Surprised at how little the crowd reacted to both coffin drops by Darby. Thought they were done perfectly as nearfalls but Jungle Boy teasing using the belt got a bigger reaction.
-
6 man tag was dope. I think HOB has done more for these belts than the best of 7 early in the year.
-
I'm watching this late. Did they royally fuck up micking up the crowd? I'm three matches in and it sounds like no one gives a fuck. The only two big reactions so far were RICKAAAAAYYYY eliminating Juice and White-O and the final minutes of the awesome tag title match. Jarret's run as a midcard stooge is fucking awesome. I think we could get a cool 3 month run with him and the TNT title Cole vs Jericho was so bad I skipped like half of it, I hope the feud continues so I can continue to skip 1 match and not 2 going forward.

How in the name of fuck they didn't tape this 2 weeks ago and show a 4 minute clip on Dynamite?!?!
-
I'm also not sure Danielson isn't hurt. He hasn't wrestle a single time since March and he's someone that has always preferred working consistently instead of taking breaks. For a while I thought TK was giving him a mini vacation because he was gonna have a very bussy summer but between his inactivity and Collision needing all the help it can get, I no longer see Khan giving him permission to work the G-1 . If I end up being totally wrong and he is booked for that tour, I don't think it would affect All In at all. He'd probably take a big L at Wembley and then take a month off to rest.
-
I guess Claudio tapes a month's worth of ROH in June so he can work the G-1.
-
Hopefully she can come back for All In and challenge for the belt.
-
Yup, that's the second biggest thing they could book to garner interest (make people tune in for the following Dynamite) and probably the most realistic one.

The fact that's in Chicago is a tell that Punk will be there. I do think he should show up asap because they need *something* to sell that big ass arena and "first edition of Collision" is not gonna be it.
-
Legit scared of Anarchy in the Arena taking two of three guys out for months. Those guys are gonna do some wild fucking shit on Sunday.
-
Seems Punk is a go and Collision will be officially announced at the United Center. Man, I hope he shows up tonight because only 3 weeks to fill that place up is a not an easy task.
-
No doubt, if he has any say on his own programs, he'll more often than not end up disappointing the fans that want him to see him win meaningful matches and/or be involved in the top programs of the company. I think Danielson could be useful in a booking committee. From everything I've read and heard from him, he's hit or miss with his ideas so if he has someone that can pick and choose the good ones, he could be a good asset in that regard. But the problem in AEW is that it seems there's no one capable of doing that job, so people like Mox, Jericho (and now possibly Dragon) end up doing the first thing that comes to mind and that's that. So unless someone with a track record like Scott D'Amore show up and help out, I don' think any name involved in the booking process should garner much optimism.

Can...can he just help out via Zoom while he's touring in Japan?
-
I liked how they used that DQ for Starks vs White. I still don't think either one should lose soon but at least they are gonna save that L for the PPV. The pop for Hangmayne was MASSIVE. Don't like Danielson being in Anarchy in the Arena because I know he'll be a dumbass and do something that will risk another concussion but the feud calls for that match to happen so, alas. I really, really hope this feuds goes beyond the PPV. And I'm still waiting for Ibushi down the line!
-
I hope those plans change. And if they don't , I truly hope TK doesn't create another belt.
-
Now I need a comp for TK and a comic book writer. Is he Zeb Wells?
-
Collision has been officially announced for June 17th Miro and Andrade being part of the promotional poster, with Punk sson to be in there is too funny There's a lot of time till College Football season but I wonder if Tony will waive the flag during those months or will he try to book "PPV on TV" type of shows.
-
I feel TK learned the wrong lesson from Revolution. A show that did well enough and surpassed very low expectations after a really shitty build and almost zero promotion. DoN has had a more focused build up but as of right now we only have 2 matches that can be promoted -and both of them are below the Iron Man match for Revolution, which was already a weak (ish) selling point- and the feud that has the most stars (Elite vs BCC) still doesn't have a match that can be hyped up to boost ticket sales. Forbidden Door and All In can sell based on the "AEW brand" and the special feel of a PPV/big show taking place in a new market. Double of Nothing is going back to Vegas with little to nothing to garner attention with 2 weeks left. We'll see if this Wednesday we get all the main matches booked and if they make any difference in the 10 days before the show. IIRC, Revolution was able to sell enough tickets in the last week to save itself from being a failure.

Oh hell yeah, and Samoa Joe unloading on a returning Punk on the mic will be can't miss too.
-
Yeah, I was about to say that 5 people from ROH making it big in WWE is a number no one would've guessed.
-
I get the move in terms of wanting him to try new things and giving him more time with the mic and his character. But so far he's just become a replaceable midcarde, not someone who has grown as a wrestler. I agree with @DMJ , he should go bigger with the "sports entertainer" shtick. Just don't give a fuck and see what comes out of that.

Tony announcing there's gonna be an announcement next week Gotta be Collision. Man, Daniel GarcĂa has gotten worse since joining JAS. At this point he's just another guy in the ring, when that was supposed to be thing that compensated all the other things he lacked as a performer. Saw the last part of the main event (from Mox getting slammed on the glass, gawd damn) and if this angle doesn't lead to at least Ibushi showing up and turning the tides towards the Elite then this feud is gonna feel very underwhelming to me. I guess it will depend on what the match is for DoN and if the BCC wins so they can continue to set up Kenny getting the final W eventually.

The Nigel return rumors have started to gain some traction https://www.fightful.com/wrestling/nigel-mcguinness-files-trademark-ring-name?utm_source=TW-Fightful&utm_medium=Fightful Wrestling News&utm_campaign=dlvr.it Man, if he truly is having a comeback (for 1 or more matches) I hope he's been training for a while because All In is only three months away and that sounds like very little time to get into ring shape. Specially if he wants some sort of marquee matchup for that show.

I was going to push back on the squashes but then I remembered that the most momentum Danielson ever had in AEW after his debut was when he ran through the Dark Order before facing Hangman Page. Having said that, I'm not sure a couple of vignettes and squashes would've helped guys like Cole or White to not cool off. I also think these guys don't want quick matches on TV, they want to have quality outings, and a lot of them want to do it with newer/younger/less known talent.

Seems like they could open up the whole damn stadium with the way tickets are selling, amazing. Also, not sure how legit it is but I read that the plan is to make Rampage the "Dark/Elevation" show and tape it every Wednesday. ROH would be taped every Saturday with Collision.
