    Closing out the Mania sell 24 hours before the big show. Liz looks spectacular here and delivers on the mic as well, at least by her standards. Seemed like she had a tough time keeping a straight face while saying she's scarred for life.

    Dark Patriot has to unmask if he loses. Eddie wins and DP takes off one mask to reveal another. This angle was a huge groan for me even though I knew what was coming. Decent promo from Eddie afterwards.

    Maybe I'm biased from his Titan days, but everything about Horowitz, from the theme music and presentation to his presence screams jobber. After a quick start they slow it down and Davis wins the LHW title in what's presented as a big upset. Liked what I saw from Davis here but just can't get into Barry's act. **1/2

    I loved this. Maybe this doesn't feel quite as special if you're watched 6-8 hours of shoot style, but I'm not there yet so its not a problem. Han is so quick and smooth in everything he does, from throwing spinning backfists to working various leglocks. The crowd here is also much hotter than we've seen in UWFI or PWFG which makes for a more exciting atmosphere. They work simple pro-style moves to look like finishes here, with Maeda scoring a knockdown off of a strike and punch to the abdomen before Han forces another rope break. A snap suplex from Maeda and missed dropkick from Han are probably your highspots here, and their sparing use in this context sees them come across as game changers. Great finish with Maeda grabbing the ankle after a suplex but Han countering into a kneelock of his own and cranking it for the tap. I can't wait to watch more Han. ****

    Completely agree. It was that moment with Bad News where you first saw him as Bret Hart rather than half of the Foundation. Then look at how long after that it took until he joined the singles ranks and was eventually pushed to the IC level. When you consider that we've probably got significantly more hours of tv in a week now than in a month in that era, you realize pretty quickly why he developed the way he did.

    I'm firmly in the camp that doesn't see this as something incredible, primarily due to the finish. Machine has great to start and the crowd is definitely into this with a big match stipulation. Barr turns up the heel antics in the second fall and is DQ'd for using a martinete, which gives Panther the victory. I would've loved this as a finish to Panther winning a fall, but not deciding the match. It felt very flat and anti-climactic. Barr unmasks and does his own version of Funk's '83 Budokan promo post-match. This was definitely on track to becoming something great but the finish really brings it down. ***1/4

    Some nice bumping and fun lucha spots highlight a quick first fall, which is followed by a similarly fast second fall featuring a nice plancha by La Fiera with much of the action on the outside. La Fiera works on Atlantis' arm for much of the third fall with good focus and a great variety of spots. The finishing sequence with a creative torture rack was awesome. Thought they did a really good job of pacing this. ***1/2

    Such great recaps that I feel like I don't even need to watch this stuff now. But of course I will.

    Absolutely. Its probably a great thing for most people. Without it this place would probably devolve into the type of situation what would cause most people to abandon ship.

    Would love to try and show you the light, but you pretty much summed about my thoughts. I don't see the appeal.

    There's definitely something to be said for that, as ridiculous as it seems. I have watched and know infinitely more about pro wrestling than anyone in my life. Then I come to an awesome place like this and feel like a big rookie. Nothing wrong with that, but its often a combo of awesome and intimidating. Love it.

    My mistake, intended to reference a 30 minute match and for some reason included draw as if by reflex.

    The problem there is that you know its a 30 minute draw. I went into the April '92 AJ 8 man on the yearbook last night thinking maybe it goes ~35 minutes, and next thing I know its an hour and twelve minutes. Quite the Ignorance is the best sometimes.

    I could see them letting an angle with the divas, tag titles or just about any mid card program flounder for that reason. But Undertaker's mania match? Not buying it at all.

    This doesn't measure up to their previous singles matches but its still very good in its own right and feels like a big deal from the start. We get both Jumbo and Misawa countering their trademark moves early on. I think this match is a great example of what made All Japan in the era great -- even when they were working at a slow pace and not going for a classic, their selling was above and beyond what anyone else was doing and makes you feel like you're watching something special. Fun stretch run with Jumbo blocking the frog splash after Misawa elbows, Jumbo hitting his backdrop suplexes and power bomb, and even a tease of the submission with the facelock. Time expires with a 2 count on another backdrop. ***3/4

    We start hot just like Kawada vs. Kobashi, with Taue attacking Kawada in the aisle and following with a tope and nodowa on the floor. These two never disappoint, its really just a matter of how epic its going to be. Kawada's offense is naturally stiff and crisp, working to finish with the power bomb. Taue gets what feels like an upset after a pair of nodowas. ****

    Sherri was awesome here on the way to the ring & before the match, doing a great job making Michaels look like a big deal. HBK was going out of his way to bump for Piper, who was moving pretty spryly during his early shine segment. HBK eventually delivers a reverse crescent kick as we're not yet in the Superkick era. HBK nails Piper with Sherri's boot which brings out Bret Hart to give Piper the boot to even things up. The ref then DQs piper to further their Mania storyline. ***1/4

    Nikita gives an interview about going face to face with someone. Also some clips of Rude/Steamboat and of Valentine, who I totally forgot was in WCW. These pale in comparison to WWF's packages.

    Anderson is as methodical as ever, and these two work a great match with sound transitions, selling and comebacks, all in about 10 minutes. Paul E had to wait a bit too long for the spot where he took a bump, but you had two all time greats doing their thing here and that spot wasn't about to bring it down. Rude is in to interfere but Steamboat turns the tables and hangs him over the ropes. WCW continues putting out awesome TV in 1992. ***1/2

    Hollywood has the most awful glasses ever and will not waste his time beating 3 men in the SMW title tourney. I kind of like this alternate universe Holly.

    Tim Horner is not only a volunteer probation officer who dabbled as a jobber in the WWF and NWA, he can sing to Garth Brooks. I know this made him a babyface in the south in 1992, but that is not the case in New York in 2013.

    Highlights from another wild brawl in the feud of the year from the Mid South Coliseum. Lumberjacks have chairs, Lawler & Jarret have boards and eventually a chain & garbage can. After Lee throws powder the dogs attack the lumberjacks and Moses or Jimmy Valiant make their way out. More awesome.
