Okay, I'm back. About Barrabas, he was one of the original Capitol Sports Promotion wrestlers when the promotion started up in the 70's. He was a masked tecnico called El Rayo de Bayamon. The story goes that he ended up turning on Miguel Perez Sr. during a tag match. This was basically the first big turn by a wrestler in Capitol Sports. In an interview addressing the incident, Perez angrily said "You are nothing but a Barrabas". He probable meant a Judas, but instead said Barrabas. El Rayo ran with it, naming himself El Rayo Barrabas, which eventually got shortened to Barrabas. He basically became the first notable heel manager in Capitol Sports, adopting Shag Thomas as his first charge. Barrabas would first lose the mask, and then lose his hair in his feud with Perez. This would lead to his trademark bald, sideburns and beard look.
Barrabas would leave Capitol Sports for a long period of time (due to apparent legal issues), and would work on the PR indie scene during that time. He would return as a manager/wrestler in the early 80's. He would end up taking along sabbatical from wrestling from the mid-80's to about early 91 due to injuries suffered in the Dupont Plaza tragedy. Since then he has remained active in on and off spurts with different companies locally.
Here's a clip of Barrabas in action in 1977:
