He was clearly dressed up for the all important shooting of Rhodes to the Top, has to set an example for his newly born daughter #DoTheWork
-
He is sitting here comparing himself to Woody from Toy Story; he is clearly doing this on purpose.

TK has also been taking direct shots at WWE, something he consciously avoided doing for the first two years. I dunno if he feels like WWE has upped the ante and that has pissed him off, or if he has become a true wrestling promoter and is snorting coke 5 times a day.

Do you also hold your pad strategically so it looks like you're covering what you've written but conveniently all the important details are visible to the eye.

WWE TV 10/11 - 10/17 All Is Not Well in the House of Riddle
MoS replied to NintendoLogic's topic in WWE
People, both fans and wrestlers, are fighting over shoes, and like, this is so beyond my understanding, I don't even want to try and figure it out. I keep hearing about sneaker culture, but I am totally uninformed on the topic, but it seems to me like Dynamite being pre-empted from its usual mid-week slot got people really bored cuz there was nothing to talk/argue/discuss, and they just wanted to fight over something lol Also, potshots at opposing wrestlers and promotions are good and fun and one of the enjoyable parts of being in a wrestling war. They can be lame and unfunny but they are never problematic or something to avoid. Dorks who complain about it are weird imo. It's the best time to be a wrestling fan in 20 years, why do we care about wrestlers insulting each other. -
Kerry was so bad in all the World Class footage I have watched. He barely had any good offence, whenever he bumped it looked like shit, and his idea of babyface fire would be running around like a headless chicken. The Flair matches are very good but that's Flair basically wrestling himself. Credit to him, he was over like a million bucks and the matches wouldn't have worked without that, but as a worker, he was just so bad. None of the Von Erichs were very good imo in the footage I watched, but Fritz had the best look and presence despite being older. I need to check out his Texas Death match with Baba.

Also, there's no way someone took a photo of his from that close without him realizing that they could see what he was up to. I firmly believe Coach Tony K worked this leak to hype the PPV

I don't follow American football, but from everything I have heard about the Jags, if I were connected to them, I would be (fantasy) booking wrestling instead of watching them too.

Didn't Shawn use the Heart Punch as a finisher for a little while, as a pun on his nickname? Or was it Taker?

What a time we are all living in. Legitimately the best time to be a wrestling fan this century.

How do we even compare GCW and PWG in terms of who the bigger promotion is, given PWG runs fewer shows and never stream them?

I don't plan on ranking Sabu, but I would say the answer probably is because Sabu and ECW would mostly do chaotic out-of-control fights which were very much marketed that way; where the sloppiness was not just acceptable but probably needed to be a part of it. I don't think the DK-TM matches were ever sold or hyped that way: I could be wrong, but they were sold like amazing high-flying technical marvels, where precision and smoothness becomes more important. I guess another reason would be that few Sabu defenders would consider ranking him in their top 100 GWE while most DK fans will probably want to rank him very high.
-
I don't think the Dynamite backlash was as much about the workrate/MOVEZ criticism as much as it was about his sloppy execution in the TM matches. He and Tiger Mask were so fast, so wiry, that they would end up missing half their moves. In that respect, while DK is certainly influential, I am not sure how his work would look next to modern wrestlers like Rey Fenix, who try crazy moves and actually hit them. I prefer the Bulldog tags to his junior heavyweight work, but I have always appreciated how grumpy and pissed off he would look even missing moves. He had a lot of personality and that always helps.

Lol the wrestling fan in me sometimes still have to rub my eyes at the sight of Christian, famously average size for WWF, towering over everyone here. I have a feeling that those of you who don't like the Elite too much will be pleasantly surprised with Hangman. Even at the beginning, when Hangman was failing to get over as part of the faction, it was striking how differently he carried himself compared to the rest, although I wish he would give up his shitty moonsault that never looks good and is certainly fucking up his knees. He is also certainly not someone who can be accused of being too nudge nudge wink wink, taking the piss out of wrestling performer. The entire reason he got over is because there is probably a lot of truth to his character.

