RE: Bryan's merch Going for that Che Guevara feel. I think it's an improvement at least.

Most people that know me know that I love wrestling, but besides a couple of girlfriends, they have no idea who much I love and how much I watch/have watched. Someone might bring up wrestling when telling a joke or a weird reference and I jump in and say I've always like it but the thing ends there, nobody has ever asked me much about it because no one gives a shit But I gotta say, wrestling doesn't have nearly the bad rep it has in the US here in Chile. Like, it's seen as a nerdy thing if you still watch it but it was huge here in the Attitude Era and had a considerable resurgence between 05' and 08', so there's a whole generation that remembers it fondly - and those who didn't watch it, don't really give a damn about it - there's no baggage from decades of being portrayed as a joke or just "fake fighting" even though wrestling had been on TV in Chile since the 60's (and had a couple of "booms", so to speak). I mean, it was never the coolest thing to be a fan of or anything like that, but it certainly isn't as bad as in the US.

I don't know. I would make a very simple t-shirt with a little logo of D-Bry doing the "Yes pose" - kinda like a wink to the Air Jordan logo - in the front and then a "YES" on the back. That's it.
-
Yup. I remember Dave pointing out every mediocre buyrate or low ratings gain Punk was involved in when he was champion. He never talked about his merch numbers.
-
Yeah, they've used it a lot in recent years. Even in cases were it was pretty obvious the Rumble winner wasn't going to actually headline the show, like Sheamus and Del Rio.

Copy/pasting is really weird. There's no "paste" option when I right click something I copied. When I click on the "paste" icon on the reply feature, nothing appears....until I hit "Post". Only then I can see that the thing I was trying to c/p actually worked.

Again, with no quarter hours is kinda pointless but it's still the same pattern. Compared to last week, the last hour only had 170k more viewers, that doesn't say much honestly.

Some camera or sound guy is getting fired tonight. You could hear Cena and Orton calling spots all match long, this was even worse than some CM Punk matches, just blatant stuf.. At some point they were on the tope rope and you could actually see them talking to each other

Dirty Dutch taped an interview with Austin today

Real Americans vs Sheamus/Christian was all kinds of fun. Man, this Elimination Chamber could be one of the best ones they've ever done.

I have a feeling that 5 years from now, someone is gonna ask "what was the plan that time they made Miz bytch on commentary? I remember him interrupting filler matches on RAW for 5 weeks or so and then having a very short lived run tagging with Ziggler. But then it suddenly stopped. Hell, Miz was fired 3 months later. Did he fucked up or pissed someone off? And the answer will be "nah, he just sucked".
-
How do we know Bryan/Orton had a bad number? Do we have the quarter hours? The last hour of RAW has been losing viewers for a while now. The day Batista returned, the last 60 minutes of the show - which had the "cliffhanger" of Cena showing up to avenge his father - lost 600,000 viewers...

Considering their consistenly good ratings and the ammount of cash networks give to other programs who have a smaller audience, I don't see 220-250 million as a crazy number for WWE's prodcut (wanting NASCAR money is insane). Hell, if they wanna get double of what they get now I wouldn't call them crazy either. But yeah, the fact that wrestling is a low brow product and that advertirser don't pay a lot of money for it, makes it hard for them to get a big TV deal. I guess what I find "unfair" is how the bad perception wrestling has fucks their abilty to negociate despite having a good and very loyal audience.

http://nypost.com/2014/02/08/valentines-breakup-nbcuniversal-and-wwe-may-split-up/ I guess they'll never get a fair deal.

Yeah, they came back. Not sure exactly when. Fritz still runs the show, does a decent job overall. Not as funny as when D'Lo and the others were on, but it's not bad. Steve (can't spell the last name, won't try) is more of an MMA guy and he has good chemistry with Fritz, but the 3rd guy, Michael Wiseman, is a poor fit, in my opinion. He comes across as being too opinionated for his own good and when he does makes a good point, there is not logical connection to what Fritz or Steve say. He's sometimes contrary just to be contrary. Again, it's not a bad show -- and they get some okay guests, like Cornette most recently -- but it's not what it once was. Aw man, I loved the original trio of Fritz, Vito and the other guy (can't remember his name). Even when D'Lo joined it was a very good listen. Good to know that Fritz still does it though. -

Between The Ropes still exists?! Do they still get good guests for interviews? Are they still funny? -
I have the same issue

Nah. He wont talk until he's completely out of WWE. It all seems to indicate he didn't burn bridges with Vince and that the old man wants him back ASAP, so I'm sure they've been talking lately. Punk is not gonna come out and tell what happened unless it's safe to do it or it doesn't matter anymore and it doesn't look like we are there yet.
-
Also, Cena coming out for revenge in the go home show for the Rumble lost like 1 million viewers in that last hour.
-
That's not a huge drop considering the patern of the last few weeks. It's been a while that the 3rd hour drops. A quarter hour breakdown would be more telling.
-
I just wont believe HHH going over until I see it, it's just too damn tragic/funny.

Taped for this week's Smackdown!: Bryan vs Cesaro
-
I think the point of it all is that regardless of Hunter/Steph's intentions with the promos - play to the internet, put themselves over, harm Bryan, make DB a popular underdog or whatever the fuck they are trying to do - that kinda interview doesn't work when you wanna make someone a legit drawing star. Right?
