I think the bigger question is that if things go poorly how long does a guy like Ari Emmanuel, notoriously a cutthroat kind of guy, put up with mediocrity and this Vince. I wonder if he set it up to sinecure Vince if he runs things poorly.

Yeah thing is unless they put reigns on the shelf it's meaningless. Cody has been neutered. WWE has no sense of timing. I think back to why I don't really watch anymore and this is a big part of the reason. Reigns is amazing and story has been great but the fact they can never pay it off leaves a sour taste.

That sounds like that is real issue here. Cornette has outlined on his podcast many times about the issues he ran into when he was a front office employee (not a contractor)and went to take a bump on i think a house show or something because someone wasn’t there. HR apparently made a huge issue out of it and it was bad enough that Corny requested his contract status be switched back to contractor. I can only imagine if they freaked out over a bump on a WWE house show that they wouldn’t be remotely cool with hardcore reunion show.

To take a step in TK's case this feels a little, key word a little, like Craig Kline situation at Fulham. Kline was clearly off the plot but a lot of the lack of communication and unnecessary confrontations feel vaguely similar like we don't know whose in charge, a lot of cliqs with a lot of ideas, and TK not taking charge. More and more I feel like this is really a reflection on TK being in over his head and not putting a strong leadership figure in place to deal with these situations. Now the good news is TK has learned over time and they've had progressively better hires but man it was unpleasant getting there. As far as the situation at moment for me I've been interested in what Punk has been doing with MJF etc and I am just not with the Elite or Jericho so Punk leaving would be a negative.

A key thing to note too is that No Mercy is essentially a sequel of Revenge albeit with WWF instead of WCW ( who had signed with EA and then made a rip off in Mayhem). The value of the game is that really deep but also really easy to pickup and play. You can have some who's never played the game grab the controls and have fun right off the bat (especially in Rumble mode) Basically the timeline goes Virtual Pro Wrestling (JP) PS1 (WCW vs the World in the US with minimal changes) N64 WCW/NWO World Tour- revised gameplay, Royal Rumble, Virtual Pro Wrestling 64 (JP), same look as World Tour but bigger roster and costume swap WCW/NWO Revenge- upgraded graphics and features from VPW Wrestlemania 2000- Similar in a lot of ways but added a full story mode, cage matches and full Create a Wrestler/ Removes the MMA combo mode Virtual Pro Wrestling 2- Similar to WM2K but with an AJPW License, more Japanese and legends themed roster (NJPW, PRIDE, M-Pro, and others need costume swap to get them correct). Expand create a belt, removes Cage matches but add MMA style matches with point systems. This add running grapple and MMA style takedowns and mounts. Builds out the Create a wrestler with masks and unlockable extra moves. Arguably the best game in Series for a hardcore fan. No Mercy- Loses MMA style, combos, create a belt. Add ladder matches and branching story mode. CAW gains moves, ability to create female wrestlers, looks but loses masks. Gameplay is a little different too as submissions are kinda nerfed Graphic are also upgraded. Carts of this are notoriously Buggy and prone to failure Post this the engine would be used in the Def Jam Vendetta games and I believe MUSCLE (could be wrong) It's a great and honestly I would pick AEW up immediately if it was close.

Oh God yes. The WWE should have done this years ago. They could stagger the off-season between brands with like Raw taking September, SmackDown December, and NXT May. This way you can book with a beginning and a climax. Season finale for Raw would be SummerSlam, Smackdown survivor series, and NXT backlash. This allows you to avoid MNF for Raw, Christmas for Smackdown, and NXT gets the left overs. In between the other brands can do takeovers and/or run a tournament like KOR that can be a separate thing. This way you give wrestlers time off and more importantly give the booking teams time to recharge while letting the other brands get extra time to build out angles and such.

I loved an explanation Nick Bockwinkel gave about the size difference, in regards to Rey Jr. It was something to effect of it hurts like hell to get hit with a sledgehammer but getting hit with a claw hammer still hurts and if they're quick enough to hit you 5-10 times then it's just as bad. Yeah I think if I could pinpoint a time when it started to get really noticeably bad it would be Booker T in 03 where his tag team with Goldust was way more over than they wanted it to be and while he got a title shot at Wrestlemania 19 they did everything they could to make it a non event.

This.... a million times this. They can't just take found money when it comes to them. It reminds in a way of the last days of WCW where when some midcard act gets themselves over even with something goofy (Jericho and Chavo in 98, WTR in 99, etc) they would at best ignore it and at worst outright sabotage it. And it really sucks the life out of a promotion's fans. It's just not fun to root for anyone.

It seems so odd that Shane would try as 52 year who looks in his 50s to do this. At least you figure if he was going to attempt this he would try to get on the gas and color his hair. That said I wonder if this is a bigger sign that Vince is trying to sell the company and Shane figures well if you're going to do that I might as well get a world title reign on the way out (maybe because Vince and Steph both got one).
