  1. If he does somehow get a second act in wrestling, I'm pretty sure that aspect of his character is forever done (for obvious reasons).
  2. I don't disagree, but to be fair, no other show is structured the way WWE is. No one watching Saved by the Bell is going to think to search for "Jessie Spano caffeine pills" and expect to be taken right to that scene - unlike wrestling fans, who will search for "Ric Flair Royal Rumble speech," etc. Features like that and searching for individual wrestlers probably won't ever return IMO.
  3. Joey Ryan responds: https://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2021/03/joey-ryan-statement-on-lawsuits-nixed-indie-event-says-hes-getting-help-for-addictions/
  4. All of this was pretty much known ahead of time though - Peacock's user interface and features (or lack thereof) haven't exactly been a mystery. Yes, it sucks for wrestling fans who don't know what they're getting into, but "they'll get over it" is exactly the attitude anyone at WWE is going to have. With the "Heaven" documentary (see my post above) being presented by "WWE Network Studios," it makes me wonder just how rushed and last-minute this Peacock deal really was. The fact that all of the content won't migrate until August tells me this hasn't exactly been in the works for as long as most people assume.
  5. Did anyone watch the 22-minute documentary "Heaven" about 16-year-old female amateur wrestler Heaven Fitch? It's the first WWE documentary that tackles a topic outside pro wrestling - in this case, amateur wrestling. (Even if you've cancelled your Network subscription, like I have, it's on the free tier - and also on YouTube, which I'll link to below.) If you can get past the self-congratulatory Stephanie McMahon introduction and the shoehorned WWE references, such as Heaven Fitch admiring Beth Phoenix (who also narrates), it's not bad. However, it doesn't pack the same punch most WWE docs do - which is now making me wonder if we've been overrating them this whole time. Because we feel a connection to Mark Henry, for example, that comes across as so heartfelt, touching, and amazing. But the same approach being taken with this girl we've never heard of falls a little bit flat in comparison. It's still a pretty decent watch, don't get me wrong, but it probably needed to be longer to give us more time to get to really know Heaven, her family, and her story - 22 minutes isn't nearly enough.
  6. I assume most of the Hunter bigfoot and Super-Cena finishes don't count for the purposes of this thread? If they do, Hunter vs. Booker T at WrestleMania and Super-Cena and Super-Friends vs. Nexus at SummerSlam spring immediately to mind.

If they are going to double down, I hope Omega comes out on Wednesday obnoxiously twirling those little 4th of July sparklers.

So, aside from not seeing the Attitude Era's #1 guy live and in living color, should be I glad I saved 50 bucks?

I actually called a different post obnoxious, not yours. The game of telephone that gets played on PWO is exhausting sometimes, man. I strongly disagree with you about Al Snow vs. Christian, but I have no reason to disbelieve you when it comes to the demographic information you're providing about Columbus, OH, even though I'm not sure being a top test market and bellwether state for national elections quite translates into how the entire country might have viewed Christian and Al, respectively.

    AEW Revolution

Okay, I'm done...I hope. Christian was #1, not only during the Attitude Era but in any era, and I think we all agree on that now.

    AEW Revolution

Because it's an absurd argument. Al Snow never sold a PPV. E&C and the TLC matches did. No one looked forward to Al Snow's matches. Everyone looked forward to those E&C TLC classics. (And I like Al Snow!)

    AEW Revolution

Because I remember how big and important E&C and the TLC matches were in the Attitude Era, and I stand by putting them in the Top 5. Someone saying Al Snow meant more to their friends as some kind of argument is ridiculous. Everyone using Vince McMahon's arguments and perceptions to devalue Christian is something I wouldn't expect from this board. "Tag team wrestler." "B+ player in his own team." I'm surprised.

How? He literally mentioned his high school and college friends in his post. Not understanding your point here. I was responding to exactly what he said.

    AEW Revolution

Yes, since that's what everything thinks I posted, so I'll just roll with it at this point. Christian > Sammartino and Hogan too. Seriously though, people are underestimating E&C, the TLC matches, and tag team wrestling because Vince and WWE did.

Obnoxious posts like this by insecure people trying to get themselves over on a message board will never be funny. Nice try though. Actually read what I posted next time. Because your high school and college friends are an accurate metric. GTFO with that shit.

Nah. Christian is every bit the star Edge is - not his fault Vinnie Grapefruits could never see it. You can talk about TNA all you want, but no one was moving the needle for that little sinking ship that could. NAO was great fun (well, before the bell rang anyway), but they didn't sell PPVs like E&C did with those TLC matches.

    AEW Revolution

Okay, so who would've been better than Christian that was a realistic possibility of signing with AEW?

    AEW Revolution

Everyone in this thread is suddenly Vince McMahon - shitting on tag team wrestling (newsflash: the TLC guys were almost as valuable as Austin and Rock) and thinking Edge is better than Christian because he has nicer hair and whiter teeth. What's next? Going to start posting with a blue dot too? Christian > Edge

    AEW Revolution

People forget how beloved those TLC matches were during the Attitude Era, and E&C won all of them.

    AEW Revolution

Don't see how they sacrificed credibility. He's a huge star - top five Attitude Era guy - and definitely HOF-worthy as advertised.

    AEW Revolution

I guess WWE didn't sign Christian. This was reasonably the best option AEW had. Punk, Brock, and Cena were never realistic possibilities. Angle is broken down. Christian is a great get. Not sure why anyone is disappointed, as it would've been a huge surprise without the hype announcement. As it is, it's still a pretty startling development considering that he was final four in the Rumble only a month ago.

    CHRISTIAN CAGE?

I mean, I'm sure it's still better than whatever he was doing before. He's a complete nobody at the moment.

Ethan Page (WHO?!) was the ladder match mystery guy??? Not sure who this is referring to, but shame he didn't do something brave and call out the governor of the state they're actually based in.
