Yeah it definitely was not a “normal” reaction and I got the vibe of like something’s off here. I think you might be on the right track though. My guess would be that everyone in the company knew that Vince had girlfriends/hook ups on the payroll but didn’t know the extent of horrific shit he was pulling. Most probably felt that while not ethical or right they were consenting adults, the Mcmahons were separated, and it’s Vince’s company. I sure that’s the way a guy like Emmanuel saw things and why it didn’t flag. Vince was also probably careful who he shared that side of him with initially. So far it’s inner circle guys, like Dunn and Ace, or those who wouldn’t be bothered by those things, like Hayes. Vince probably was sharp enough to not to pull that shit in front of people would be have a problem with it (Steph or say Foley). Also he probably wouldn’t have shared it with people that could have used it as a leverage (like a Cornette or Heyman). The key point I think of is from the JJ Dillon/Cornette shoot where JJ talks about being sick of Vince’s lifestyle(even sans the creepy shit) and Vince is like “Oh you don’t like Vince anymore” JJ wasn’t going to drop the dime on Vince, Cornette would have. As his facilities have declined he’s gotten less and less careful and the veil came off.

TBF watching that the clip the crowd were already chanting it and it came off more like “fine get it out of your system” rather “I’m honoring my father.” Not a great look to be sure either way but it wasn’t enthusiastic. My guess is she knew enough to be horrified but probably wasn’t willing to turn in her own father. But this is going to be bad and get worse. FBI will probably use roll up tactics to get all of the underlings to flip to bring McMahon down.

Yeah this is kind of the argument against Reigns/Rock at WM. WM is already sold out, you don’t need this match to fill the stadium. It’s probably better served on a show where it could be used to fill a stadium like Summerslam or something similar

Some of attitude era stuff was fine that was sign of the times and a reaction to the hyper colorful rock n wrestling and new generation era. But then it just stayed kinda dreary and colorful was laughed at. Look at Cena being colorful he got laughed, see the bowl of fruity pebbles line.

It’s kinda everywhere in sports in general. On one of the sports uni (kit) sites I follow the term is (Black for blacks sake). Basically it’s about teams that wouldn’t normally wear black adding it to make them look tough. That said it seems like it’s a thing here.

I still think the logical way to go is acknowledge that the Rocks bloodline is noble and therefore he outranks Roman so the rest of the bloodline listens to the Rock. At Wrestlemania it’s simple then; when Sikoa and Uso go to interfere the Rocks music and he simply orders them to the back, with the comment like “the chief has to do it on his own.” And now stripped of his minions in a fair fight Cody wins clean. Follow up is Roman loses to the Rock in a one on one at summerslam and Heyman and the rest of the bloodline abandon him. Heyman goes with Punk as he gets the belt off Cody and Roman begins a redemption arc culminating with him beating the Rock at the next WM.

not to mention the transfer window is open in England and Fulham still can’t get a striker worth a damn.
-
Not to mention Fulham sitting 10th in the premier league despite losing their best striker and their best player potentially on the block to Bayern. AEW can’t always be the top priority. TK needs to focus one and get a booker to handle the other.

WWE Survivor Series - War Games - 11/24 - What Do You See?

He was also Governor of California for 8 years so he had some practical experience especially in a large populated state. It would have been more like if Ventura ran successful since he had been a governor prior. Johnson if he was serious would be better off taking an elect position at the state or national level first. -

I dunno if you’re doing Rock vs Roman that isn’t the story something like this; Rock returns and asserts because he is of Royal Samoan blood that he is the High Chief and outranks Roman. At RR Cody defends against Roman. When the bloodline shenanigans starts Rock comes out and orders the BL to the back so Roman can be a man and do it himself pulling rank and they listen. Roman drops the belt to Cody who can wrestle I dunno Punk or Orton at Mania. Roman challenges the Rock at WM for High chief and loses with Bloodline and Heyman abandoning him (Punk maybe). Alone and defeat maybe Jey and Sammy have time for him and he transitions to a Face winning the rematch at Summerslam over the Rock ending with a handshake. That seems doable and wouldn’t involve the Rock jobbing at Mania -

Yeah and for Punk this is a “new” regime with the final call going to Emmanuel. So he can probably square working with Hunter because of that. -
Certainly doesn’t hurt that he grew adjacent to the Von Erich’s and probably interacted with them at times.
-
Or it could be once he realized that the promises only meant a sinecure with no real authority that he decided to cash out knowing that at worst he gets paid and at best a founder selling out could destabilize the stock price.
-
Yeah there are few bigger cutthroats than Emanuel in show business, I mean multiple TV shows have parodied him. Vince, even when not in the seemingly diminished mental state, has struggled outside of his wrestling bubble. So it doesn’t surprise me that a guy like Emmanuel would blow smoke up Vinces ass and then turn around cut him out making the job a sinecure essentially. I just wonder if he lowered the boom or was able to sweet talk Vince into letting it happen.

