  1. I also wonder if Endeavor keeps most of the WWE people that are able to make the roster drink the company's kool-aid like they have for so many years. Even when morale is down, there's always been a "we are family, what we do is special/important so hang in there" narrative that seems to keep things afloat no matter what. If this new parent company makes things even more corporate and soulless -and gets rid of some redundant, but "important" roles in WWE- will the wrestlers still believe they can/should take whatever bullshit comes their way because they "bring smiles to people's faces"?
  2. He got THREE clean PPV wins over Rollins. The last one with a torn pec and a main event of a PLE. And all of that was with Vince as head of creative. By that time people thought he was the one to beat Roman because he was treated like a big returning star and was organically over as a pure babyface. Not a lot of people were doubting Cody was probably the one to dethrone Roman back in May-June 2022.
  3. Ae they doing the tournament this year? That was one of 2022's biggest disappointments to me. Ended up being a horrible tourney no one gave a single fuck about and had two heels winning and immediately acting like babyfaces when they got their belts. I hope if TK does decided to run it back he does it with blocks or a round robin to lead up toe the Finals (or semis + Finals).
  4. Judging by Ari/Endeavor's experience with horrible behavior, they'll probably pay any victim (and/or just shut them up) before they speak up.
  5. Some interesting tidbits from WOR: -Vince and Nick Khan signed new contracts not long ago. Vince's has important language in case he's fired (making it almost impossible for him to get canned). -Dave said all the allegations against Vince have been taken care of, with all the accusers getting paid. "There's nobody else that's gonna come out of the woodwork because that's what the (Board) investigation was all about" was a direct quote from Meltzer.
  6. I think Bubba is talking about Okada vs Naito in 2018, when Naito had already went through 24-30 months of a very hot "rebellious" heel run and got the title shot 1 year later than he should've gotten it. Naito won the G-1 and everyone was certain he would win at WK...but he lost, Okada got his historic title reign and ended up losing to Omega. The Naito win took 2 more years and three other people got the IWGP title before him in that time. When he won in 2020 it was a feel good moment but it felt too late, as by point Ibushi was the one that was the hottest in the promotion (and it took 1 more year for him to get the belt). The happy accident of Naito being squandered by Gedo was Kenny Omega becoming a massive draw. Maybe Sami is the Kenny in this Reigns/Cody analogy?
  7. Jay White would make no sense but I can't help but think it's him when the word "mystery partner" shows up.
  8. From Cokeboy to Vincente Maldonado, what a turnaround.
  9. Holy shit LMAO at Vince
  10. I laughed hard at the response Roman (and Paul) gave Hausman after that question about Endeavor possibly buying WWE
  11. Yeah, that Snoop save was impressive as shit. He did everything right in a split second. BTW, what is the Tribal Chief gonna do to the Usos? mofos couldn't even do their interference right. Puerto Rico gotta be Cody vs Solo, no?
  12. HOLY FUCK ROMAN WON @KawadaSmileI know at this point you already out partying in the beach but the Tribal Chief overcame booking 101 and a match structure designed for him to lose. He is truly undeniable. The second half of the match was peak WWE main event style. Loved how they built to every single nearfall they had.
  13. I skipped through most of the HIAC, the highspots were cool though.
  14. This may be my Charlotte hatred speaking but I thought Bianca vs Asuka was better than yersterday's title match. I'm a sucker for Bianca powering through stuff and how they worked that final sequence was fucking awesome.
  15. Triple threat was fanfuckingtastic. Best triple threat ever?
  16. Watching on a delay like yesterday. That opener was cool as hell, watching Brock having fun playing a babyface in peril and doing comebacks was dope.
  17. And what a ticking clock of a PR nightmare either because of one of them getting into legal issues due to horrible behavior or one of them talking trash about the other company and starting a dumb internal fight.
  18. Not that long ago Kevin Owens was thinking about staying in WWE or going with his friends to AEW. He stayed and got two consecutive Wrestlemania main events. In one he had a match most people thought would never happen against one of his idols in Stone GOAT and this year he gets to be with his brother in wrestling and be part of another really special moment. Safe to say dude made the best decision in his professional life.
  19. Watched with a delay and skipped around some of the matches. Agreed that this has to be the most satisfying WM ever. Even Theory winning was the right call. I marked like a mofo for the El Generico shout out and Steenerico using PWG gear. Match was a little too kick out focused for my liking (as in, it was the only thing that held the match together) but it's Wrestlemania and like 10 months of build up so I can't say it wasn't warranted. Rhea winning made me really happy, she's ready for a big run. And Dom was fucking awesome as a heel. His sis wanting to slap the shit out of him after he threw that drink was funny as hell The tag team spotfest was straight out of Reseda.
  20. I think the point was Mox saying Punk was jumping on his bad leg. As in, putting his weight in the thing that's supposed to be hurt. To be honest I didn't make anything out of Mox's words because I also thought he meant Punk was limping around backstage. But then Meltz and Alvarez said it was "hopping around on his bad leg".
  21. Mox made a snide comment about Punk hopping around in one leg backstage (and Meltzer made it sound like it was the hurt leg). Which aligns with DMJ's theory that at least to Mox, Punk wasn't hurt enough to not do the squash/angle he wanted to run with him.
  22. I'm very sorry for Adam Cole fans but I gotta say, I'm really happy he's next in line for Jericho to spend the next 2-4 months with. Automatic skip and don't got to worry about a wrestler I'm fond of wasting time with the JAS So do we get a 4 vs 4 Elite vs BCC at DoN? Anarchy in the Arena II? (for the love of Terry Funk, someone make Danielson wear a safety helmet) or can we get Golden Elite vs BCC + Punk so the internet explodes in a blaze of fuckery lol.
  23. I highly doubt he'd refuse to work with anyone in AEW but his hatred towards social media has probably gotten stronger in the last year, lol. It's kinda curious how backstage problems seem to get out in the open when Bryan is not on the road with the company (early 2022 post Hangman feud, out two months after the concussions at DoN and then now).
  24. My thing isn't about the "risk" of Mox being a free agent but him having the position and mindset of "I'm making Tony a favor here". Which is pretty evident if you listening to that first part of the Renee podcast. TK gives him the belt and it feels like he can't say no to the guy because well, he's the one keeping the company afloat while every other top guy is injured and he's doing it when he doesn't even have to (because he's not contractually obligated to do anything). All this during a time were there was already a lot of tension in the locker room around Punk because the Cabana stuff was already a gossip that was making some wrestlers resent dude. And now you are trying to rush him back so you can go for a really weird angle Mox wants to run. It's just a mess no matter how you look at it. And even though circumstances were very different. Tony had already done the "give the belt to a star that's not under contract" with Cody months prior. That one didn't work out and made a weird mess out of the TNT division at the time too.
