  1. For episode 2 we are going to do that. For the newer stuff, I don't as I assume youtube would pull it. Thanks for the input
  2. I've started a bi-weekly podcast called "Wrestling with a Generation Gap". I've taken two younger friends who are lifelong wrestling fans but who have never seen ANY non WWF pre 1996 footage and every week we watch a one hour sampler of a territory. Starting with episode 3 the show is longer as we added them showing me newer wrestling matches. First episode covers 1979 Knoxville and the second dives into San Francisco territory. There are two more recorded, and one think I toned down was the amount of talking I do, and how insufferable I sound, like a know it all. But in either case, I'm not sure what to do with these. I'm not sure if they are good enough for wider distribution, so I put them up on youtube and would really appreciate some PWO feedback. Thanks And here's the link to the SF one hour sampler I put together if you want to watch along with us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3iCEfn17kM&t=1296s
  3. That's a cool find but............is that legal? Putting stuff up on amazon prime and charging for it? Or was it put up by whoever the heck owns the rights to the Memphis footage?
  4. Much like Obama's farewell address, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to listen to this episode. Once I do I have to accept it's over.
  5. That's a good point. I do want to include SOME of that feud because they think edgy angles began with Raven in ECW and attitude era WWF. I definitely want to show them otherwise. I've found everything suggested online except the Dusty Rhodes promo on Sonny King. I love the Dusty promo on Ron Bass but he should not have been wearing a hat. You need to better see his eyes there.
  6. I'm also thinking of throwing in Brody-Luger cage just for a gag
  7. Thanks Pete. Yeah I think the show is a good idea. They have also started showing me newer footage (I stopped watching new wrestling ten years ago) with Okada-Omega and then Final Deletion 1. The name of the show suggest the idea "Wrestling with a Generation Gap". I too was scared about the show turning into an hour of just Dusty. Are there any Eddie Graham matches out there worth seeing?
  8. So I'm doing a wrestling podcast with some friends (4 episodes recorded, editing is slow paced) that introduces old school territories/angles to a newer generation of fans. For an upcoming episode, one of them picked Florida. What I usually do is prepare a one hour selection of footage I can find online as a sort of "sampler" of the territory. Now the early episodes have been places where there's not THAT much stuff online but for Florida whittling it down to just one hour of footage has proven a real challenge. (Heaven help me when we get to Mid South, Crockett, AWA and WCCW). Asking everyone here to offer me some suggestions. What are some "must haves" for one hour showing Florida. I want to include as many of the major talents as possible. Era I am covering should stop somewhere around when Crockett gained control
  9. This was actually the first WCW thing I ever saw live as we got cable that week. I crowed to my neighbor/friend about how serious his WCW was and how cartoonish my WWF ways for quite some time afterwards.
  10. I've never seen the 1978 Funks vs Sheik and Abdullah. Seen the 77 one and two 79 ones though That's my most wanted match right now.
  11. Yeah they definitely were made to look lucky to escape with the titles. Vince really killed them off with that feud. The Natural Disasters feud was a horrid mistake but given their complaining and wanting to go to Japan from early 91 on according to Observers at the time, I'm thinking it might not have been a mistake, it might have been deliberate payback for being difficult.
  12. So why were Slaughter-Duggan not given the title shot? Were the Natural Disasters considered such huge stars that they just HAD to get them on Wrestlemania even if that meant a face turn? Or was the face turn just a spur of the moment Vince thing?
  13. Does the 6/83 match exist? All I can find is about 3 minutes of highlights.
  14. I'm a little nervous about this because one of them is a "moves" guy who considers the variety of your offense a big part of how good you are as a wrestler. I hope he can see how Lawler can tell such great stories with far fewer moves.
  15. The injured eye one is 12/30/85 right? Is the build up to the earlier one online?
  16. I am putting together a one hour of comp of Lawler to show some younger fans who are friends of mine. We're doing a wrestling generation gap podcast, and they see Lawler as only the puppies guy who had decent comeback matches on Raw this last decade. It should be around an hour long. What are the must see Jerry Lawler matches I should include? Dates would be helpful. Thanks so much
  17. It is a sad day here at PWO but all good things must come to an end. With the number of episodes dropping, one could sense the end was coming. Covering 1983 in one podcast, it's going to be a LONG pod lol.
  18. I can't see to find the Diesel theme that opens with that line actually. Anyone have a link or a match that started with it they know of?
  19. Didn't at one point during his run WWF lose the rights to Jive Soul Bro? That might explain why in 91 Slick's guys had no music and almost never entrances either, usually their squash matches started with them already in the ring, though I have seen exceptions.
  20. Would including JFK's generation line be considered bad taste?
  21. Me too. Thanks Parv. This has been a rough ten months in my life actually but Titans, WTBBP and LFK have really helped me through a rough patch in my life. You will be missed. Also that Hogan-Savage match was an interesting thing. In order to boost house show sales, they sent Hogan-Savage in 87 around the loop to the smaller towns, drawing huge houses for them since Hogan didn't work the B and C towns all that often. History of the Heavyweight Championship is one of the few Coliseum Videos I don't own and have never seen a physical copy (along with Women of the WWF) or digital copy for that matter. The Texas Death match with Hogan is one of the oddest things ever. The WWF's Even More Unusual Matches Coliseum video put BOTH the Boston and MSG versions of the match on the tape, back to back. This would be fine except the two matches are virtually identical, move for more and spot for spot. It's virtually impossible to believe in kayfabe as a kid after you've seen that.
  22. I can only think the PWO experts can help me here. Can anyone think of any promos, interviews etc in wrestling history where the wrestler uses the word "Generation". This is the intro to a podcast I am working on, have recorded two episodes but need an opener. Title is "The Wrestling Generation Gap" so I figured that would be an appropriate starter. Want to avoid the phrase DeGeneration X except maybe once. Dates are helpful of course if any of you can think of an example
  23. I'm trying to put together a 1 hour compilation for a comedy podcast of the worst squash matches in wrestling history. Whether it's the fault of the jobber or even the star, I want to include the worst of the worst. Anyone have any candidates?
  24. Anyone have a link to Cornette's goodbye to the Heavenly Bodies SMW promo? That's one of the greatest I've ever heard.
