I hate to say it but the women will struggle to follow that.

Women on last Matty D. Finger on the pulse.

Hasn't Owens vs Shane already happened? It feels like they've been feuding for 3 years already.

Torrie Wilson is unreal. As in, she cannot be real. She hasn't aged a day since she turned like 25 years old. I popped for her and Kelly and Maryse's Music and Michelle McCool my sun and stars and the GOAT. A nice little preview for you all of the immiment Divas Invasion. To be honest all the women looked great. Even like Terri Runnels and Jackie must be getting on now, but they looked much the same.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
Jimmy Redman replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
It gets better. -
I think the difference in emotional attachment is simply that they aren't leaning as heavily on emotional angles as they did during CWC. There's no best friends/tag partners facing off and nearly killing each other just to make the second round and then collapsing in each others arms. There's no well-travelled veteran who went from being homeless to working all around the world to slowly picking up unlikely wins to actually winning the whole thing. There's no grizzled vet who fucked up their chance with WWE and has one last chance to redeem themselves and leave a legacy before they fade into obscurity, who has their trainer and mentor openly rooting and weeping for them on commentary like their life was dependent on the result. This isn't that. The profiles for this are surface level and introductory, they're not going any deeper into their stories to make you care on that level. And they're not giving them the time to have standing O five star matches, which is the only other thing that would do it. Commentary is less excitable and more clinical. None of it is designed to be emotional on the level of the CWC.

I always got the feel that Ziggler was quite decent as opposed to great or even very good. What did you find to be his peak? He was good around 2010-2013. Good run with Vickie in tow, good run with the IC Title. Good team with Swagger. Great matches over the years with Kofi, Orton, Sheamus, Cena, Bryan, Alberto, Cesaro, Rey, etc. By the end of 2012 he flirted with the main event with the Cena feud, and when he cashed in MITB it was HUGE. The double turn with Alberto was great. Even in the last few years, that SS match, the Miz feud, wasn't there a ladder match with Harper? All good stuff. I think it's unfair to suggest he was never good. But he's been pedestrian and really served no purpose for a long time.

It's tricky with Dolph. As a heel he was good, and that's what got him support and smark cheers. But then when they turned him babyface, he was terrible at it and started his downward spiral. So like what do you do with a heel who can't work face who people want to cheer.
-
He was a good worker back in the day. And he wasn't getting pushed to match how over he was. It's just that he slowly became quite terrible since then, and some people are stuck in 2012.

Not so much the promo itself, but I thought Roman challenging Cena to step to him and Cena backing off made him look super weak, and uncharacteristically so, since Cena is ALWAYS the one to be all "well smart guy let's settle this like men right here, right now!!" and never backs down from a fight. That part seemed super weird to me. Maybe they felt like Roman had to punk out Cena after last week. I thought Roman's best line was the dick joke, but they ruined it by talking over it straight away. The bits about "why did it take you so long to beat a jobber?" were stupid, and could have easily been dealt with by Cena saying well, Jason Jordan is a great wrestler and that's how long it takes. Instead they implied he was carrying him like Mayweather carried Conor, which made no sense watching the match since Jordan held his own with Cena.

Like seriously what in the FUCK. Nothing has made me want to just throw my hands up and say fuck WWE more than this. It is my favourite theme song. All that bullshit about "she started the women's revolution" *snicker* seems really mean spirited and personal, which is bullshit because the Paige vs Emma final literally was like the first match in the women's revolution.

Exploiting the situation by doing shoot interviews on telly about a REALLY REAL SHOOT armbar in a fake wrestling match is Vintage GFW. BUT, Rosemary is amazing and they really should be building the company around her anyway.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Jimmy Redman replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
I often get that feeling when the girls are doing work and the crowd takes a piss break or chants "WE WANT PUPPIES!" -
I've seen a Barrett interview where he says they were going over until it got changed the arvo of the show. Cena also talked about it on the Jericho pod, from memory. Like the guy on the last page said he seems to have only realised in hindsight it was the wrong call.

YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH! I lose it every week and yet I lost it more than ever at the belt bit. Holy shit. Frankly they need to do this forever.

Well again, Hunter was supposed to be a heel and was saying cool shoot shit trying to get face pops.
-
I think another key difference between Cena shoots and Hunter shoots is that he directs them at better targets. Hunter was the top heel and he would say cool shoot comments burying babyface who were over and on the way up - guys like Bryan, Punk, RVD, Cena in 2006, etc. Those comments hurt because they were designed to make Hunter look cool and the babyface look stupid, which is counterproductive. You don't WANT to hear Hunter calling someone like Bryan a tiny geek. Cena, at least, is ostensibly the babyface and is usually saying this hardcore shit to the heels who are trying to attack his character already, like Miz, or a guy like Rock who is bulletproof. That at least makes more sense and gets the right reaction from the crowd. Even doing it to Roman, I mean technically he's still a face I guess but he is hated and they stopped pretending he's not hated a while ago. They knew the crowd would eat it up, hearing Cena say all the things they already believe about him. They got the desired reaction. For the first time in like, years, Cena has a feud where he will actually, really be the babyface to the crowd.

These are the same people who did Cena/Batista on the Summerslam undercard out of nowhere.
-
Probably their match at Wrestlemania for the US title. Seriously guys. It's on Smackdown 27.2.09.
-
I'm going through them now and I feel this is demonstrably false, at least in terms of PPV matches.

I'm in shock. I am going to assume you made up that rating to smear Dave's name. Any fans of the match willing to defend it? I had reviewed it in the MDA a while ago and gave it 1.5*. Didn't get the hype at all. It's a genuinely great match and you and Dave are quite insane. Is my defence.
