time since launch.
  11. Charlotte's growth into the best heel the business has seen in years is really remarkable, arguably more so because of who her father is. But she's nonetheless become the best promo and character on Raw. Its really time for the Sasha feud to go on the backburner for a bit, as even if its probably my feud of the year certainly the most important feud of the year, they need to diversify that division ASAP. Very much looking forward to the iron man match at the PPV as I'm sure that'll deliver but sustaining the momentum these two have built in recent months requires adding a couple other gals to the mix. I'm normally in the camp that he must retire, but last night was the most I've enjoyed Big Show since the Reigns match on PPV after Mania last year. They kept it short and simple and he was quite effective. 3 hours is still so long. Looking forward to Smackdown and the AJ Styles show tonight. Perhaps starting to build for Taker at Rumble if that's the direction? As long as he's healthy and this ankle injury from TLC isn't a big deal I'll definitely be grabbing a ticket to the christmas MSG show in the next day or 2.
  12. I hear about these surveys from time to time but have never received one. Wonder how large a sample they use. Are you on their mailing list. I haven't gotten anything about the Network for a year now since I unsubscribed from their mailing list. Yeah, regularly get emails from them at 2 addresses.

I love James Ellsworth. LOVE HIM!

AJ is so freaking great. Such a willing, creative and natural bumper. Incredible timing on everything he does. What a professional.

Who's this ring announcer? Just noticed him now.

Yeah that match was not very good. They seemed to have a few ideas for table spots and not much for what to do around them, plus there were some timing and positioning issues. I dig Alexa and have been impressed with her since coming up but tonight was not her best showing.

It is incredible how superior the entrance music is for women on the roster. Top to bottom their themes are almost all better than anything on the men's side.

Glad some folks liked it. Thought the first half was pretty boring and while the back half was a ton better, the finish felt pretty flat.

    WWE TLC 2016

Can't say I really loved that finish. Not sure either Miz or Dolph come out of this match looking a whole lot better than they did before it started.

    WWE TLC 2016

My issue with it is is feels like they're having a ladder spotfest at the expense of a wrestling match. It picked up a bit with the leg work but until then it was basically playing with props.

    WWE TLC 2016

Thus far this is a bit underwhelming. They're going out of their way to make this about the ladder gimmick at every step rather than have a wrestling match that simply incorporates the ladder for a few spots and climbs/teases. Hope it picks up but to this point its been their worst outing during this feud.

    WWE TLC 2016

I remain very excited for this show, potentially unreasonably so. Styles hasn't disappointed on a big show this year and is the only worker who's carried Ambrose to a good match in quite some time. Throw in the gimmicks, which you have to expect AJ will look to take advantage of in a unique way after seeing what he did against Reigns earlier in the year, and that should deliver. The women's and IC title matches also offer a ton of potential and there are at least promising directions they can go with everything else on the card. Add in that it won't be a 4 hour marathon and this guy is pumped for his time on the couch tonight.

Even though I wasn't really anticipating it, I think that TLC will be a lot better than Survivor Series, for pretty much the reasons you state. The two women's feuds have actually been pretty heated and personal, so having gimmick matches makes some sense, and they will benefit from the relative novelty of women's gimmick matches. AJ always has good main event title defenses, and I think he'll be able to maintain the sort of chaotic environment that makes Ambrose look best. They should just never do another chairs match. The Miz/Ziggler ladder match should be okay, but every recent WWE ladder match has been underwhelming because they're unwilling (and rightly so) to match the escalation of stupid spots that got them over in the first place. Do you really think they'll be able to resist? I completely forgot about Miz/Ziggler, but expect them to put on a pretty great match as well. They've clicked really well in recent months and while the ladder could bring things up or down a notch, they've had a while to prep this feud and match so I can't see that we'll be disappointed. Definitely don't think they can resist the Ellsworth bit, so all I can hope is they let get his pop and then get rid of him so the match can continue.

It did kind of creep up you, but on the other hand Smackdown has been a breeze to watch for quite some time now and I always look forward to their PPVs. An AJ Styles title match will almost always deliver, the two women's matches have solid potential and the tag division could see an interesting refocus with Wyatt & Orton as champs presumably building to a Mania singles match, while working with American Alpha, Usos, Revival or others until then. All I ask is that the main event not build to an Ellsworth climax.
