Big Show vs. Marko Stunt would be a main event anywhere in the world.

THIS IS THE BIGGEST SIGNING IN THE HISTORY OF OUR SPORT, GUYS! Seriously though, I am genuinely shocked. I also think there's no way he was signed just to commentate a second YouTube show. I wonder what would've happened if Netflix hadn't cancelled his WWE Studios show, The Big Show Show. Did Netflix just literally change the course of wrestling history? (Okay, I'm being a bit dramatic in my wording there.) Was Show's last match technically the main event of WrestleMania (he wrestled Drew right after the Brock match and it aired on Raw) or was there another one after?

Wait, Jesse being better than Heenan on commentary is a controversial hot take? I always thought so as a kid. (I still liked Heenan though.) That's definitely true, but I also think commentating a bunch of random matches is precisely what made them so fun and loose, like two fans who were polar opposites just sitting back and shooting the shit.

Which is all fine and well and fair enough, but not even texting the guy after his son died or when he almost died himself? C'mon... (At least in Arn's case. Barry, "Christian" Tully, and especially Ole are more understandable.)
-
Lord Alfred Hayes and Sean Mooney are an underrated commentary duo. Yes, I'm completely serious. They were the voices of Prime Time Wrestling (during the matches) and they always had great rapport together.
-
Well, no, because they were both with WWE when Reid died.

Torch Talks are generally a must-read. Bruce Mitchell is lazy and overrated 90% of the time, but when he actually puts in some effort, he's good. So much phoned-in crap to wade through to find those gems though. I wasn't around for this, but Keller's coverage of the Vince steroid trial supposedly blew Meltzer's out of the water. I was around for this, and Keller's coverage of the WCW sale also blew Meltzer's out of the water.

A sad interview about why Ric Flair is no longer close with Arn Anderson and other Horsemen. (Spoiler alert: They're assholes!) https://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2021/02/exclusive-ric-flair-reveals-why-he-and-arn-anderson-are-no-longer-close/

Caution: Last time I "dared" to ask this in a public post, I got chewed out and was told to "use common sense" and PM a mod. (My bad for not automatically knowing by osmosis WTF a "Village Green Preservation Society" is supposed to be, lol. Sounds like a horticulture club to me.) So, PM a mod, I guess?

I second this. The interviews with Bayley and especially Sasha have both been fantastic. The Sasha interview will likely be my swan song with the WWE Network, as my subscription expires in a few days. Onto Peacock... Let's hope content like this doesn't become a thing of the past now that WWE no longer has to care about boosting subscriber numbers.

Austin Aries: The Adventures of an Arrogant Asshole
C.S. replied to KawadaSmile's topic in Pro Wrestling
The thread title makes me smile every time I see it. Kudos to Kawada "Bubba" Smile on achieving perfection. -

Are we supposed to recognize the other two people in the pic, or are you trying to make the point that Aries is barely taller than a 10-year-old child? -
Austin Aries: The Adventures of an Arrogant Asshole
C.S. replied to KawadaSmile's topic in Pro Wrestling
In any other industry, that would've been the end of his career. In sleazy, slimy pro rasslin', it was the precursor to his biggest push and years of success. -

Imagine being a rassler who isn't even all that good at that and thinking you're also a vaccine and medical expert. What a clown. WWE should have brought him in as the new Doink. He would've gotten more over in that role, that's for sure. -
Austin Aries: The Adventures of an Arrogant Asshole
C.S. replied to KawadaSmile's topic in Pro Wrestling
What thread did this hellscape of a topic spring from? But yeah, Austin Aries is the worst. Anti-mask, anti-vax, an overrated little geek who thought he was way better as a wrestler (and everything else) than he ever really was. A terrible face and an even worse heel (except in real life). Just about as useless from both a human being and entertainment standpoint as someone can be. -
Shortest PPV of the modern era? (Not that I'm complaining!) That would actually be a cool idea, but where would that leave John Morrison and Damian Priest? Feels more like Bad Bunny will cost Miz the title to set up the expected tag team match. I can't see Bunny in a singles match, much less a main event singles match.
-
Shoulda had Morrison win the U.S. Title then.
-
THIS IS WHAT LASHLEY AND MIZ WERE DISCUSSING. Miz wil cash in.
-
So much for that...
-
I'm calling it now: Sheamus wins the title, Drew regains it in front of a crowd to get his "WrestleMania moment."
-
Kofi still looking over his shoulders after being attacked that one time before a Chamber match years ago is amazing
-
Is Reginald French?
-
Careful.. This quote will come back to haunt you at the end of the night when Orton wins the WWE Title in the Chamber and Edge ends up picking him instead.

He just hacked mine.
