  1. Why the hype about Big Dave here? Haven't plenty of folks who use stars thrown a lot at what many here or elsewhere would consider questionable matches?
  2. This. It was really cool to see his family. I have no idea who Shoemaker is, but he was basically useless, why would they even include him when you got Meltz & Laprade already ? Bullshit about WMIII (Hogan was shocked Andre didn't kick out of the legdrop, ya know) and chronology issues/WWE revisionism apart, I thought it was mostly really good. The end got me. I always find it fascinating when Vince almost looks like an actual human being. Flair's innuendo was pretty funny. It's too bad they didn't include the famous Beckett anecdote. Loved the Princess Bride stuff. Good stuff overall. He's the wrestling guy on Bill Simmons's site, which makes him an authority in the boss's eyes. But he's basically just Brooklyn Scott Keith without the asterisks. I'm looking forward to watching this weekend for this and other footage that should be really fun to see, but given the Simmons/Shoemaker dedication to wrestling history my expectations are otherwise low.
  3. Jericho has replaced Rusev against Undertaker.

  5. This was an absolute blast. I was concerned when the match was announced that it would simply be a backdrop for a Nakamura angle. While that eventually played out, they got a solid 12 minutes where Bryan showed some smooth, crisp mat work as a new addition to his game before building to a couple big spots without giving away the big match these two undoubtedly have in them. I really liked the spot where Bryan escaped the double wristlock by kicking away at AJ's arms, as well as the dragon screw counter to the windup Yes kick. No complaints on the finish or booking as it protected everyone while setting the table for bigger and hopefully better to come. ***3/4

  7. I'm pretty sure their only matches in recent months to go longer than 9-10 minutes were 2/3 Falls against Gable/Benjamin at the Rumble, a 4 way at Clash of Champions, Cesaro/Sheamus at Survivor Series and New day at HIAC.
  8. I've been wondering about this. If they actually work the GREATEST ROYAL RUMBLE EVER like a Royal Rumble, you're talking over 90 minutes for that match alone, closer to 2 hours if its not rushed (which it will be). Going to be a late Friday night.
  9. The Evolve shows are solid but the WWN Supershow was by far my favorite indie show of the weekend. Will write too much or too little (most likely) about everything I've watched from the weekend once I finish a couple other shows, but Ospreay/Riddle was the best match I saw all weekend other than Ciampa/Gargano, and everything on the show other than the women's match was good.
  10. What a freaking main event.
  11. It really stood out here. So simple, yet new and varied. Loved it.
  12. And Orton is the questionable ball four to break up a perfect game. We'll see if they can maintain the no hitter.
  13. Better than Mania! I am loving very single damn thing they do tonight.
  14. Shut it down after tonight. Best TV show of the year.
  15. Okay, heel Nakamura is the best thing to happen in some time. That was outstanding.
  16. Now that's an idea I'm on board with. You worry creative would quickly use a singles push to force a split, but I don't recall them a serious singles push for an active tag wrestler, so it'd be incredibly fresh.
  17. Is that a bad thing given the time most of their matches get?
  18. Bite your tongue! You know they'll get lost in the shuffle. At least this way there's an opportunity for them to be featured.
  19. Usos & New Day putting on their Wrestlemania match tonight. Hell of a start to the show.
  20. Muting my exclamation points until seeing if its given real time or is instead an angle setup for Nak and/or others.
  21. Its been said before, but everything -- good and bad -- rests at the top.
  22. From all accounts Brock is simply concerned with his paycheck.
  23. Matt, please count me out for the next 2 weeks.
  24. Was it always a native promotion? Or did he also originally look for it in Chyna?
  25. So I missed it because I went to bed as soon as the recap video started playing, but apparently when that wrapped up they went back to Reigns recovering and make his way back on the ramp. Any thoughts what that's about? Seems odd to put that kind of focus on him there.
