Not really a spoiler but just in case

    WWE TV 8-10-8/16

WWE may have spoiled the results of some title matches at NXT:Takeover on tonight's tapings. Weird.

It's a habit I can't possibly break. It's obviously not hate reading though, that doesn't exist. I'm just waiting for the board to get better. Cute. I was being honest though, goc keeps bringing WF as a topic when we already know what kind of place that is and the kind of reaction the WWE section has to everything that happens in the company. And it doesn't seem like he has a good time reading that board either.

So can we make this the official WWE thread and have a big one instead of posting 1 every week? I mean, it's pretty clear there isn't much interest in opening one thread every Monday. There is an 18 page thread on wrestlingforum of people crying about Randy Orton poking fun at Kevin Owens' weight in a tiny little throwaway line from last night. I'd rather not even see Daniel Bryan come back if it's just going to lead to a bunch of 'OH MY GOD HE ISN'T GOING TO MAIN EVENT WRESTLEMANIA~!!!" bullshit. I think you need to stop going to wrestlingforum. At least take a break from the "General WWE" section for a while. It's like you are "hate reading" that board

Rusev's face on the Bulgarian flag was an awesome touch.

They are in Bryan's hometown, she was a face by proxy.

Apparently Ziggler got his Instagram hacked and might get Rollins'd.
  8. To be fair, he always called it the "seis diecinueve" when he was in WWE. So I guess it makes sense he just translated that to english.
  9. This summer has been a motherfucker for wrestling. RIP Roddy, 61 is still way too young.
  10. Yeah, the Attitude Era apologists loved this talking point. Wasn't it unfortunately also parroted by Meltzer? We know that WWE promos are all scripted ahead of time and that the guys have to sit there and wait for the other guy to finish before it's their turn to talk, so I was always confused by the idea of anyone getting destroyed unless they were scripted to get destroyed. Unless people meant he was getting destroyed in terms of delivery or emotion or whatever. Rock has always scripted his own promos, so I don't think Creative was writing his promos for him this time around. Pretty sure he wrote them himself. THe content fell absolutely flat. And I had a problem with the delivery as well. There seemed no charisma in his delivery. He wasn't Randy Orton, exactly, but he sure as hell wasn't the lively charismatic Rock. This is why anytime I talk about that run I say it was Dwayne Johnson playing The Rock. I think he had to spend so much time learning to tone it down when becoming an actor that he just wasn't able to find his way back to that really over the top ultra charismatic delivery from 98-2002. The "he's doing bad promos on purpose" talking point was also fueled by a facebook promo where the Rock on that video was vastly different from the one we got on TV.
  11. Yeah, he talks about it in his book. He never finished college and always goes back to saying that wrestling is the only thing he knows what to do, is good at it and still feels a great deal of passion about it. The problem is that in his mind, he's in great shape. Even though he knows concussions are a big deal and he's had a number of them, not only does he feel fine but he's gotten confirmation from a renown doctor that he's in condition to perform. There's no "stop or you might die" advice, on the contrary, he's being told "you are fine, go back to doing it". It's gotta be hard as fuck not to listen to a legit doctor that is pretty much giving the green light to wrestle and shows you stuff that turns almost every optimistic wish you had about your injury true. I'm not saying I believe Bryan is really 100% -as it has been mentioned before, the more concussions you get, the more prone to get them you are, no matter how great your brain looks in a scanner - and I get people being worried about him but I also understand where he's coming from.
  12. He pretty much confirms that he'll wrestle "somewhere" if WWE doesn't clear him (and has talked to Vince and Hunter about it), and he admits there's a real chance they never will. He also says he'll change his style - but who knows what that really means - and gives more details on his concussion and arm injury.
  13. I guess it depends on when his deal expires. I don't see WWE paying him not to work for 2-3 years. At some point they'll probably strike a deal with him if he really wants out because he "needs" to wrestle to express all the ideas he has about wrestling. It was kinda crazy hear him tell the story about gardening his plants and coming up with a bunch of ideas he desperately wants to do in a ring. I think it's more likely they just cave in and let him wrestle in 6-7 more months if he's still "cleared with no limitations" and feeling good.
  14. I've heard two Bryan interviews promoting his book. In the first he was asked about his health and he said he was feeling great and just trying to get cleared. The second one was on the Cheap Heat podcast (Grantland) were he went more in detail about it. He's been 100% cleared with no limitations by a doctor in Phoenix he called "the Superbowl neurologist" - I guess he was trying to say he was the best out there. Not sure it's the same guy he got Muscle Activation Therapy for his arm issue - but the WWE doctor is hesitant to clear him . He basically said the company was of the opinion of him not wrestling any more and there's a lot of "complicated stuff" for him to get back in the ring. He did admit it was good that the company was looking out for him (they are also looking after themselves but that's another story) but he didn't agree with what they thought was best for him. Not sure if it will lead to a Kurt Angle situation - minus the "crazy" part - but it seemed to me that if he can't wrestle for WWE anymore he'll just do it somewhere else. He also confirms once again he got the Wrestlemania Main Event thanks to Punk leaving. Link to the interview: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/grantland/player?id=13303418 edit: Now that I think about it, he might just end up in a Rey Mysterio situation.
  15. Wasn't Galloway pretty much put permanently in the doghouse after he got supposedly beat up by his girlfriend??
  16. After all the hope Brock re-signing gave me for fresh matches, we get another Taker match instead of the many options that are more compelling to watch. Meh.
  17. Casas is the only guy that makes me forget how fucking horrible and distracting Lucha commentary is. I've already talked about how I can barely watch Lucha with how unbearable commentary is, so the guy who is able to make me enjoy the action and tune out play-by-play he gets my vote.
  18. WWE treating Barclays like it's Sumo Hall.
  19. Absolutely loved this. But did Will (or someone) fell asleep in the first 30-40 minutes? I could've sworn I was hearing someone snoring or doing some very heavy breathing for a long while. It was very distracting and very funny
  20. Meltzer was saying on WOR how WWE tends to change their mind about the MITB winner at the last minute (Bryan, Sandow) and then Vince hating the winner the next day. Don't think he'll hate Fella but I agree that he will be sorry they gave the briefcase to him.
  21. This is fucking bullshit RIP Dusty. True legend.
  22. TEXAS DEATH MATCH. Gotta see it to believe it. But good lord I was sold just by Austin switching to Stone Cold at the end of the podcast. It was like he just went into promo mode for a future video package out of the blue, just in case.
  23. Dusty Finish? Man I can't believe he actually won
