  1. It's gonna be interesting, but Bryan is such a good heel that fans might just boo him because it's fun or what they are "supposed to do" with him reaction wise. The crowd might be too smarky too cheer Roman though. But I think if they let him have another amazing match with each other, it could get the reaction they want. But what do I know, I thought the same thing when they faced at Fastlane and it didn't happen
  2. He might've changed his name but fuckery is still Mox's kryptonite
  3. Considering it's Jericho, I don't think we should take that quote so literally.
  4. 14 minutes of two dudes kicking ass. Dickinson asked for this match months ago and it seems he's been wanting to face Daisuke for years so you knew he was going to go all out on his dream match, he did not disappoint. Not a lot of story here, it's basically the two of them taking turns trying to beat the shit out of the other, with Sekimoto being more dominant and Dickinson having to find extra energy to keep up. Fucking LOVED the finishing sequence because it was incredibly intense, had the crowd going crazy and the visuals of the sweat flying off with every stiff strike were outstanding, also loved that for as intense as it was, it didn't have any excess. I was eager to watch this and I'm glad it delivered in spades.
  5. The problem with that is that it would mean tanking 2 of the 3 Budokan Hall shows because there would be no stakes in them. Budokan is way too big of a building to rely on "great matches that don't mean anything", specially when it comes to a tournament. Mox and Okada have too big of a lead in points already that them going unbeaten to the final day of their blocks would mean they would've already qualify to the Finals. Unless those shows are already sold out (or have something like 8-9k tickets already sold), I don't see Gedo doing that.
  6. I'm interested on how Gedo books the coming days for Block B because he has to have at least two matches with legit stakes for the Budokan show, and that means Mox has to start losing and one of the people that gives him that L (White and/or Goto) have to win out to have a chance on the last day. Naito could win out but for him to have a chance he needs Yano to at least get a double dq/draw out of Mox and for White and Goto to beat him too. That could lead to 3 matches at Budokan having Finals stakes, depending on how Ishii or Goto get to that final day. More "traditional" scenario would be White winning out, needing to beat Naito at Budokan and for Juice to spoil Mox so he could reach the Finals.
  7. First big shocker of the G-1 today. The plot of Block B thickens.
  8. So Smackdown is doing a house show in Nashville, they put it on the Network, called it "Smackville" and I had no fucking clue it seems I wasn't alone.
  9. From the get go I loved how they worked the DVD on the outside as a counter to one of the shittiest tope's I've ever seen (which is saying something when it comes to Moxley ). This was great, better than Mox vs Ishii to me, basically because it had a ton of shit I love, from the focused work on the leg, to the incredible selling - specially in 2019 - from Shingo, to the , the cutoffs, strikes and the drama at the end. Hell of a match!
  10. Man, I don't think people realize how fucking amazing Shingo vs Ishii is going to be. That shit has MOTY written all over it if Yokohama shows up and gives them a good atmosphere.
  11. They better book small ass buildings for all those house shows that top talent wont be working in.
  12. I've seen 2 Cobb matches and he indeed has been very disappointing in them. I'd like to think he'll get better the more tours he gets to work with this roster though. Before Elgin jumped the shark, he had a nice run in NJ which I think started in his 2nd G-1 (though I could be wrong and he surprised most of us in his first G1 in 15'?). Putting Cobb in a tag team wouldn't fix anything though, as tag teams in New Japan are basically filler for the most part. I don't think he'd learn much tbh. Shit, once they put Anderson on a tag team his singles career went to shit. PS: Speaking of Elgin, one of the most intriguing matches this year for me is him vs Sekimoto next month at Korakuen, specially this version of Sekimoto.
  13. Done.
  14. I just want Matt to watch some Strong Big Japan, I honestly feel he'd like their "modern" take on making shit matter, not every match is human chess game, but in most encounters you get little stuff that I feel he'd love.
  15. Sure, considering the schedule it made sense for Mox to have 8 points at this stage of tourney. Ishii was the only match he could've lost (on paper) imo. If he beats Naito, that would be a huge surprise though. It's gonna be cool seeing how Juice plays spoiler and is the reason for Mox to not get to the Finals, setting up a nice grudge match for the US title.
  16. I sat through last week's show and after seeing the bait and switch they did, specially after that awesome promo post-Extreme Rules, I gave up on them having any sort of plan or angle for him. They'll probably come up with something on a random Tuesday afternoon and Bryan will make it work, but I'll wait to read what's going on and then check it out on dailymotion or something. He's the only thing that keeps me watching WWE for the most part but he's just not a priority right now so fuck it.
  17. With RAW finally doing a good rating I wonder when Seth is gonna tweet Variety about "no needs for excuses" or some shit like that
  18. Fucking hilarious in so many ways
  19. An Ishii vs Roman match at Korakuen Hall would break the internet at how amazing it would be.
  20. They gotta do an Owens/Austin segment, right?
  21. Up until the last 3 minutes, this was "just" a fun Strong BJ 6 man tag. It started with Nomura working differently than the previous tag matches against Okabayashi, this time the young gawd is trying to avoid getting into a strike exchange and out smart the champion, which actually works out on his favor. But it's a quick sequence, the rest is exactly what you expect from these guys: they get paired up, beat the shit out of each other, do compelling stuff, rinse and repeat. Loved the little things like Okabayashi getting hyped the fuck up by Kamitani's fighting spirit against Sato, Abe checking on his buddy Nomura after he got fucked up by Okami, or Daichi desperately trying to break free to interfere and break pins. And THEN, the last 3 minutes happen. If you don't get fired up for Nomura vs Okabayashi after watching that final sequence then you don't have a soul. That was glorious and made a half empty Korakuen feel like it was sold out.
  22. The build up to July 21st continues holy shit at the slap exchanges at the end between Yuji and the young gawd, the ending perfectly illustrated what this feud is all about: the fiery young guy vs the BEAST that is the champion. Kamitani and Kawakami had a low key sick strike exchange too, oh my
  23. Punk is confirmed for Starcast III, Speculation about All Out about to go insane.
  24. But there is no Bischoff regime it's not being reported that he has no imput on creative. It seems Ward is back to being the head of SD pitching stuff to Vince. From another site quoting (supposedly) WON I think it's for the better tbh.
  25. Yup, that was as awkward and "meh" as expected. Can we get to D-Bry's promo soon please?
