  1. Not exciting really, but they are showing some PWF and UPW. The lack of anything before 1984 is a huge head-scratcher, though. But yeah, hard pass in general for these "gems".
  2. 47 years ago today. The Last Tangle in Tampa August 3, 1980 in Tampa, FL Tampa Stadium drawing 17,833 ($160,000) NWA World Champ Harley Race drew Dusty Rhodes (60:00) in two falls. Fritz Von Erich was the special referee. Rhodes beat Race (34:00). The time limit expired (60:00). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYnLBdqx-us
  3. I guess I wasn't subscribed to that one. What kind of stuff was on there? edit: I think that was a copy of Richard Land's stuff, stlll sad to see it all go
  4. This video right here. Took me a bit to figure it out, but it's the 8/15/81 episode of CWF featuring Dusty-Assassin and Lawler-Funk. Aside from those great highlights we get all the hype for a big show in Key West later that night. Great stuff.
  5. This was taped in Tampa and aired clipped on the 8/15/81 episode of CWF. Gordon Solie quickly explains the heated rivalry between the two and notes this will be no disqualification. Great heat for this but as they lock up we lose about 14 minutes and cut right to the final punch out. Still fun to watch these two throw blows at each other and of course Funk's selling is off the charts. Ends with the All Japan 70's finish. Neat little slice of history right here.
  6. Guys I really enjoyed this series. Found it inseparable from the footage since in many ways I looked forward to the podcasts just as much as new matches popping up. This episode is a great way to go out and perfectly encapsulates everything that was great about the service and Houston wrestling. Thanks for the memories, space cadets.
  7. I'm not sure of anything anymore, other than I should probably not go by the date on some random YouTube page.
  8. Hope there's more Spectrum to come. Jesus, 1983 WWF really is a new low. Backlund vs. Iron Mike Sharpe as the Main Event?
  9. I'm curious as to whether there is maybe another collection Corgan could purchase to start his own library.
  10. "It belongs in a museum!" No chance in hell we would have seen even a fraction of the footage we have if this had been sold to WWE first. Mainly for the reasons Matt D laid out, but also once Houston is part of the massive collection, it gets marginalized. We've seen a total of 1 Georgia match on the Network, a pretty famous and historic territory. Think we'll see another one any time soon?

  12. Nothing special here, but I thought it was neat happenstance to have the decade start out with it's future biggest star.

  14. This Guy makes really extensive playlists for every year and puts everything in chronological order.
  15. Kentucky Fried Rasslin ^Scott Bowden started a channel where he's putting up some Memphis classics and rarities. Some very cool audio for shows that didn't exist and a partial episode from 1974. Has this circulated before?

  18. Prazak is incredibly funny on BTS. He feels more like a third co-host than a recurring guest. I like how at times he comes across as the least knowledgable guy in the room but also the one having the most fun just shooting the shit about wrestling.

  21. Man, I absolutely love this series with Barry. If you're not a part of his fantastic Facebook group for Florida wrestling, do yourself a favor and get on it. Recently they started a YouTube channel with the best CWF footage to ever hit the net. Some of the stuff these guys talk about is even on there.
  22. Beau seems to be a polarizing figure within the community. When I mentioned I was purchasing some footage from him among some friends it elicited a number of interesting stories from other buyers, but my experience was fine. I guess regardless of what you think of him personally (or his cell phone connection or his habits) you just don't get that wealth of information on Southern wrestling from anyone else.
