  2. I did get the Keller ratings. I always accept large lists of match ratings! Where should I look?
  3. Which 10 were better and could've taken his place during that era? And for people asking for examples of Taue matches without Kawada, Misawa or Kobashi... + 11/25/90 - Tsuruta/Taue vs. Williams/Gordy (AJPW) + 10/7/92 - Tsuruta/Taue vs. Willams/Gordy (AJPW) + 8/22/92 - Tsuruta/Taue vs. Williams/Gordy (AJPW) + 11/27/92 - Taue/Akiyama vs. Williams/Gordy (AJPW) + 4/20/96 - Taue vs. Williams (AJPW) + 10/21/97 - Taue vs. Ace (AJPW) + 6/6/03 - Nagata vs. Taue (NOAH)
  4. FWIW - (x-posted from WON): For those interested in some more "wrestlenomics" about the #wonhof 2014 ballot: I put together a look at five different metrics: http://indeedwrestling.blogspot.com/2014/09/wrestlenomics-for-won-hall-of-fame.html (Link above is the summary.) Here are the individual datasets: 1. Days as champions for major belts (specifically starting in 1984-2014) 2. Four star+ matches 3. Total PPV Main Events for U.S. 4. Total 10,000+ crowds for Japan (75% complete for wrestler attribution) 5. Wrestler of the Year and Match of the Year tallies This doesn't necessarily take into account drawing ability or even working ability, but I think suggests some interesting comparisons among candidates.
  5. I started on this last night. What a first fall! Schmidt reminds me of Cesaro for some reason. Really digging the whole thing.
  6. Don't forgot that if you significantly change your legacy, you can go back on the ballot. That was part of the discussion with Sting because it was argued that his TNA-stint was a meaningful contribution to his legacy.
  7. Yes, I do know that idea had been discussed because I've brought it up during our countdown podcasts before. Of course, since different sets have different "depth", they might not be an equal amount of quality footage from each group - likewise if it's spit by year. Cheap Plug, if anyone wants to see those "Best of the 1980s" results, they're all on my website. Best of 1980s Men's Other Japan Best of 1980s Midsouth Best of 1980s Memphis Best of 1980s New Japan Best of 1980s Texas Best of 1980s All Japan Best of 1980s AWA
  8. Slaughter is back on the ballot. There's lots of guys who have been brought back already. This year's ballot includes these wrestlers: Sting (first dropped in 1998) Gene & Ole Anderson (first dropped in 2002) Pepper Gomez (first dropped in 2004) Pedro Morales (first dropped in 2002) Curt Hennig (first dropped in 1998) Ken Patera (first dropped in 1998) Sting (first dropped in 1998) Jun Akiyama (first dropped in 2008) Gran Hamada (first dropped in 2004) Yuji Nagata (first dropped in 2003) Mike & Ben Sharpe (first dropped in 2004) Akira Taue (first dropped in 1998) Cien Caras (first dropped in 2001) Hector Garza (first dropped in 2008) Blue Panther (first dropped in 1998) Giant Haystacks (first dropped in 2010) Mark Lewin (first dropped in 1998) Sgt Slaughter (first dropped in 1999) Dr Wagner Jr (first dropped in 2004) LA Park (first dropped in 2004 as "Original La Parka") (Any others that I missed?)
  9. I'll do some digging tonight and see if I have any of these HOF issues. A friend loaned me a box that was his Torch/WON archives from 1996-2001 and I've been organizing them slowly.
  10. 11. Had a good time recording this episode today! I hope people will check it out. Also, if you haven't already, be sure to check out the F4W episode with Kevin Kleinrock from this week which also covers some great stuff ( http://www.f4wonline.com/component/content/article/38748-sep-2-figure-four-daily-kevin-kleinrock-talks-masked-mania-ppv-el-rey-lucha-underground-series-urban-wrestling-tons-more ) about contract restrictions in Lucha Undergrround. 12. New Epsiode of Wrestlenomics has been posted: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/indeedwrestling/2014/09/06/wrestlenomics-radio--legal-chatter-galore I bring on two attorneys to talk WWE legal issues including CM Punk royalties letter, Rey Mysterio injury contract extension, ADR & Brock Lesnar non-compete, Jesse Ventura announcing lawsuit, Raven's independent contractor lawsuits, WWE Shareholder lawsuits and and El Ray's "Lucha Underground" issues. It's a fun show talking about lots of different legal angles.
  13. I think it's worth noting that the awards are voted on so it's not just Dave's pick. For additional context, here's the runner-ups each year. 14. Two new pieces which are related to one another: 9/2/2014: Examining the Keys to Successfully Repackaging WWE Superstars 9/3/2014: 5 WWE Superstars Who need to be Repackaged Immediately I can save you the clicks. The three important elements: youth, talent, programming. My five suggestions: Emma, Justin Gabriel, Zack Ryder and Big E. I also pitch Christian as a new manager.
  15. So, I think that's the fourth (??) lawsuit. There's Robbins Arroyo LLP class action lawsuit (filed 7/25/14). You can read the whole complaint (with the specific quotes that they're going after) here: http://www.classactionsnews.com/sites/default/files/wwe_complaint.pdf Also Law Offices of Vincent Wong who filed a class action lawsuit who announced the lawsuit on 8/20/14. And Alfred G. Yates which filed on 8/25/14.
  16. I wrote a tome as the follow-up to Monday's piece: 8/29/2014: Breaking Down what WWE must do to Improve WWE Network adoption rates
  17. 8/25/14: Evaluating the Strategy of the WWE Network roll-out thus far
  18. Today's piece was deceptively straight-forward. 8/22/14: Analyzing Brock Lesnar and WWE's History of Young Champions Disclaimer: I don't really analyze Brock Lesnar. However, I did a ton of work to try and look at young champions. This included pulling birthdays for 900+ wrestlers, looking at 20 years of wrestling results, and trying to figure out how WWE magically keeps their roster always in that 32-33 sweet spot. You can get a taste of what I calculated over at: https://sites.google.com/site/chrisharrington/avg_age_wwe_1993_2014
  19. Great show with Loss talking about his e-book, 90s wrestling and then Bix joins me to talk SummerSlam and more! http://placetobenation.com/wrestlenomics-radio-loss-from-pwo-summerslam-and-the-wwe-network-gone-global/
