I get the move in terms of wanting him to try new things and giving him more time with the mic and his character. But so far he's just become a replaceable midcarde, not someone who has grown as a wrestler. I agree with @DMJ , he should go bigger with the "sports entertainer" shtick. Just don't give a fuck and see what comes out of that.

Tony announcing there's gonna be an announcement next week Gotta be Collision. Man, Daniel García has gotten worse since joining JAS. At this point he's just another guy in the ring, when that was supposed to be thing that compensated all the other things he lacked as a performer. Saw the last part of the main event (from Mox getting slammed on the glass, gawd damn) and if this angle doesn't lead to at least Ibushi showing up and turning the tides towards the Elite then this feud is gonna feel very underwhelming to me. I guess it will depend on what the match is for DoN and if the BCC wins so they can continue to set up Kenny getting the final W eventually.

The Nigel return rumors have started to gain some traction https://www.fightful.com/wrestling/nigel-mcguinness-files-trademark-ring-name?utm_source=TW-Fightful&utm_medium=Fightful Wrestling News&utm_campaign=dlvr.it Man, if he truly is having a comeback (for 1 or more matches) I hope he's been training for a while because All In is only three months away and that sounds like very little time to get into ring shape. Specially if he wants some sort of marquee matchup for that show.

I was going to push back on the squashes but then I remembered that the most momentum Danielson ever had in AEW after his debut was when he ran through the Dark Order before facing Hangman Page. Having said that, I'm not sure a couple of vignettes and squashes would've helped guys like Cole or White to not cool off. I also think these guys don't want quick matches on TV, they want to have quality outings, and a lot of them want to do it with newer/younger/less known talent.

Seems like they could open up the whole damn stadium with the way tickets are selling, amazing. Also, not sure how legit it is but I read that the plan is to make Rampage the "Dark/Elevation" show and tape it every Wednesday. ROH would be taped every Saturday with Collision.

RE: Starks. I think some of you guys continue to try to find reasons behind TK's bad booking when at this point I'm pretty sure it's basically that: bad booking. I have no clue if Ricky stays or leaves soons, but if anything, Tony has showed he's willing to push people that could be perceived as a relevant signing by WWE, not put them on ice. Tony is just not good at week to week TV booking, at all. He relies almost 100% on the wrestlers to do the heavy lifting, he's good at putting together matches that could be interesting and that's about it.

After three weeks of staying put with the ratings against heavy competition, Dynamite got hit big this week. Good thing is them Wembley tickets still selling, so everyone in WWE vs AEW stan wats has ammunition to shit pots about them! 50k already is fucking insane.

Ricky should be a guy that is lined up for big Ws at Forbidden Door and All In (that way you compensate using him as White's first opponent). Then you make him take the title off MJF. Will TK do it with all the other fuckery going around in his locker room? I hope so....

Even though I haven't watched much of anything from this world title program, I thought it was a really good idea to give these guys the shot to have a main title feud to test the waters for new people. Having Elite vs BCC as a back up so the PPV doesn't rely solely on Darby, JB, Sammy and MJF is a really smart idea too. But I watched tonight's main event and was taken aback by how little the crowd cared about all four of the guys. I get that the finish was never in doubt but man, they tried some stuff that normally gets a good pop and got nothing. Were the fans quiet all night or something?

Really sorry @Matt D , I guess ROH will be the new Dark/Elevation? There goes my hopes of ever having a round robin type tournament in AEW too...
-
In modern times, no doubt. Jim Londos had bigger crowds in the 30's for some shows in Europe or am I mixing stuff up?
-
I wasn't that big of a fan of his tag team run with Aries, but wouldn't that count too? I think his best was 2012-2013 runs with The Shield, it's the best he's ever been at working the crowd as a babyface, imo.
-
I agree with this, and considering we don't have Terry's main run as "has to have the best match of the night" run as NWA champ, it's hard to judge him against more modern "big time" wrestlers. But his floor is the most entertaining I've ever seen from a wrestler and his highs are so damn emotional and incredible that it puts him over the top for me. The "catalogue" criteria I've always been very inconsistent when comparing wrestlers. I guess I just like Terry more. Funk is my n°1 and Danielson has gone up to top 5 compared to 2016.. Wait, that spot is enough to take him out of a ballot? shiiiiit.

From what I've been gathering, All In's pre sale is gonna take a while (they have more than 1 date for them), and it's gonna be a huge success. Seems the 40k "goal" I and many others had is gonna be reached pretty damn fast.

If the first few month of Collision are centered around another JAS feud vs the hot star, it's an instant skip for me. Maybe after All In, and if Punk stays healthy, I could check it, considering a really like FTR and Rick Starks will probably go with the Saturday crew.
-
what the hell were they thinking with that shirt??
-
Not sure, if Jericho did carny his way into a Punk feud, that's still 7 weeks away from happening, at the earliest.
-
Oh shit at least that would explain why Dave has been annoyed as fuck at times with this whole Punk deal. Including that rant about his sources using him (Meltzer) and getting tired of it.
-
In a perfect world, this BCC vs Elite feud could have an incredible 2nd chapter if Ibushi and Punk get involved after DoN. Sadly, this is not a perfect world.
-
That's what makes this thing entertaining to follow, at least to me. When Starks hangs out backstage with Cody it's covered but never treated as a big deal, but with all the fuckery Punk brings and the current situation he's in with AEW, it's bound to create overblown controversy and I'm here for it
-
Gotta say, the "what's Punk doing this week" news cycle hasn't gotten old for me yet. It's the right amount of fuckery with a taste of "not a big deal that people will make a big deal no matter what" that still keeps me entertained.
-
If we can't get Punk vs any of the Elite can we at least get a proxy match and see what he and Ibushi can do? Could be cool for Wembley...
-
I guess but like I said before, if you wanna use Punk to try and repeat what he did for MJF, then use it for Darby because that's almost a sure fire hit and doesn't have the trouble nor the uncertainty of doing it with Sammy. If they are so hellbent on Sammy, use Christian like they did for Jungle Boy.
-
More often than not, a match doesn't elevate you to main event status by itself, you gotta add some character work that goes along (hopefully) with a good feud. Considering Sammy hasn't had the latter, they only have to former to push the narrative that "he's ready".
-
A heel CM Punk with a 3-6 month feud with Darby could solidify him as a main event player, just like the MJF feud did for Max.
