  1. I guess once Vince is established as the owner the veil is lifted a bit, so someone like Teddy Long as GM would be marginalized within kayfabe. He's basically running a chain restaurant compared to Tunney's global sports empire.
  2. Right on, after Inoki vacates the title in Japan, Shinma comes to the states to present the belt to the winner.
  3. I love that Daniels promo. Maybe I should watch ROH? I only caught one episode randomly about 6 months ago and it was highlights of a big show with a lot of Japanese guys.
  4. The Evil Twin Doinks *needed* to be a tag team in the second half of the year.
  5. Love this topic. Thought about it for 23 years now. I would have kept Flair as champion until the Rumble where he drops the title to Bret. Savage wins the Rumble, setting up a face-vs-face WM main event for the title. Throughout the buildup, Savage slowly heels it until the match (much like Piper-Bret). Hogan comes in for WrestleMania and loses to Yokozuna, setting up rematches for the European tour. I'd try to keep Flair happy so he sticks around until WM (maybe a nice payday or something) to lose the feud to Curt on the grand stage. Hennig with a big win like that at Mania would be catapulted to main event status. Steiners should win the belts from Money Inc. at Mania and I'd put the Nastys into a Street Fight with the Samoans for a little variety. Not sure what Marty Jannetty's issue was around Mania in '93 but man it would've been great to see the Rockers explode at Mania, with Luna and Sherri in their corners as was planned. If not, I guess Tatanka will do. Honestly at this point I don't think it matters who the Untertaker's opponent is. The match with Gonzalez was awful on every level but anyone else you stick in there would be terrible too.
  6. I'll co-sign this. When (one of) your World Champions is a top cruiserweight it makes zero sense to have a separate division. A serious minis division would be a whole new brand. Hell, they could've marketed them as cruiserweight to keep things proper. The cruiserweight division as it stands is about as effective as calling a show "Clash of Champions".

  13. The F5 is pretty close.
  14. I do remember thinking that it was bad acting and a botched table spot the first time I saw the Flair-Steamboat postmatch. I think once you see the rest of the Flair-Funk feud the setup retroactively becomes this great angle. Terry's acting is just something I've grown to love.
  15. The legend goes that Vince LOVED the Johnny B. Badd gimmick and that's why he hired Mero, who was tired of playing Little Richard and wanted something different. The mistake Mero made was making Sable part of the interview process and once Vince saw her big old fake breasts his attention was diverted. Mero's WWE run was actually a LOT more entertaining and eventful than the Johnny B. Badd stuff. Just not in the ring.

  19. While the Top 10 is pretty pointless and Bix leaving left a uge gap in the show, I still think Last is a good interview and constantly finds worthwhile subjects so I'm still on board.
  20. Bix brought this up on Between the Sheets a few months ago and Kris pretty much no-sold it.

  22. Also, my first thought when this all came out is that Dory himself says on the Funks documentary that he intends to die in the ring (maybe "wrestle until he dies" is a better way to put it). I would imagine Terry has similar feelings.
  23. The two absolute truths of Terry Funk: 1. He will never retire. 2. He is crazy as hell.