I love Steveson (as a wrestler) but he has shown no indication that he has a bigger personality than Angle. His interviews and on-camera appearances point to the opposite. I don't think that's a bad thing though. As mentioned, Angle's blessing and curse was that he had so much personality and charisma and was so good at WWF Sports Entertainment.

Last match was good. Hope Starks is okay, he seemed genuinely knocked out. He should be the guy who dethrones Sammy Guevara as champ, he is ready.

Lucha Bros v. Acclaimed really overdelivered as a fun spotfest. Fenix is absolutely incredible.
-
Thought Punk v. Garcia was the best match Punk has had since his return. Garcia is the real deal. Count me in as not feeling Rush's new gimmick either. That entire segment reminded me so much of bad scripted WWE segments, not good.

Catching up on this now. The crowd seems much hotter than the NYC crowd was, which helps a lot. I know they really want Rampage to be an A show, but the tired crowd makes it tough.

I honestly hope it's a sign of Henry being extremely non-confrontational and just going along with what Bully was saying. Henry never expresses an opinion of his own ever. He was also someone I thought had stood up to backstage people, although that was for racism and not run-of-the-mill bullying. As for his eye for talent, Braun Strowman was over lol like mega bucks before they made him tag team champions with an actual child. He has also scouted Bianca Belair and a lot of excellent African-American talents for WWE, something I am sure Tony Khan wants him to do for AEW. If he believes this shit he says, then not a good look at all, yeah. AEW's biggest strength is its locker room. Every wrestler who comes from WWE to AEW say they are blown away by how nice and friendly everyone is backstage, how there is a real sense of fraternity. There's absolutely no way that should be ever compromised. We don't need dumbass hazers who are insecure about their own talents and positions and who bully and mock others to feel better about themselves. We don't need dumb old-timers enabling that shit either. I think Joey Styles sucks as a commentator and a person, but he will forever have my respect for knocking out Bradshaw cold with one punch.

It's a bit difficult to call Jorge Masvidal an MMA nobody when he is the only one involved in wrestling right now who has consistently drawn 700,000 PPV buys. The real question is whether this angle is actually getting AEW new fans from that fanbase. I haven't seen any chatter on MMA news sites about this angle so far. JDS certainly never drew a million PPV buys, was never a particularly good draw, although better than Cain, and his prime was more than a decade ago, so him making his wrestling debut is not going to draw any kind of buzz. Paige drew big ratings for Fox a couple of times but that was a long time ago, and I haven't seen her BKFC numbers but they were certainly not cracking any ratings charts. Andre Arlowski, as much as I love him, is a complete non-entity as a draw. I am guessing they are hoping UFC let Masvidal wrestle at the PPV or something, cuz that done right could be a major draw. But it only really works if Masvidal agrees to do a job, and even if he is cool with it, why on Earth would Dana White let that happen?

Currently imagining Kane coming out in a Tennessee sports jersey doing the D..D..S sign
-
It's not about Hangman not being over, it's about him looking like a paper champ in secondary feuds when the other angle's hook literally is "Here are two GOAT contenders and best in the world fighting to see who is better."
-
I caught up with the rest of the show. The botch in the opener 8-man was fine cuz it was the heels who fucked up the power spot, but the match itself was meh I thought. There were a few rough spots and the Elite when allowed to team up and run unrestrained can get too spotty. But they made Jungle Boy look like a million bucks. They are very very high on him. Arn is awesome but I cannot wait until this Cody thing reaches its culmination. This entire story is so boring to me until he turns.

It doesn't need the belt but it can be argued the belt needs the feud. Wouldn't Hangman and his title programs be overshadowed if Danielson-Omega is happening? I actually am not sure cuz one thing is clear: Hangman is over like a God in front of AEW crowds. He is a level beyond everyone else, and I include Punk in that category. It's more in the sense that booking-wise, he and his programs might come off secondary to two GOATs fighting for the GOAT title.
