  1. Nailz is coming. This did nothing for me, but I know his debut is great.
  2. This was an awesome heel promo from Jake. Such a shame it was never harnessed for a top program.
  3. Savage is nuts. That statement is most definitely not untrue.
  4. Highlights from the WM press conference, Hogan's bus and Flair stepping of his limo in a robe AND suit. Then McMahon interviewing Flair. Gotta love wardrobe.
  5. Great heeling from Vader in the pre-match and throughout, with his post-match standing out for character work in Japan. Chono & Hash both have pretty short runs as FIPs before Bigelow does some great selling for Hash's offense. Would've benefited from chopping about 8-10 minutes off. ***
  6. Good promo from Jake setting up the WM match against Undertaker.
  7. Pillman knows from experience to stay off the juice. Still a shame to see this almost 16 years after his passing.
  8. Full clips from the post-Superbrawl party. Rude & the DA in tuxes interrupt and throws a drink in Sting's face they brawl. With no Clash between this and Wrestle War I'm surprised they didn't find a way to set up a title defense as a major match in the interim.
  9. Arn tells people to stay off steroids. He could make just about any material compelling and believable.
  10. Bischoff is in the control center, with highlights from Superbrawl II, including Sting's less than stellar post-show promo and Liger vs. Pillman. For some reason we've got DDP setting up the debut of Gordy & Williams. I definitely didn't recall talk about them this early as I don't believe they'd come in until June.
  11. Horner kicks Rogers out just shy of finishing his hour's worth of squats. The babyface/heel dynamic was pretty backwards here, even if Rogers is a natural heel.
  12. Cornette continues to build for his team's debut with a bunch of pop culture references, including the aforementioned deliverance remark. Nothing so fantastic in these SMW clips, but a nice mix of promos and character intros for a 60 minute program.
  13. Armstrong bans Wright from ringside until he is managing someone. He won't stand for Wright's mularkey and then wheels him out. Good stuff.
  14. Horner is sporting a dashing pink sweatshirt and bets $500 Rogers can't do squats for the whole hour.
  15. Dutch & Rogers deliver pretty standard promos as SMW establishes its characters. I know SMW picks up in the months ahead, but Memphis was clearly on another level at this point.
  16. Embry delivers a promo outdoors on Pat Tanaka on the upcoming stips. Memphis was really an afterthought for me when I picked up the yearbooks but thus far I'm loving how different it is from everything else -- yet another example of the variety that makes these sets so great.
  17. Kimala interferes for the faces and we get a few minutes of standard, top shelf 1992 Memphis brawling.
  18. Hogan promoting Children's vitamins. I absolutely wanted these back then. Thanks, mom and dad.
  19. Mickey Jay was clearly not on the juice. He was clearly concerned about taking the bump off the stretcher.
  20. "Elizabeth was mine before she was yours." What a money line. You could see it clicked with him right away that he'd found his hook for this program's promos. Gene's overreactions throughout this were great as well.
  21. Not just people. Remember who's calling the shots.
  22. I'd love to see Moondogs vs. Steiner Brothers, Hansen & Tenryu and MVC.
  23. WWF @ Boston, MA - Boston Garden - March 8, 1986Televised on NESN - featured Gorilla Monsoon & Lord Alfred Hayes on commentary: All American Wrestling - 5/11/86: Sivi Afi pinned Rene Goulet with a flying bodypress at 11:06 All American Wrestling - 4/27/86: Jake Roberts pinned Jose Luis Rivera with the DDT at 10:30 The Crush Girls (Chigusa Nagayo & Lioness Asuka) defeated Judy Martin & Donna Christianello at 15:33 when Asuka pinned Christianello following a giant swing Jim Neidhart (w/ Jimmy Hart) pinned Scott McGhee with a powerslam at 5:59 Prime Time Wrestling - 7/28/86: Ricky Steamboat pinned Bret Hart (w/ Jimmy Hart) at 15:08 when the momentum of a crossbody by Hart put Steamboat on top; during the bout, Jimmy Hart briefly joined the commentary team at ringside (The Hart Foundation, The Bret Hart Story: The Best There Is, Was, and Ever Will Be) WWF IC Champion Randy Savage (w/ Miss Elizabeth) defeated Tito Santana via disqualification at 7:17 after Santana shoved referee Danny Davis to the mat Velvet McIntyre & Dawn Marie defeated Bull Nakano & Dump Masamoto at 8:27 when Velvet pinned Nakano with a victory roll Cpl. Kirchner pinned Iron Mike Sharpe after hitting him with his own forearm at 9:56 Ted Arcidi defeated Barry O via submission with a bearhug at 3:13 Prime Time Wrestling - 10/21/86: WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan & the Junkyard Dog defeated Terry & Dory Funk Jr. (w/ Jimmy Hart) when Hogan pinned Terry with a clothesline at 11:32 as the Funks were hanging JYD over the top with their bullrope Yes, totally bizarre. Wow. Any footage of this show available?
  24. Correct, they closed it with that rather than Sting vs. Cactus or Steamer/Rude. I wonder if they had to guarantee the MVC a couple main events as part of bringing them over.
