Iron Man tag was world's better than I thought possible. Both teams did so many little things throughout the match to play off of what just occurred and work into the story of the iron man gimmick. I'd probably go about ***3/4 due to a decent 5-6 minute stretch where it was a bit dull, but outside of that this was a lot of fun and never the bore that was possible. The finish was also well executed and timed perfectly. Not to get too kayfabe, but if Cesaro was the legal man at the finish, how come the ref didn't try to wave off anything when Sheamus was involved?
-
Love the flash pin opening there as well as Cesaro & Sheamus then killing clock and working like a proper heel team before going up 2-0. This match is vastly exceeding expectations thus far.
-
Color me shocked if the match lasts a fraction as long as this promo.

That was the best Bray match in quite some time. Not great, but it very much over delivered. Rollins was bumping all over the place to him over along the way and much of it looked very good. Not sure this is a feud we need to continue, but certainly feels like one that's getting a round 2.

Neville/Tozawa was on its way to being really great when they went to the finish. Still amazing how easily Tozawa can fire up any crowd. The man has purple rope immunity.
-
You would be correct.

So the US Title change may have been AJ's worst match of the year. Owens did not do anything to make that a match. Pretty disappointing.

I am super excited for this show as there is potential up and down the card. Joe has been very underwhelming on the main roster thus far, but the build for this match has been terrific and I have no reason do doubt a Brock match given time with an opponent who can push him. The ambulance gimmick can certainly bring things down, but there is no reason to doubt that Reigns & Strowman will kill each other along the way. Sasha & Alexa apparently do not care for each other at all which will hopefully translate to a fiery title match. Neville's been one of the best performers in the company this year and if that match is given time there's no reason it can't be great and a sleeper MOTN. The Iron Man match may very well be hit or miss, but hey, it could hit. Something to look forward to until its not. Miz/Ambrose and Rollins/Hocus Pocus are a great chance to snack, catch up on things online and do other things. Let's do it!

Has anyone taken the New Japan World app on firestick for a spin? How does it fare for streaming live, on demand and skipping around events? If its a winner I'd easily grab one to to access NJ on the big screen.

Can't believe I missed that for a work function.

[1983-06-12-MACW-Savannah, GA] Greg Valentine vs Ric Flair

Is this online? -
1) Its great to have AJ Styles again work a meaningful match on TV. He's been in the background for far too long since Mania. 2) Still amazing that Daniel Brywn, non-wrestling wrestling personality, is no worse than the second most over act on TV.

Night 2 was arguably a deeper show but I think night 1 had higher highs. Agree that Elgin/Omega was match of the weekend. Omega/Ishii was a terrific final with some truly memorable moments and a great finish, but think it would've benefited from a little editing. Now Omega/Lethal? Jay Lethal is a guy who is very much just there for me almost every time out, but this may have been my match of the night. A very basic match with Omega viciously working Lethal's taped ribs. They focused on that throughout the match until it was too much for Lethal to overcome and far from overstayed their welcome. Just tremendous work from both. Ishii/Sabre was similarly simple with ZSJ working the arm and Ishii selling it like a champ. Another fun, quick semifinal with the winner pulling double duty and not looking to go too long early. The undercard tag matches were also much better on this night, with a strong IWGP Jr. Tag Title match between the Bucks and Roppongi Vice, LIJ against Juice and friends, as well as CHAOS vs. Bullet Club in a match that was good fun once it got passed the comedy. Really strong show and weekend. Cannot wait for the G1!

For those that haven't seen it, Night 1 is flying under the radar for what should be a legit SOTY contender. Probably well short of Wrestle Kingdom in my book, but it was a ton of fun. There was certainly some unnecessary filler in the middle, but it started and ended strong as hell with the last 3 matches all coming in at the 4+ star range for me. The opening 10 man tag was terrific for what it was designed for. Zack/Juice increased my already ridiculously high expectations for Juice's G1 debut and was yet another ZSJ match I really liked despite generally not being a big fan. Naito/Ishii was a terrific sprint that somehow went 16 minutes with some of the smoothest and most logical transitions around. While not enough sustained, meaningful selling to merit match of the year talk, it was great, crisp action the whole way and a strong showcase of what these two do so well. Omega/Elgin was a legit MOTYC. Big, outrageous spots that were almost all sold and given time to matter aside for a few choice, late match no-sell occasions that only added to the finishing stretch. Killer strikes, great drama and chemistry. Absolutely loved this. Okada/Cody was far and away the best Cody match I've ever seen. Perhaps that doesn't register as high praise to some, but they worked a great match with counters and near falls that actually had you biting at the finish of a match that should've left no room for doubt. Add in the storytelling with Omega's presence building to matches with both Okada & Cody, but doing so without compromising the finish. Really strong show. Hell, it may be because I haven't heard JR in ages and wasn't familiar with Josh Barnett as I've exclusively watched NJ with Japanese commentary, but evne thought they did a good job on the big matches.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?

Anything on Slammiversary worth checking out? -
83-89 for Flair? Depending on what one looks back upon with the most fondness I can see folks going with shorter ranges here.
-
Great call on Roman Reigns '15- present. The same can be said for Styles, although that may extend even further back for those familiar with his TNA work. I neglected to mention the AJ crew with it being accepted a a given that their work during the 90s is at an all time level for all four. How about Akiyama? What's the peak period for him?

Oh maaaan, Natalya is an absolute trip on Total Divas - drunk-dialing Stephanie, purposely crashing her car so WWE wouldn't discover that she ate pot brownies given to her by Paige, and just generally being a neurotic "crazy cat lady" type. It's amazing! Ha she sounds like a total blast that makes for fun television. Not sure that would really play on Smackdown, but it'd probably be more interesting.
-
Natalya is very much just there for me. Her work in the ring and personality generally do not stand out at all -- for better or worse. Certainly capable of delivering very good matches like those with Charlotte, and just as rarely putting forth a real clunker. As a result she's probably more valuable for providing some glue to that side of the roster, but not many highlights. I've never watched Total Divas so I'm curious as to how she is presented and comes across there in contrast with what we see of her character.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?

Call me crazy but I think that's a very smart move. -
Love the topic. I'd argue Danielson/Bryan with a second, arguably superior peak from 10/11-14/15, depending if you're willing to include periods where he was a part timer. A very different run from the ROH peak, but no less impressive. My latest pick would be Io Shirai from probably 15-17. That's just what immediately comes to mind without reflecting for a few.

Your mileage may vary on "considerable" expense, but the most popular burners on Amazon right now are in the $50-70 range, and single-layer 25GB discs are about $25 for 50. I only got around to it this year, and was shocked by how cheap the whole thing was. 25GB on there? Do those need to be formatted as DVDs or can the media files be copied directly? Is this a very time consuming process?
-
Really not sure they could've done anything better with the blocks. This protects Okada/Naito as a potential (likely?) Dome main event while also giving Omega a clear opportunity to finally get a win over Okada and build the next outing as yet another huge match. Add in fresh matches with Ibushi, Juice & Elgin and I absolutely cannot wait for this to get started. Naito/Omega in a rematch of last year's MOTY seems the most likely final, but I wouldn't rule out Elgin, or perhaps even Suzuki sneaking in there. So many matches to look forward to!

Thanks, definitely good to know about from the laptop. Maybe I'm missing something as I haven't picked up a Chromecast yet, but what do you mean about the phone and NJW app?
