  1. Last year Reigns beat everyone and was rejected in favor of Bryan heading into Mania. So this time they job him to True Blood to see if that works better?
  2. It lends credence to Dylan's theory that someone just really wants Reigns to fail. Fortunately, he looks to be too good to fail, at this point. Bray's doing his best to bring Reigns and this match down. Even stole Orton's extened chinlock.
  3. For those that are new, this should read "this Wyatt guy looks to be the least compelling thing in modern times."
  4. New Day vs. PTPers - Shocked how long this got. Absolutely solid match that didn't feel like a waste of time. - Woods's ringside commentary is quickly becoming some of my favorite mic work and a great piece of the undercard. - Titus's fire and energy are awesome and have to think his ceiling is somewhere higher than this. - Big E's apron splash was dope. - if the lady matches are decent going forward we're going to need a return of the Adam Rose / R Truth nonsense to the main card to ensure a legitimate bathroom break. For now we'll pencil in Wyatt's entrance for that role.
  5. Orton vs. Sheamus - I don't recall enjoying a Sheamus match that much in ages, if ever. They went long but never lost me, which has happened with all of their recent encounters. Orton was motivated working at home and thus didn't look like he was asleep, while Sheamus took his ass kicking like a man and cut out most of the antics that have led me to hate him in recent years. Heel is a role that serves him very well.
  6. I know they often buy wrestlers in their hometown, but did they recently abandon announcing hometowns? I just noticed it now with Orton but have no clue if its been practice for a while.
  7. This is a great point. Summer will not overshadow Rusev. If the valet wins we all lose.
  8. Apparently the Bucks are very love/hate. I'm definitely in favor.
  9. Ryback gets MVP for keeping Miz off my tv. EDIT: And BIg Show. 2 of my 3 unwatchables.
  10. I think the Cena match at Summerslam may be juts as responsible for his aura now.
  11. That's more like it. Even if just wishful thinking.
  12. That really, really sucks.
  13. I definitely prefer the big, speak loudly to you stuff. But I want it spoken to me, not screamed at me. I also appreciate the little things as the stuff that goes on a sandwich besides the meat -- condiment, cheese, bread, maybe some vegetables. You can have an excellent sandwich without them, but something excellent needs those twists. But I'm a meateater. If you serve me a sandwich with nothing but greens and mayo -- even on some out of this world bread -- I'm either going to throw it at you or throw it up. How's that for stream of consciousness?
  14. Meltzer sure thinks this whole this is about countering ROH, but I'm sure you know better Absolutely about countering them. But countering is not fearing.
  15. The biggest problem for UFC in letting Rousey go to WWE isn't how she's booked, as that likely won't be an issue, but rather handing one of her buyrates to WWE rather than keep it in house. She's likely to transition to movies at some point. She may eat a punch at some point. The shelf life here is limited so to give arguably her biggest number ever to your competition rather than hand you the cash to see her is a pretty big deal.
  16. This is what is really the most interesting part of it. I mean I guess if you're New Japan and WWE asks you, do you want to risk pissing them off? Only if the price is better than what you're getting from the ROH relationship long-term.
  17. What are the bigger picture ramifications of this? Liger isn't taking a booking on his own against NJPW talent a few subway stops away. Any details on all of this yet?
  18. The material doesn't bother me. Perhaps sad at times, but it doesn't trouble me. But the chewing is like nails on a chalkboard.
  19. The eating was actually enough for me to shut it down. I don't need impeccable production or sound quality but I won't listen to chewing.
  20. This reminds me of a game I got back in the day where there were player cards for all the wrestlers and various match types and you'd roll die to go move by move. This was pre-cable when all I knew about the NWA was from the Apter mags so being able to run a texas death or bunkhouse stampede with Dusty & Flair was amazing.
  21. Not exactly this week's TV but what the hell. I'm watching Summerslam 2005 on the Network and right before the main event they cut to the announcers and it looks like seated just behind them and to their right is the fan with the famous shocked face when Taker lost at Mania last year. Pretty cool.
  22. Thanks.
  23. As the working style evolved, Baba seemed to keep trying to add stuff that fit into being a "wrestler" in that era. Dude added a DDT because wrestlers in his promotion did moves. If you count up the moves he did in 1969 with the Destroyer (or other similar late 60s / early 70s stuff on tape), than chart what he added after that, it's pretty amazing how he evolved as the sport got more spotty / higher tech. He was freaking Baba, a major star and didn't have to do it. But he was smart. How difficult is it for wrestlers to add moves to their repertoire? I don't have a sense for how difficult or easy that is.