Yeah heel Hogan was initially good. It was so refreshing NWO was over. The work rate was lousy and Hogan didn’t help himself by wrestling like a cowardly Memphis heel instead of like a monster that his size and track record dictates. But the Piper feud was quite good. The issues, which are well known is that it started today in 97 with Sting thing being dragged out way too long trying to make Starrcade into WM. I still think if they blew the Sting off at the Bash with him taking the title off and transitioning into the Wolfpack vs rest of NWO for the fall would have kept it fresh. But they dragged it out and it got staler and staler. So 96 into early 97 was good and it went downhill from there.

Yeah TK needs to get a booker and step away for a bit. Go find Fulham a proper striker and defensive mid I'm begging you.

This was great, really enjoyed it (although you did butcher the pronunciation of Poughkeepsie lol). One thing about the Allentown/Hamburg tapes I didn’t realize until I moved to NJ is that you can take Holland tunnel from Manhattan and you can take a single highway, I-78 all the way to Hamburg/Allentown. It’s only 2hrs from MSG and an easy drive so it’s really understandable why the talent was so pissed.

Couldn't he use the Spanish spelling of Misterio? Rey Sr. and Rey did until he got to WCW.
-
Also he still has the belt or a version of the belt he never lost…. That’s a pretty nice carrot. He can job to Roman or more likely be a stepping stone for Cody at some point.

Interesting list. Couple of things * I think its the latter with Gorilla. He had a lifetime contract and my guess that if hes running the show he probably didn’t really want to be handling the commentary as well. As you mentioned he already had a heart attack and wasn’t in the best of health so probably one of those cases where they wanted to cut his schedule for his sake. By multiple accounts he was beloved as basically a grandpa by the production team so you could see them snd Vince wanting to look out for him. I mean Gorilla still was doing commentary until literally the end of his life so I don’t think it was a quality concern. * Boy Jesse was basically the Tony Romo of the WWE. He just showed up and within a few months basically changed the commentary game. * Dick Graham, who did he have dirt on at PRISM? I mean it wasn’t like he was associated with the Phillies, Sixers, or Flyers. I always figured he was doing it as a part time gig like Ed Whalen in Calgary. Kal at least a respectable career in radio and this was clearly a lark for him. Its just odd. * Always wish we could have seen heel Lord Al on color. Really enjoy his heel promos when they pop up. * Wish we got more Bockwinkel as he and Monsoon were excellent together. Do you have a list for the Copps Coliseum/MLG shows?

Probably remembers RVD as that nutty gaijin from his AJPW days... Still I just prefer to think of him like Andrea Pirlo simply not impressed.
-
So Kawada is basically the Pirlo of wrestling....

Punk earned being fired, never said he didn't. My only comment was that it wouldn't surprise if he went after them in court. I think it could have been avoided if both parties behaved better. Based on the situation it's probably going to get worse As far Perry goes he did instigate the incident on camera (this isn't 2000 wcw where we are making up worked shoots). If he doesn't go off on Punk on camera this doesn't happen. He put the company in this situation and there should be consequences. Therefore if Punk goes he should go as well for inciting the incident(it will also diffuse Punks argument in court). If they want him back pull a Finlay and hire him back in a year.
-
Yeah if you are management (and they have titles and claim to be) and you want to have a resolution to the situation, the last thing you do is run into the locker room with HR and talent relations. What was the plan here? Chew them out? Threaten them? Especially when a pro athlete is coming off an adrenaline high and you're already aware he's not in a good place. What should have been done is have the conversation the next day when everyone has calmed down. Chew Punk out then, not when there's a gaggle of media around to exacerbate the situation. Handle it like adults not like children. AEW HR, whose job it is to understand this, definitely should have known how better to handle this. Again Punks response was terrible but how the Elite has handled themselves, especially since they are "management" is atrocious. Maybe you get a better response from Punk maybe not but it would have avoided the fight. Honestly TK should fire Perry and I would bury the Bucks for the victory lap stunt. Cut the feud with FTR off and job them out and/or confine them to Rampage. They're pretty cold and stale as a tag team so it's not like you're losing much. See if they handle the demotion like men and if not let them go when the contract is up.
-
Yeah this is important. The rant would have meant nothing if the Elite didn't storm into Punks locker room like children on a power trip. Thats why people are backing up Punk. His behavior is wrong and fireable, but it is all reactionary. Elite or one of their Clique start shit and Punk overreacts. One who reacted is fired, the other, who caused or was involved each one of these situations, gets to take a victory lap literally. It doesn't seem right in that way. Punk maybe a jackass but the Elite aren't far behind.
