  1. Couldn't agree more, he sounded perfectly lucid and just generally thrilled with where his life is at. I don't know where the payday for DDP eventually is, and I don't care. What he's done is remarkable and he deserves all the praise in the world.
  2. Who wants to watch wrestling in a window on a laptop screen? Just viewing stuff on Youtube takes any of the fun away from me. If I ever put aside any time to watch anything, I want to lie back and watch it in proper quality on a proper television. I generally feel the exact same way. I've got a couple long wrestling playlists on Youtube but never really make it there as I'd rather pop in a DVD and watch on the big screen. It really loses something for me and is basically only an option if I'm not home and have time to kill somewhere.
  3. Wow, talk about bold. Superior to Liger/Samurai in '92?
  4. That sounds pretty familiar as I definitely remember him being sidelined with a neck injury for longer than what it initially sounded like. And then he really never did anything in WCW, likely due to his condition.
  5. Matches like this one are why I'm rigidly going back through the yearbooks. I've seen all of these classics but am really looking forward to rewatching them in context after viewing just about everything along the way.
  6. Couldn't agree more, this is the period where I literally remember watching things week to week and remember this more than I do what may have happened in 2008 or '09, for example. I'd be further along in '92 but this whole wife thing really is a drag on nights & weekends. Apparently she gets a vote on how we spend our time every now and then.
  7. Oz is probably one of the handful of stars I'm most looking forward to seeing on later comps as I absolutely can't get enough of her early/mid 90s work. I know where most of the joshi love in that period went, and not without good reason, but she always stood out.
  8. For a parody angle, they got quite a lot out of the BWO and I honestly thought they could've gone further with it. After including Stevie in the triangle match at Barely Legal it kind of fell off the map even though it seemed to have more steam behind it.
  9. Always look forward to seeing you work your way through the yearbooks. Definitely gives me something to look forward to when I eventually catch up. Curious to see your thoughts on a number of matches this year as we're now getting to the point where I've seen much of the high end stuff at some point or another whereas earlier in the decade I was basically limited to US tv.
  10. Wow, thanks for compiling all of that. Looking forward to catching up on some things I've missed there.
  11. Top secret double bonus points on that one. I loathe myself just playing it out.
  12. Weird, I'm getting a 404.
  13. Thanks! EDIT: That link also seems down right now. Quick blip or something off?

  15. Still nothing doing here?
  16. I woke up this morning and along with a dozen or so work emails had this set listing arrive in my inbox. GOOD TIMES! Can't wait to go through the listing in depth today.

I really dug how Brock & Punk worked the physicality there as they managed to present Punk as both an underdog against a monster like Lesnar but at the same time hold his own more than enough that it didn't look like a blowout. And Heyman's promo? He should've just dropped the mic and walked off. Game over.
  18. I'm actually shocked they went with Orton given his 2 strikes under the Wellness Policy. Unless he doesn't win upon cashing in, wouldn't this be the first time they put the belt on someone with two strikes?
  19. No question I agree with the statement about PWO, as its the main reason I can spend hours here at a time and always find something to reread. At the same time, I'm not quick to dismiss the visceral reaction upon a first watch or rewatch. Its those occasions where your visceral reaction is backed up by a thorough analysis after the fact that separates the classics from your impressionable youth from those you watch, love and develop a further appreciation for the second or third time around. At least for this guy
  20. Damn you. Now I really want to pick up the AWA set (a territory truly on the bottom of my list to look back on) and follow along with the set and podcasts. Way to go, Mooney!
  21. Sounds like the first ROH show in years I'll be interested in checking out or at least seeking out multiple opinions before passing on.
  22. What's wrong with a conviction statement? If a match / movie / book requires a technical breakdown to appreciate it, is it really that special if it doesn't connect with you otherwise? And vice versa?
  23. EDIT: Add my name to the list of those completely stoked by this project. I can't imagine ever tiring of your going through the yearbooks and look forward to seeing you work your way through this as well. More! More! More!
  24. Doesn't look like it lasted very long.
