Eh, the last time he did that with a hot crowd it resulted in a pretty great match against Cena at NOC 08'. Or at least that's how I remember it.

Wrestlemania weekend and the post-Mania RAW is a whole different beast compared to Chicago - I think controlling the crowd will have more to do with match results and card placement - but I'm very interested in watching how they book the show. Maybe they wont care as much because a lot of crowd reactions get lost in a Dome and the post-Mania RAW crowd will get the "bizarro world" treatment? Idk, this show proved they can book an amazing overall show - good matches and advance storylines in a compelling way - but they did it because they knew they had to deliver so the Chicago crowd didn't ruin the show. I wonder if Mania will get the same approach.

Regardless of the no show by Punk, this was a great RAW. D-Bry vs HHH feels more important after what happened tonight, at least now I'm interested. And Orton has to be the worst booked champ since Mysterio, right?
-
So WWE.com just confirmed Batista vs Bryan for tonight. I think this show is even more stacked than last week.

For more than a week, people going to RAW tomorrow have been trying to organize the highjacking of the show on this twitter account https://twitter.com/ChicagoRAWcrowd They even ended up with a list https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BhxCrWGCUAAy5bo.jpg:large

I agree with this, I don't think there is a way to put Punk in the title match and not come off as random or not making much sense. That's still a weak reason imo. At no point it seemed he was going to win the Rumble so there's wasn't a feeling he was really "robbed". If anything, he should have a match against Kane Yup, I think Punk leaving and coming back will erase any kind of "backlash" from the fans for being inserted in the title match out of nowhere. He will be seen as a better option than Batista and Orton and most fans will rally behind him. If he didn't leave and somehow had gotten a title shot instead of Bryan, most fans would've booed him though (I think). That's the best idea I've heard for this mess. Maybe a match is a little far fetched considering HHH barely wrestles anymore and an impromptu RAW match would seem a little weird. But Punk helping Bryan get the title shot while fucking up Hunter's plans would be the best way to go.

I hope they are smarter than thinking the HOF ceremony could be used as the last big test for the stream before Wrestlemania...

So an update on PPV buys from 2013 show that the summer run wasn't as bad as first reported.

I just hope Hunter goes full heel next week in Chicago. Make the crowd and Bryan force him to admit he's been screwing DB since Summerslam or whatever. Get some real fucking heat and not the passive aggressive "shades of grey" troll bullshit the Authority has been doing for months. I don't think D-Bry is gonna wrestle for the title at Mania, but they could book HHH saying the only way he wrestles him is with the stipulation of Bryan never fighting for the title again if he loses. Then you make Hogan or Vince come out and announce that if Bryan wins, he's in the title match.

He's slurring badly too. It's like watching and hearing a broken down boxer

See that D-Bry commercial? that's what they should've been doing months ago. Don't find petty reasons to not support your most over wrestler, just do whatever you have at your disposal to make money out of the guy. Late as hell, but good job nonetheless by WWE. Also, I'm happy as fuck they didn't break The Shield tonight. If Cena's injury is serious, Shield vs Wyatts II is an amazing backup plan

My only complaint about the Chamber match was crowd reaction, the only moment I really felt tension and drama was when Bryan kicked out of the RKO and the fans thought that maybe he could pull it off. All six guys worked their asses off and I agree with Loss and Will about the pacing and roles each guy played to perfection, but at that point of the show I needed more crowd involvement for the match to really connect with me.
-
After watching Bryan on SD! running another gauntlet I was wondering who was the last guy on WWE who wrestled as much as D-Bry every time they were on WWE TV? Has there ever been a guy on that company who has had a similar run on TV? Not saying it's a big deal or anything, I'm just curious. Maybe mookie could have the answer to this?

It weird, if his return meant something for the big spike in buys for HIAC, shouldn't at least some of that carry over to Survivor Series and TLC?

Just posting this so any rating discussion/panic is out of the window Similar trend as always with different names in different segments.

Lineup is out:

Yeah, doesn't surprise me that Henry is doing jobs left and right considering he wants new people on top and help the new guys get over (in his interview with Rosenberg he said he was friends with Cesaro, Shield and Bryan). Besides, they can always rebuild him pretty quickly, he was happy go lucky Kool Aid man before going in that amazing run in 2011.
-
Very good interview with Cena. You can tell the guy know how shit works and that he's a company guy first and foremost, he's learning Mandarin for god's sakes. It was funny hearing Austin call John out on his STF and Cena giving Steve a year notice for Wrestlemania 31.

The set up for the AA was great as well.
-
Motherfucking Cesaro. That is all.
-
How sad is that this 3-4 week feud between the Wyatts and The Shield is the best thing they've booked in a long ass time? Can't even remember the last time a match felt important without a belt on the line.
-
The latter...or he just officially turned heel 10 minutes ago.
-
Yeah, posted them in the Meltzer thread
